you mean if i use the aerospace capsule with bong?i used it with a bong and with the PNWT and it worked ok.
but i think for bongs i am going to stick to the normal capsule since you dont need cool air to cool the vapor...

the XP is an awesome machine and i really would consider buying a back up XP because it feels like there are not much things that can replace...

I agree so much that I did buy a backup long ago.

Both still work perfectly and I agree that nothing I've seen in this class of vapes that can outperform in so many areas. Battery, temp adjustability, taste, extraction, etc. there may be something out there, but I've not seen it yet.

I also had a long wait for a replacment last year, but didn't get frustrated to the point of making perhaps somewhat accurate comments but put unfairly with exaggerated negative connotations. I guess some ppl feel the need to publicly scold the company when they are made to wait beyond their point of patience.

I feel very fortunate to own mine and have more than got my money's worth from the material saved due to the xp's extreme efficiency in extraction.

I was told to shut up and sit down when sharing my positive thoughts, but am pleased to see that many others also 'get it' and some of them were the ones who wanted me to stop posting my pleasure with my inhalaters :)

If you look back to my posts in this thread as well as the 004's thread, you'll see that I used to love the original and that I really wanted the XP to be an overall better vape. I was one of the people that suggested @Inhalater should try flatter heating coils so there are no hot spots in the heating chamber and they actually did it. In theory that should work but in reality the unit lost it's ability to adequately heat the air before it enters the load in the capsule and now it works like most other conduction vapes. I have made some pretty convincing arguments in the past and there was none to prove me wrong back then, concerning the way the XP produced vapor... With a little search you can find those posts.
Then the QC issues came up and everything went to hell. Now it seems they are starting to solve some of their issues but it's still too early to say... If those damn replacements finally make it to my bro after all those months and I get to test the latest iteration I would be happy to find that my opinion about gen 0, gen 1, gen 2 and gen 3 pieces was wrong. But from the video I didn't see anything close. It's fairly obvious our friend draws very slowly and the vapor is thinning out after every initial draw. I remember it was one of the things that I didn't like as well, the fact that even through a bubbler or a small bong like the vid's the vapor still irritated my throat. From my experience, I blame conduction vapor for this... For sure different people with different background will have different experiences but since I have already given my money to Inhalater I feel I can express my opinion as well.

Now what would be a good alternative to the XP?
I honestly don't know as it has many pros compared to similar vapes but some serious drawbacks as well... Maybe the Indica proves better... I am pretty sure the Grasshopper will be light years ahead! :p But GH is supposed to be convection and I am all about that now after my troubles with conduction vapes. Many people nevertheless seem to be happy enough with PAX's, DaVinci's, PNP's, Indica's and the like so why not with the XP? They are very similar in philosophy, just too expensive for what they offer when there are already similarly priced convection units in the market! So if people like the XP, who am I to say otherwise? It's just my take on this... If you feel something is missing though, go get a Firefly or a GH if it comes out ok... It's a whole different game imo! :)

Damn, that came long again! :p

EDIT: Sorry bro, I seem to have forgotten the Firewood! A nice convection choice as well if you don't mind pressing that power button for nearly a minute before the first draw.

i dont see how the grasshopper will even come close to XP vapor production. the videos of the grasshopper are not very promising at all IMO. its gorgeous, but seems like you have to pull on it for damn near a full minute to get a decent amount. the XP produces instantly. sure the GH may be made with better materials and an amazing insulator, but if it doesnt produce anywhere near an XP i dont believe they can be compared.

the GH seems like a great "one hitter" portable while the XP is a real "vapor blunt". sorry pinnacle poeple!

I'm glad to hear that. I've been waiting a long time and the XP was always my first choice for a portable.

Can someone give me an approximate battery life of the latest batch? Pretty Please?
No worries I responded to you a page or 2 ago but I tend to respond to more than one at a time so you may have missed it.... Of course the usage will affect the battery life so I will answer you as a user who on average will run a cap for 3 cycles {30 mins} 1st run on 5.5/6; 2nd run on 6/6.5; 3rd run on 7/8/9... I can typically get through 2 caps and start on a 3rd before she will have to recharge.....I'm not a huge fan of running her until she dies like that so I have been pretty much always returning her to the charger after 6 runs and really sooner if I can.....still 6 hours to charge....she'll have a very hard time with #9 when she is low on battery....
Hate to report that after just a few months my replacement of my replacement of my replacement XP is going down hill.. The heating light wont stay lit when the XP is on, have to tap it a bit or move dial positions to get it to heat back up/blinking light.

Charge light has trouble coming/staying on also.. Have to turn the knob to on then off just to get a charge.

