Discontinued Inhalater XP

I spoke with someone from Pharmcor today and they will be sending me a new unit. They identified the problem and have corrected it, so it should not affect any newer units coming out. Hats off to Pharmcor for their excellent customer service. My only concern is shipping my old one back over the border. What is the best way to clean it to ensure there is no residue / odor? (Besides qtips and iso)

they will include an envelope that u are supposed to put the defective unit in and send it back...i suppose it will have some adress or something printed on it,they told me to just remove the capsule from the unit nothing more concerning safety...+ i would say lets wait until our replacement units get to us before start giving credits to pharmacor about that...u never know...maybe the replacement takes 1 month delay like the preorder did(not saying it will but u never know). other than that i agree that pharmacor has been ok with customer service until now...

There is no other way really. It shouldn't rake that much. Put it in double ziploc freezer bags with a sheet or two of bounce.:)

I wouldn't bother trying to mask any odor. No human is going to be able to smell a cleaned XP through packaging, and no amount of baggies or dryer sheets is going to fool a drug dog (there is a common misconception that drug dogs can be "fooled" by techniques to mask odor).

And I agree with Pakalolo - I think the risks of shipping a used unit back to Pharmacor are so low as to be insignificant.

I can't believe that these failure reports started the day after I got notification that my XP was shipped by the eBay seller! I'm frantically searching for clues as to whether mine is "newer" or "older". I know it's probably pointless though. It doesn't seem like a common thread has been established regarding which ones are bad and which ones are good (i.e. 2 holes vs. 4, round cap vs. square, etc...). I guess I just have to hope for the best.

It would be great to hear more from Pharmacor on this issue. Maybe we could learn how to identify the units that may be susceptible to this failure (now that they have identified the cause).

Anyway I guess that's just how the cookie crumbles...

I know shipping it back poses very little risk. But with my "think of the worst case scenario" mentality, I would rather eat the cost of it. $225 is not worth what could happen if I am the unlucky one. Watching too much Locked Up Abroad will do this to you.

I actually got a used inh004 in the mail today and I really didnt smell anything at all, the capsule was used, the heater core you can tell has been used numerous times and I didnt smell a thing [through the package], might just be me though.

I wonder how many returns to inhalater from the US have been confiscated ect?? Would be interesting if anyone on FC had this problem.

Anyway I have both inh004 and xp now, so I can compare some things. They are really both the same size and almost exactly identical.. This almost feels like something apple does with minimal changes lol. Although I haven't tested performance [heat up time, battery life] I still get the same satisfying vapor from both units even though the inh004 has half the airflow of the xp, doesn't matter to me though cause in no way are they restricted. I was just kind of bummed cause I thought the XP would've been smaller, don't know where I got this idea from..

You can tell the improvements have been made in the knob though [xp much stiffer], I like the inh004 cause I can turn to max all the way without having to worry about that "Tobbaco" mode and pulsing light at the end, they really should've put that before 1 on the dial..

notes:
Capsules feels stiffer going into the inh004
in my hands the XP felt a little heavier
exactly the same size, if you can find a deal for the inh004 i would go for it.
ill be back to compare heat up times
i think my xp gives me darker ABV at max temp.

My friends call me "Menz"
many, many, many months ago i wrote to Inhalater and i was told the XP was what going to be released (the one now) and that from then till some time in 2014 the unit would go through design changes to make it smaller. i was told the released XP (which was not released when i wrote to them) would be just slightly smaller but it would continue to get smaller as they made improvements.

I received my replacement XP and noticed three cosmetic changes to it. The size is a bit smaller, the sticker surrounding the unit has been removed and replaced with a much smaller sticker that does not cover the unit and the last change is the two holes rather than four.

I have to say as much as I like my XP I rely don't like the way Pharmacore does business. They made a statement of when the XP's would be ready that they couldn't live up to so instead they rush a bunch of beta units out to the people who pre-ordered and then a couple weeks later they update to a smaller more refined product. How do you think the people who just received the bigger ones feel PHARMACORE. Not to mention the fact that we were led to believe the one's we were getting were going to be smaller and only found out they wouldn't be when people started getting them. $250 ain't peanuts and when I buy something I dam sure want the newest model not one that's going to be updated a week after I get mine. It's BULLSHIT end rant.

