good to hear all is well CD! we were getting worried about ya
I was worried about this issue for a while when I was first considering my choice of a vaporstar for my delve into vaporizing, as knowing what I was breathing in every day is pretty important to me. The research I did online as to how the vaporstar, and similarly the CD filter, work revealed that you have a pretty big potential to breathe in butane, but only under circumstances of improper use. I've used vaporizers such as the Da Buddha that have reasonably pure air paths, and enjoyed similar levels of taste to butane powered units under the correct conditions. I always make sure to only harvest the heat of the lighter; the light orange part of a candle flame and the translucent blue part of a jet flame. Under these circumstances some pretty educated guesses I've made about the thermal instability of butane would suggest that nothing near an "active" amount of the chemical will be inhaled if a proper distance is maintained. Try and fine tune the technique you're using if you're experiencing any butane problems, with such "personality" traits being the biggest pro as well as the biggest con of such style vaporizers.stonemonkey55 said:Unfortunately, that thing required you to suck down a bunch of butane
i like you description better then mine, something like, "light blue end flame".translucent blue part of a jet flame
