Pen Imag Plus

For concentrates I normally preplace the cotton/ss wool in the oven and just drop in a dab and have it heat the oil down through the wool and cotton.

I have the Imag Plus for a while now, along with my Arizer Solo. The IMAG is great, it is my take along unit.

The mouthpiece is definitely flawed, but I got around it. I punched some holes in the screen and the flow is fine. I initially added a screen in the chamber, but now find it unnecessary. I added some packing tape around the mouth piece that now slides over the unit as I put the mouthpiece in, like a little sleeve, holding it securely in place.

But the main thing is that the vapor is great, better than any other pocket sized unit I have tried, almost as good as my Arizer. Great vaporizer!

So after some documented battery testing.... I'm pretty pleased with the battery life. It is strictly my on-the-go vape. My solo is used when at home.

To preface this... A "session" is 3 full cycles. One "session" consists of 1 low temp cycle until timer shutoff... And then 2 medium temp cycles back to back until timer shutoff.

Doing so, I really get the most out of my materials. The chamber is now very evenly extracted. I could technically stretch it to a few rips on the high temp but its just not tasty at that high of a temp... Blech.

So I do one session in the morning. Then one session after work. So an 8 hour lull between sessions. I was able to get 7 full sessions until the battery fully died on me.

So technically speaking 7 sessions x (3) cycles = 21 full cycles.

So FOR ME... my imag lasts 3.5 days until I recharge ( which I do overnight).

Obviously that's being used sparingly. I know more extensive use will decrease battery life faster.

Again... My solo gets the job done at home. I LOVE my imag on the go. (For all the obvious reasons)

Eta: I agree with everything rob Allen said above....

Cheers!

IMO with some better support, a few tweaks (mostly the mouthpiece filter) and a sweet spot for price ($89.99) the Imag Plus could be a big hit as a portable pen vape. At half the price of the Grasshopper and about 25% bigger it could still hold its own based on value.

You can always get replacement mouthpieces, and switch them around when necessary. Hopefully everything will be upgraded soon.

Been running mine daily ceramic + (non carbon fiber) multiple times a day and have bot had any issues ..yes the stock mp is not perfect but some minor tweaks and it works great..have had mine since December again it gets used multiple times a day between me and my wife ..flavor and vapor production are top notch for a pen vape..if my test unit dies I will purchase another

yeah, they do no't sell carbon wrap/look
anyway i also get today imag plus ceramic from roxio and also got metal chamber model from other company (it was much cheaper than roxio).
anyway
why does roxio got so good flavor ?...because temperatures in chamber does not mach the specified values (190-210-230) i was only able to measure 172-200-215°C .
Will make comparison on the end of this week.
on cheaper version i measured 230 on high, but not 190 on low..

i was only able to measure 172-200-215°C .
The exact temperatures I measured with a "household-quality" thermometer (which showed accurate temps for an Arizer Solo) were:
176-181/196-201/212-217 C°
Imags do not maintain a constant temperature, rather a range by an "on/off" cycle, heats for a few sec, than lets to cool for a few sec, resulting in about 5 C° temperature fluctuation. I believe that this is a good feature, not only saves energy, but somehow "extracts" better. (Hint) Soon, I am about to document an invention I made, useful for most conduction vapes, but still testing it to perfection. The IMAG's "pulsating" heat radiation is definitely improved the test results!

on cheaper version i measured 230 on high, but not 190 on low..

I don't think there is such thing. Prices only showing differences in profits the sellers are making :)
Maybe a rebrand and some cosmetics & extras but same PCBs and settings I think. I THINK.

True, i was only talking about max temperatures, but actually yes it goes up and down, and it actually gets hotter if you make additional 2 or 3 cycles immediately one after another

Currently this is what I know of as far as rebrands of the IMAG Vape: Vape Dynamic Laguna, Cloud V Phantom, and SourceVapes Ghost. Any other rebrands please let us know.

I personally own every version of the Imag. The imag 3 in 1 (pull off MP and concentrate cannister), the imag+ ceramic (with twist off MP and ceramic insert in MP) and the Imag+ Ceramic with copper tube (the absolute latest with copper tube, twist off MP, bigger holes in MP, ceramic oven and improved PCB) I personally like the Ceramic with copper tube best since it has the best airflow/MP, the feel of the build quality and how fast it heats up.

Alright, time for me to get that review out… :)

It's been a while since I got my ceramic, carbon-fiber, copper tube Imag+ and from what I know it still fires perfectly good with everyday, all day use. It's not me that is using it mostly, but a friend who was lucky enough to get this sweet baby as a present to help him cut smoking. And he did!

I got to use the Imag+ for the first few days and I was very happy with how it worked! I honestly didn't expect that when applying for one of the first betas. I evolved to be a convection whore thanks to this awful place of a forum :p but was happily surprised with the way the Imag+ pumped vapor! It's all been said before but I am going to say some again.

