Yeah the trick with this dispo is actually getting there when what they have listed is actually in stock. Last time I was there I bought Cherry Pie taffy that wasnt even listed, I got the last few grams of it too. Their top shelf hash and taffy sells out redonkulously quick. I gotta do all kinds of planning around work schedules to make it down there.
I know, such a hardship, to walk into a clean, friendly place and buy the most amazing medicine legally, someone has to suffer. But seriously, parking is a bitch down there and they don't open early

Making it is a hassle.
I do it because of the challenge!
If you can have someone else make it for you that's awesome!
I'm adjusting how I make it all the time.
It's getting better however the journey can be hard!

I'm still working up the strategy to just do some simple ABV extract. Somehow with a 2300 sq ft home, I don't really have a vape space or a work space
Need to do some work to the man cave to rip out the last owner's idea of a tiki bar...

My "MAN CAVE" is were I VACUUM PURGE my SHATTER and CRUMBLE.
It's getting better however I've made some KOOKY mistakes along the way.
I'm adjusting my process to be safer and cleaner.
I extract outside in the back garden.
My house is only 2800 sq ft and it had a ENGLISH PUB style bar I torn out! (waste of space)
CANNABIS to me is healthier than alcohol.
Love red wine in moderation.
Quit drinking beer.
ABV I saved and made ISO extracts before.
Now I just clean my HERB PATHS between each use.
The flavor of clean glass is tastier to me.
Don't get me wrong ABV is practical and it can be done.
I just don't like the flavor profile!
If it doesn't bother you then cool!

This is a cheap setup for purging.
To EXTRACT it's cheap and easy.
Purging is key to BHO to make it: "healthy and tasty"!

You can always compromise. I drink mostly non alcoholic beers. I also drink alcohol sometimes, but in very moderate quantities to avoid getting intoxicated. Of course real beer taste better, but you can't drink it like it's water without consequences.
Just like I have been using (and getting to enjoy) bho for 3 days, as I was out of bud and got 1g of n-tane shatter. It was a bit greasy-waxy, not glass like, but I think it was a trim run and non winterized so I guess it's normal for it to left some residue on my hot surface. The more I use the more I understand I need to wait more to get a lower temp to avoid that burnt fat in the taste.
Then I'm finally back to my bud routine. Much smooth, different, more gradual than dabbing. Different is good, I need change !

I tried a Ti nail for a little bit, and it was pretty sweet, great flavor and hit, but I noticed it resined up the water in my colie recycler so much worse than my Vape pens. It also felt a bit dirtier on the lungs.
So I'm back to my good old Dabbler and Dr. Dabber... Well until I try concentrates on my EVO at least

I use a K.I.S.S. cart as a DABBER for TRIPLE PURGED SHATTER. (Medicating)
OMICRON or SHORTY.
For crazy thick hits the HERCULES SR71 does the trick! (Beyond Medication)
This is 2 x AW IMR 18350's or 7.4 volts. PERSEI.
If I did this with a Torch and a Nail I think it would go way beyond medicating leading me to a near death experience? I have a NAIL however is seems like too much work.
Next week I will run some quality assurance trials in a scientific manner.
Maybe i have a skewed option since I make some of the medicine that I consume?

I don't know what a lot of that means, but you should give your nail a chance!
Dabbing is a really enjoyable way to consume to begin with, a step above even combustion rituals for me. When you figure out the proper temperature for your nail (a lot colder than everyone I know irl assumes) and you find the proper size dab to go with it, the experience just gets better and better.
As with almost everything in life, practice makes perfect.
I initially was middle of the road on dabbing, It was cool but a bit harsh for me, and I preferred my vapes by miles. After more refinement of how I use my nail, and how I made my meds, it has become my favorite way to consume by a long shot, so I'm always trying to endorse it these days

Well I'm trying to be safer!Ok, now you've gone too far...
I found a old cast iron skillet that I converted in to a vacuum chamber.
A tube of silicone casket to make it air tight.
I maybe taking it a bit far however "OF" called me out for my glass jar!
As I increase my vacuum pressure the cast iron pot should hold up!

So Sr. Al the Alchemist, specifically his vid in the Sub thread, may have ended my second go around with solvent based extracts. I'm at a point where only a closed loop system makes any kind of sense to me. I may be back for round 3, but for now I'm edumacating myself on ice and water!

Ataxian, don't take it as me hating, or reading into the so called doctrine. I don't cast any judgment anywhere, actually still enjoy some good earl myself. I am just at the point in my life, and where I live, that my interest in which solvent to use has changed directions. I do feel there may(!) be something that is lost in the chemical process with honey oil as opposed to being sloshed around and filtered in freezing water/ice. Don't know if its true, but I know I'm going to try and find out.
I believe your shatters are cleaner than mass produced stuff, seen it my self. I don't have access to PG/SuperCrit, so I have been intrigued, but your headaches may lessen that urge for me. Sorry they give you headaches, but ain't it great to have full control yourself. One tip, google "stainless steal 25 micron screen", you'll thank me if you haven't already found them already.
I'm just going to take a different journey for a bit, same end goal (dabin' clean oil), different journey.

I was pissed yesterday when I realized that I was believing all this crap that people were claiming CO2 ad PG were better than my home made SHATTER. I had the Equipment already and converted to be a vacuum purger. My home made SHATTER was a medical relief of the up most quality.
I like FLOWER (TOP COLAS) pure whole the best in one of my vaporizers.
Concentrate for me is taking all the excess flower buds and extracting the essences of the plant.
Flavor & Effect.
Were on the same page I had a headache yesterday so I was a little deceived!
I now am stuck with 2 grams of CO2 oil that sucks!
Plus I have a 0.75 gram of Bubble Hash I hate.
At least my ALIEN KUSH flower colas taste incredible plus makes my headache go away!
MORNING MILK SHAKE VAPOR!
2014 SHATTER "HOMEMADE" no more commercial grade!
Is not the $ it's controlling what goes into my body!

Well, @ataxian , you also should be looking at additives, strains, etc.
Maybe the CO2 you've tried is cut with PG? That could be a source of headaches, if you are sensitive to that. It also could have been a different strain, which might not be one that works for you.
As far as not killing yourself with dabbing - when I first started dabbing, I did end up with nausea, and whirling bedroom syndrome. Secret is to just hit the briefest dab, then back off for at least an hour. Think of the amount of oil that will fit on the head of a pin. Start there. DO NOT just drop a lump of wax, for instance, on your nail. Watch your glass. the MOMENT you see vapor "bloom", pull the dabber away. clear it, and wait. It will not take long for your tolerance for concentrates to improve, if you are patient the first few times.
Your own shatter should be best, anyway - you know what you are making, you are keeping it clean, and you are vacuum purging it. If you are using bud only, your stuff will be SUPERIOR to anything you can buy, anyway, unless you want to pay someone to do it for you, and then, you will be paying a premium.
CO2 is merely another way to extract. It will never be better than the weed they start with, and if it is cut (pre-filled carts), then that makes it so much less, as well. Your BHO can be superior. It's all in what you put into it.
