Even though my Indica is dead, I did receive my prototype print from Shapeways.com of my loading funnel 3d printed in steel with gold plating! It's a bit too tight (maybe 0.5mm off). So I'm going to re-adjust my parameters and re-order a new one. Still, this thing has some BLING! My mind is racing to think about what else I can do with this stuff, it's stronger than I expected.

Once I confirm the dimensions are a proper fit for the Indica, I'll unlock purchasing direct through shapeways.com for the metal versions (plastic funnels can still be ordered from my store)

Just wanted to let everyone know that within one hour of telling Michael my paypal account I had a full refund with extra to cover the money I spent on return shipping. You can't ask for better customer service than that.

I feel bad that some of the Noirs have this dying heat chamber issue, but based on my experience I believe Michael will fix the issue and the product really is awesome other than this issue.

I've had a total of 4 indicas. 3 have died, all stainless steel versions. I would love an explanation as to why there's a serious design flaw and what's being done to correct it. They're customer service has been good, however I can't recommend the indica until this is addressed.

Michael already addressed this very recently

It's clear now that with in the early "noir" run, there was a heater flaw. Dan is correct that if we do end up replacing the units multiple times, compensation for returned shipping charges should be Indica's responsibility. Dan, I have PMed a solution I think you'll find acceptable.

In the mean time, a new heater has been developed, tested and retested to eliminate this particular problem. Production of these next units begin shortly. Unfortunately this heater issue was a small percentage but an annoying one since it's batch was mixed with later production. My apologies to all who have anguished through vape failure.

I am about to announce several major additions to the Indica brand that many of the FC forum will appreciate. The hiccup mentioned above, though found months after use and production, has helped us develop a better QC program looking forward.

There were some issues on the stainless steel version, which were also discussed previously in this thread.

This was the hand warmer we used in the late 50s/early 60s.
It was the same size as the indica, and came in a couple of styles (difference being the configuration of the holes)

I remember those hand warmers, but you crystallized for me what they used to look like. I remember having one of those growing up in N.J. Really came in handy some winters...

I had 2 faulty Craftys, (Heating and charging issues) 1 faulty Mighty (err 004 issue) and 3 faulty Fireflys (combustion issues) and they are double the price of Indica. And fortunately I never regret purchasing Indica and I still do recommend to others.

Am I remembering this wrong, or did some of them have a hole in them that allowed you to light a cigarette against the heating element?

While the "Peacock" was the same size as the indica, this old standard is larger than our Indica, as seen by measurment. It does however have a cigarette opening!

...though I never used the cigarette option. Never did like those things, though I was dumb enough in my late teens to early 20's to puff on one now or then in a bar.

Give me a nice Padron 4000 Maduro or a fine Partagas Lusitania (Cuban) among other fine cigars. Don't smoke them often enough any more, alas...

Word of advice, if you call tech support call them back to see if they dropped the ball. I called Indica on the twenty-sixth 16th of February about my Noir quiting heating. They said it was in the works to get a new one. Here it is ten days later, I called to check why it wasn't here. They had no record of my call. Talked to a lady named Carol at 1pm. At 1:40 I got an email that my order was placed. Now I just have to be patient and wait for it to be shipped and delivered.
Oh well, MFLB is my back up.
Edit: That should have read the sixteenth that I called.

I had the same exact experience, and Carol was the one to solve it for me too. I called multiple times, and every time i called back, they had no record of me calling, none of my information, nothing. But Carol was the last person I talked to, and she told me she would call me back when she figured everything out. The next day, I got a call and gave her my info, and my replacement is supposed to arrive today

Edit: I just received a Noir as my replacement, and I also just got Ratchett's loading funnel today!

My question is can I still use this without the spacers? I tried it with a little bud it seemed to work. But I just want to make sure.. can anybody help me out?

You don't have to use the spacer with the Indica. You just use a bigger load. You could use a little cotton for a spacer if you felt like you needed to fill up the oven. The amazing uses for cotton.

Hi Forum. As each one of these past complaints have appeared, I have forwarded the issue on to my staff. My customer service manager appologizes for this breakdown in comunication and is working to have our organization learn from mistakes made. As we grow in volume, new issues emerge, but taking care of you, the customer is still my first concern.

We should be going into production next week with the long awaited corrections made. I held back generating more units once it was clear there was a problem and as for those of you who have had issues, know we've quickly replaced faulty units with working ones.

Allow me one week and I will confirm production, shipments and some news worthy company information that I belive you'll all appreciate.

You could use it that way. Put the bud in and cotton on top.

If you have access to waxes and shatter, you can use cotton with the wax in the middle. Just wipe out the inside of the Indica while still warm afterward so cleaning is easier.

Welcome! Don't sweat if you don't have all the accessories! The key thing to remember is that the indica uses conduction to heat the load. you want a medium-dense pack. The standard method of filling the oven and then packing down with a single spacer is nice to achieve optimal density, but certainly not required.

In fact, if memory serves me - @Indica Vaporizer mentioned that he prefers using no spacers with his Indica.

They do sell a kit of spare parts on the indica2.com website - it has three spacers, an extra oven door, two picks, and some brushes.

Pack the oven full with ground herb (loose, don't stuff it). The insert 1 spacer into oven (this will compact the load to optimal density).

Skip the first first 2 settings and jump to green or higher. Once it reaches temp, you need to draw HARD on the vape. Also, give it 20-30 seconds to regain temperature between hits

If you still don't get vapor clouds, you might need to clean your vapor path (use a pipe cleaner with 91% ISO)
