no filtering; it was just as I described. there really was very little to it. in fact I didn't even have 90+ ISO; it was in the 70 percent range. didn't affect the rate of evaporation or if it did it was negligible.
i chose to smoke the hash in a little pipe - it's very sticky and gooey - and I felt that it could only gum up my SSV wand screen. this reclaim hash turned out to be more potent than the official hash i had bought a few weeks ago.
another great side benefit to vaping....
JeffP, didn't see anyone give you a heads up so I felt the duty to advise. That sticky hash you got can easily be vaped in your ssv without gumming up your screen. Vitolo has a suggested method in another thread that is proven successful. Simply take some 100% cotton(I pull mine off of qtips as I don't keep cotton balls in my house) put a small dab of the oil in the middle of the pulled cotton and roll the cotton up and stuff into your wand. You can turn your ssv's heater up some to get the sweet spot for your hash, the vape temp is generally a little higher(same with combusting hash, usually have to keep the flame trained on the hash to melt & smoke) so don't worry about going past where you normally dial in for your flowers to vape. I enjoy this method in my DBV Occasionally , sometimes I put the cotton in my Herbalaire and blow bags of vapor hash, other times I dab it on a hot glass nail bubbler.
Side note: I hope no one cleans & reclaims combustion resin with iso and then attempts to reuse that product. Gross toxins that contain little to no activates left worthy of consumption.
A quick question too: can I soak my Herbalaire's Teflon main fat transfer stick in iso for reclaim, or would the Teflon permanently absorb some of the iso like some plastics do? Right now I just turn my Herbalaire all the way up, put the fat transfer stick(can't think of anything better to call this part) on and without a bag or any material to vape in device, turn motor on and pump hot air through the stick to loosen oil, then use a stainless steel SSV pick to pull out as much oil as possible. This works for a little bit of cleaning, but I'd like to get it back to New White status. Any factual insight would be appreciated
