I got one of these about a week ago and have been giving it some tests. Right out of the gate I really like its size and weight. Small enough to pocket anywhere and light enough not to weigh down your pants like the Cera did for me. The heat up time is stupid fast...the only portable I have that is faster is the instant-on mflb. It arrived pretty close to a full charge, so it only needed a quick top off to get started. My second charge, which was after about three or four sessions and was only done to keep it topped off, took between 11 and 13 hours...too long and the company is working on this issue. But for an overnight top off charge it should work fine.
After a couple of rough first sessions I contacted the maker for some advice. I am now getting it dialed in and like its versatility. Some vapes work easily out of the gate and they do what they do, but are limited in their functionality. This one takes some getting used to at the start, but it's only because of its versatility. Once you get it down you can do so much more than with some other vapes. The instructions are lacking at this point, however, so the versatility has to be discovered or learned from others.
For instance, you can vape along the entire temp spectrum, but for cannabis it's best suited for temps between 5 and 7. I like 6.5ish. This makes 8 to 9 good for thicker water hits, and temps 3 to 5.5 good for shisha. Now we do a fair amount of hookahing around here, so I was all about trying out some shisha in it. Last night I packed the regular capsule with shisha and a little hemp fiber to keep any juices from dripping into the unit. It works and I like it at 5.5 for this use best. But this is the only vape I would try it in, since the mouthpiece is part of the capsule. Using one capsule for one type of vaporizable doesn't dirty up the unit for other vaproizables used in a different capsule. I will use the aero capsule for my cannabis and the regular one for the shisha. And it would be easy enough to walk around with it packed with a shisha capsule for when you think you might get stopped...then switch to your weed capsule later when you are ready.
The unit has no air path to speak of after the heating chamber, so the vapor can be harsh. No worries here, as my Solo always irritated me above temp 5, and this one does it around 6 for me. The design lends itself to comparison with the Pinnacle Pro. This one wins on a couple of fronts. One, you can switch capsules for different herbs like I mentioned, without it tainting your mouthpiece like it would in the PNP. The heat up time is much quicker, and I like the way it tells you what's up with its flashes. It's giving me feedback, like when to slow my draw because it is blinking to keep the heat up. If I keep my draw just below the speed to cause blinking I get the thicker hits. But thick hits are not something to get into with this unit, as the aero capsules were designed to thin out and cool the vapor by adding fresh air, so thick hits aren't going to be the goal when using dry. I mostly judge it by effect. The abv always comes out even and dark when I max it out.
I have yet to put it into a water piece again after talking to the maker, but that is on the list. At this point I feel good about ranking it above the PNP, but I'm still not getting rid of my Solo or Lotus. This will be my grab for going out and about, and I have a feeling I am going to like it more the more I use it. I'll keep posting about it as I use it more, and feel free to ask questions.