I'll be looking into gettin a replacement, has service by inhalater improved yet?? I will probably send it out after SuperBOWL weekend.
I'm so sorry to hear you're starting to see issues as well but I think maybe one of them you can improve not certain and I would also write to Greg before doing this.....I have purchased 2 of these units and now have 2 Q4 replacements...and I too have had both of these issues and it is the first one that you have mentioned that I was able to resolve....When it had happened the first time I only had it for 24 hours but thankfully it has something to do with the switch slipping.....it was suggested that I rap the XP on a firm surface to "set the switch"..... I was worried I would set it too hard....so instead I tapped the bottom of the switch with finger tip {like a ninja} then turned it on and off several times and that seemed to resolve it for several weeks before it came back and I simply repeated the same and it hasn't been back since....maybe a month now......{that was my unit}
My GF's unit has got the aggravating USB failing again....just like yours we have to play with it to get it to stay on and charge....and we notice every time we think it has finished we go to pick it up and the light comes back on like it wasn't finished after all.....I too am sorry to report that it is getting worse in fairly quick fashion urrrrr......

I'm also worried about this manufacturer, I too wish they were more inline with other manufacturers business practices.... I think we can all see room for improvement and I'm certain it won't be as fast as many of us would like.... and I also think they have "heart" and the will to deliver on their promises {their dream} to deliver a state of the art portable vaporizer.
anyway big ups to inhalater for customer service lately i placed an order for 24 capsules and had awesome communication!soon i am going to send my inhalater for upgrade i just have to find some time off work in the morning...

I too have decided to do the very same...I actually wanted spare units when I learned I was only going to get a bit over an hour of battery....the first time I took it to the beach... told me I was gonna need a hot spare(s) but then all the complaints were getting posted and my USB port fell out so I figured I should hold off.....then the wait for a replacement....I went back to combustion......for months....extremely disappointing BIG time but enlightening as well.....
I too feel it is an amazing performer for a portable vaporizer I often marvel at their simplistic approach to combining conduction & convection using only the single heater....very nice...however I can also feel were NF is coming from...and I also agree that the current version has taken a small step back.... However......weighing everything out......I want to support this product...I want as many of my friends and family to have one of these as possible.....so YES I'm buying spares.....2 more for the both of us... and it is looking like my gal and I are going to be proud beta testers because we are each getting to try out the INH05b's....so we will each have 2 XP's and each have a new INH05b to stress test.....we are perfect for the job as these vaporizers are all the only thing we feel for us anyway that can replace combustion. Not only does it replace combustion it puts it to shame IOHO......

Now this will sound a bit contradictory but I feel I should be clear......my decision was heavily swayed buy our desire to NOT be caught without a working unit......even though I feel confident that the current Q4 XP version will eventually have a USB failure.... so what this means is if you can wait for the general release likely 2+ months out and would prefer to avoid all of the back and forth replacement game then I would hold out for the INH05 that will have the USB protection.
BUt if you don't wish to go without {like me} then the Q4 XP is much sturdier and your likely at some point in time going to end up in the "replacement pool" waiting......

Another damn book ....sorry about that......

Ooooupss the fish is out of the barrel lol ;-) CONFIDENTIAL got lost somewhere between inhalations and all those emails...

Great people of FC : INH05

150%, 1.5 generation ahead of the XP. Vapour taste and production with the Aero capsule is a larger improvement then from 004 to XP.

Beta testing is expected to last for months. Official release in June

@vaplen The number is tracking used in production. It should be serial but we ran out of printed numbers and did shorthands to keep things moving.

Would it be safe to remove it? I won't if i shouldn't. I just don't want to mess up anything with the warranty

@Edward Hyde I mean how does the Aero capsules compare with regular one used with a bong?

regular ones imo are better for bongs cause with the aero u tend to get thinner vapor (you draw cool air in that hit from the holes thats why).I have to add tho that i hit my hydrotube with the aero capsules and it workes really nice aswell big clouds and tasty as always!

XP battery life is pretty amazing, always lasts all day for me. If im ever worried it won't, or i couldn't charge it the night before, I simply bring my external battery with me as well.

Two XPs is a little much for me. Just use an external battery and charge while you go. :)

Someone here recommended anker, which is what I got. definitely a great product all around.

First off I wanna say I really like the XP. I just hope mine doesn't die out on me. Last night trying to charge I plugged it in and the LED didn't light up. After like 20 seconds it faintly illuminated got as bright as normal and then it went out again. I don't know if my xp was charged too much or if there is a problem with it. I am worried I might have problems down the road especially since this is the third day I got it, but still I hope it lasts.

Other than that it is pretty amazing.

EDIT: There is definitely something wrong with the USB it looks like it is pushed in a bit. When I put it on the charger it flickers. @Inhalater Do you have any idea what I should do? It still works at the moment but I don't think I should have problems within a couple of days of receiving it :(

I have an anker battery and with that I hardly ever need to use my 2nd xp due to power as it lasts me the whole day too. I do try to top up charge whenever I can.

My main purpose for the 2nd unit was to ensure I wouldn't have to revert to combustion if it needs to be repaired at any time. (My backup vapes just don't do it for me). The other reason was so I can leave one at home charging up for the eve and take one out with me during the day.

Haven't been caught powerless yet, so IMO battery life is great.

@Inhalater - do we know if the INH05 will use the same capsules?

@TransHumanC, I poked two small holes in the side of the capsule with a hot nail, and wow... What a huge difference... Love my new capsule, and you can easily slide the hygienic tip to restrict airflow too!