Preorders always have dangers... Some of us who didn't feel the preordered unit worked as it should be and had issues are already taken care by Pharmacor and exchanges are offered as far as I know. No bullshits here... They have good customer service and that's what matters.

And finally about the stickers! I like the minimalistic new ones A LOT! Can't wait for my exchanges!

I can't agree with you more. After dealing with them personally I find they are a solid company with top notch customer service.

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
NF isn't it costing you a butt load of money to send it back and you possible may have to pay customs again when it gets back to you or is that the luck of the draw?

I wish it was just the INH... Murphy's law says everything that comes over here to the other side of the world has to be malfunctioning somehow so I need to spend the maximum amount possible to finally get a working unit!!! :ugh: At least the companies I have had troubles with until now had a decent customer support. Anyway... That's what it takes I guess to be on the forefront of leaf vaporization and a FC'r right? :D

Weird. Still using the original capsules that came with my unit over 5 months ago. no idea.

There's no risk to you if you don't put any information in or on the package that would identify you to authorities. All you need is something that lets Pharmacor know that it's your device. That could be the serial number if it has one, or just simply a note signed tikimaize or some other pseudonym that you've told Pharmacor you'll be using.

Thats not quite true here in the US. you have fill out customs forms when sending this thing at s USPS. The package and its contents are easily traced back to the sender. Maybe its different elsewhere....

Can't say I liked this idea when sending the two units back.

I would be a less risky for US customers if there was a US Warranty location.

Yes, you have to do that on both sides of the border. There is no verification that you are providing information that identifies you, however, at least not in my experience. You can write down whatever you like.

agreed. but your also on candid camera. lets just say I know people who tried that trick with false addresses and such and the LEO's had no problem finding em and arresting this individual. He was shipping more than a vaporizer though.

thanks for cleaning up my dupes.

Yeah, whoever that was had to be doing a lot more than returning a used vapourizer. I go back to my point that the cost/benefit for LEO to pursue this makes the risk almost non-existent. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest to put my real name and address on such a package.

We now return you to your recently interrupted topic.

I agree with you. I agree on the risk/reward. I was just pointing out some details for the paranoid to ponder. I have no problem sending those units or will I have a problem sending one of my Solo's which just died yesterday.

and I have to say my INH has been acting wonky the last day or two. something in the potentiometer is making some grinding noises ( I think the pot is going bad) and some times the lights go on or off inexplicably. moving the dial seems to fix it but its not supposed to do this.

BTW: and removing the sticker will not void warranty.

I agree with everything that been said about the risk of pre-ordering an electronic device. I was aware of this but thought that the upgrades were minor and would'nt affect the overall design. Do i regret of having one of the very first XP in my hands? NO! As long as it work fine i must ad because using the XP everyday i have zero problem with it. It is an amazing portable vape but...

Here comes my second impressions of the XP!; The XP will NOT be the portable vaporizer i wished for. I use the MFLB and the T1 in places where discretion is absolute. Concert halls, theaters, work place... With the XP i just cant have that anonymous position where i can vape in the middle of people without been noticed. With the two mentions portable vape above i can just do that. Not with the XP. The reasons? #1;The smell the device produce while heating the herb material. It just reeks! Not that i don't appreciate the smell but goodbye privacy and intimacy...
#2;The green light! It shines like fuck! Not to mention when it blinks! It must be the best way to bring attention in a dark theater or anywhere where you don't want to bring attention with a blinking green light!

I will use the XP everyday still and is perfect in places like friends or rehearsal places where people knows i vaporize mj. It is also the perfect tool to introduce someone to the world of vaporization and it's ease of use can only help ones decision to get that one as a first vaporizer IMHO.

Not the portable vaporizer i wished for the INH004 XP is a fantastic portable vaporizer that i would recommend to anyone who don't need the discretion required in some situations for some users. I hope my XP "Limited Four Holes & Bigger Edition" will last as long as it can. I live in Montreal so i suppose that it won't be to much hassle if something happen to my XP...

So, is Plantvape really not taking orders on XP's till March 8th? That's what it says on their website. Anyone know anything about this?