The build quality of the unit was nothing but excellent and even the plastic mouthpiece that some have complaint about was just fine for the price. I just had to remove that ceramic insert cause it got oily very fast and didn't allow much airflow. The screen itself proved enough to stop herb entering my mouth and it improved airflow a lot over the stock config. The body in general oozed from quality and it felt amazing holding it. A very luxurious feeling that I hadn't experienced so far with my past vapes. It almost didn't feel right cause I hate most luxurious objects! Carbon fiber looked legit, much better than the stickers I once used to wrap my Inhalater 004! :p

The tools they included with the vape were a nice touch and very useful to help filling the chamber and emptying it… I think every vape manufacturer should provide a small kit like this and not all do. Nice attention to detail from Imag.

Filling the chamber was easy enough for me, even while on the go, as long as there were some ground herbs readily available in a small container. I even tried whole buds that I crumbled between my fingers after a while in the oven and reloaded. The oven is longish and narrow and I like this shape cause ime it offers more even heat distribution compared to the PAX's shallow and wide oven for example…

I liked the Imag+ both when starting at low temps and slowly bumping it up and when going straight to red. My lights were Blue-Green-Red and it makes more sense than Green-Blue-Red to me. I hope they return to that sequence. The vapor was harsher than my Lotus of course or the Crafty or most of the convection vapes in my past but nothing that would make me not like it. You just get used to it. My smoker friend never noticed any harshness and he preferred going for blue to green to red usually. I preferred green to red myself with a full chamber or straight to red for half filled ovens or less. The less filled the oven the less harshness of course. Fill it to the brim and it gets quite harsh with high temps. Just like most vapes! ;)
The Imag+ can give very nice and satisfying clouds that I could feel burning my lungs and I could see fogging the place. It can be a very strong hitting vape or a mellow one. I am very impressed with the vapor production, it satisfied my needs for thick vapor and I didn't miss the Crafty those days. Good job there!

The battery life seemed adequate to me and perfectly manageable since it takes so little time to heat up. A USB was always nearby. I wouldn't rely on it any more than other battery operated vapes of course and that's why I prefer butane vapes for ultimate freedom but it was certainly better than my Crafty!

ABV was always even without any need to stir and that is a big plus when on the go. Very happy with the extraction.

Generally I liked it more than the Inhalaters I have tried which have the same form, not so much cause of the better vapor production (it's not better) but because it's simpler, it needs less maintenance, it's cheaper, the ownership will likely cost much less in the long run and the CS seems much better from what I have experienced!

My friend is still enjoying it after a couple of months owning it and no major problems came up. Just a little looseness of the mouthpiece an some vapor escaping but he remedied it easily as he told me. I will check it out again soon I hope and report back…

Overall I was quite impressed with the Imag+ and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to any friend that is in need of a simple, economic vape. It's not for the connoisseur among us I feel but it doesn't disappoint at all! It's not a Grasshopper I think but it's much better overall than a MFLB, better than the Inhalater, better than the T1, better than the PAX, better than the Flashvape S1…

Any questions, I would happily answer of course. Although I believe most have been said so far. Imag+ is a solid vaporizer choice for the price!

I had the opportunity to test out an Imag+ that was sent to me to give to one of the local patients.
The unit made me chuckle to myself, as I no longer hold great hope when I am presented with a pen sized unit dedicated to herbal use.
I tested the unit out before deciding if it would fit in somewhere.
I have no qualms about laughing at my own ignorance and prejudice.

Hahahaha:lol:
Note to self: Consider self laughed at.
I had a great time using the Imag+, and did so for a few good sessions.
Even ABV, and surprising performance.
Battery life seemed to fit right in there with as many sessions as I needed to
make a decision.
Testing was done last night, but upon awakening today, I decided that before getting a few patients here to offer units to, I would try it one more time.
A triple session on green got me where I needed to be.
While the timed sessions are short they are too the point, and heat-up was not much of a wait.
I will be recommending this unit to local patients that require a unit to vape flowers while traveling, for it's simplicity, and lack of extra parts.
Load and go.
I like it.

well, relaxotech has a picture of this one on their website since a couple of months...
The seller is not relaxo tech, but that doesn't mean shit... often other companys offer it earlier than the official manufacturer (seen that a couple of times before) on alibaba.

anyway, will talk to relaxo tech and ask them myself

So the Imag 2 use an atomizer as Oven? if so hopefully it's works with convection or a hybird.

i don't think so... you can attach atomizers, but you don't have to, as far as I understand the concept. it definitely has a "regular" oven, you can see it on the pics on alibaba

That's right, mr weed. IMAG 2 can work in two ways:
1. load herb and vape directly. this way it is a pax like vaporizer.
2. screw off the mouthpiece and connect an atomizer through 510 interface. then you can vape e-liquid or wax like a standard e-cig.