Great idea man. Glad inhalater realized that as well. Just curious, did you really sell the idea to them? For how much?

@vaplen Please monitor the situation and keep us posted.
@HerbalHealing Yes absolutely.
I figured out that the right side of my usb port is a little too far in. I can get it to charge if I charge it a certain way but I feel this is a temporary fix. How quick is the repair process? I love how the xp works but this is kind of disappointing. I just don't want to be without one for a while :/

Since a few days I noticed that my abv did not come out evenly at all anymore, at the
top of the capsule it stays very light, this part is deepest in the xp.
When i looked in the xp with a light, I saw that the orange marterial at the bottom
was a little bit wrinkled up.
I can still insert my capsule easily.
Can I still use it or should I mail Inhalater?
By the way, my xp goes to 8 and then auto, at seven abv is black.

So I met up with my friend who has the Ascent and we had a quick session. This is only based on one sesh, so take it as a grain of salt (figured it's still better than nothing though). I believe I have a Q2 INH XP. This was the consensus (had my XP at 5-6), Ascent was between 410-430:

- Clouds: INH XP had thicker, denser vapor compared to the Ascent.
- Taste: Similar initial tastes, Ascent had longer flavour overall though.
- Vapor: The Ascent has cooler vapor, due to the longer path, so it was a nicer hit.
- Efficiency: Both lasted about the same, with the INH lasting a few more hits.
- Heat-up time: very comparable if the INH is fully charged. If not, I found the INH is a bit slower than the Ascent.
- Both easy to use, basically no learning curve.

Overall, can't go wrong with either of them. I was thinking about getting the Ascent as there was a lot of hype with it, along with the glass vapor path, but from what I found the INH XP is just as comparable.

I noticed that too, I think it's normal since fresh air is coming here this part is colder than the rest of the capsule and the Xp is so powerfull than when the rest comes out dark brown this part is just a little bit lighter in term of colour.

To fix this issue and to keep my unit clean I put a little ball of coton here (in the deep of the oven) where heat is less efficient, i saw that Inhalater sold something like that to put in the capsules....

Some questions to Inhalater:

- I think my unit is Q2 (bought in June), the auto mode is it vworking on this unit?

-It seems to me that when I turn the t° button the t° jump from one setting to another, i think there is nothing between 5 and 6 for example, you choose 5 or 6 but 5.5 is not possibleIMO, isn't it? (sorry for my bad explanations, but some words miss to me...)

- When can I expect to see oil capsules? I'm thinking there is enough power to vape concentrates....

Thanks for your work, nice vape at all

@vaplen The charger LED goes off when the unit is completely charged and has a tendency of coming back on if we play with it. It is perfectly normal for it to flicker when inserting the cable and when completely charged will go off shortly after. The port itself is a little in retreat in the body.

@Belgianvapor Perhaps unit needs a thorough cleaning. The crumpled capsule indicates that it is butting against the bottom. Uneven heating would also indicate that there is a accumulation of material in the bottom of the heating chamber. We will double up to get that cleaning kit available!

@PAZ thanks for the comparo. It appear the Inhalater temperature was set a little higher: Would be great to get a comparo with Aero capsule when available :-)

@Wolf46 Please check with our official distributors here
http://www.inhalater.com/get_yours_now.html

@PPN Yes the automatic mode is operational on your unit. You may recognise it by it's caracteristic pulse flashing. The temperature control is full scale and will record all variation on the dial. Sometimes adjustment is not pervceiable on the operation light because of hysterisis and immediate temperature adjustement.

Hysterisis is a set gap between value to smooth out operation : The LED flashed only when temperature is +/- 2 Celsius off the selected. Immidiate temperature adjustment is as soon as the dial is turned the heater comes on/off an may keep the temperature in the hysterisis gap thus not showing on the operation light.

You may use concentrates by soaking them into a substratre like herbs or abv.

Hey @Inhalater thanks for the response about the LED. There is definitely a problem with my unit though. For instance last night I was trying to charge it and had it plugged in and was not getting any indication whether it was charging or not. I felt it wasn't charging so I played with it a bit to try to get it working. I managed to get the light on by playing with the temperature dial and carefully having it leaned on its side. This doesn't sound normal to you right? It doesn't feel like it should be acting this way.

Can I get information on repairs? Who I should send to. How long it should take (keeping in mind that I have had my unit less than a week before experiencing problems). Are the units refurbished? Also how I should go about international shipping since I've never done it (like which carrier I should use, having a perfectly clean unit)?

I most likely will keep my unit the rest of this week and tough it out with the charging.

Thanks a lot for the reply.

Almost 10 euro isn't a little overpriced for only 1 capsules replacement?!
Or this is the correct price even in the USA?!

thanks.

@Inhalater : the wrinkling did not appear on the capsule but inside of the oven.
I clean on a very regular basis so it's not the result of resin.
I did not notice the gap in the orange coating of the oven before and
I did not experience different shades of abv before, it always came out evenly.
Can I still use the xp this way?
