The thing that I don't like about micro dosing, is that you don't get to sit back and enjoy vaporizing for a while. It's like lowering your alcohol tolerance to the point where a sip of wine gets you drunk and you can't have a glass or two with dinner.
Having a low tolerance (a few tenths of a gram per session) is nice for saving money, but it also means you're getting less cannabinoids per session. If you're using Cannabis for medical reasons, perhaps that isn't the best option. Especially if you aren't only easing your symptoms with the relaxing feeling from vaporizing. Having a higher concentration of cannabinoids in your body might be better for some conditions. When given medicine for certain psychological conditions, doctors start increasing dosages until you get the desired effects, rather than sticking with micro doses and trying to get more from them. Granted, it's not always the best option, but I don't think that it's always better to micro side, either. Not everything is a matter of how strongly you "feel" the effects. Some things just need higher dosages to achieve the desired results.
When you're used to .005g doses, there are many things that can impact the effects.
I've noticed that there is quite a difference in having a tiny piece of stem in a .005g load when measuring it significantly reduces the overall size of the load, and in turn lessening that load's effects.
Or on the other side of things, if I pregrind and keep in a container, a .005g load from the bottom of the container has much more effects... probably due to kief falling to the bottom of the pregrind.
(Not sure if that made sense... just done with a .005g sesh... )
That being said, I am targeting a feeling of elevation that leaves me functional. Slow down a never-ending stream of thoughts and keep Menier's vertigo in check.
It gets a bit tricky though, when I come back from restocking and find that .005g of the new strain has gotten me way higher than I wanted to be... This only happens the first few sessions of a new strain, so I am kind of stuck switching strains on the weekends.
Yea, I could imagine about the stem pieces. The whole load is only several little pieces total. What do you get out of that small of a load, hit wise? It doesn't even cover the bottom of a Nano GonG screen, and can't even whitewall a Gb-186 one time. Do you get stoned, or just a slightly different headspace that feels nice. Because I know that feeling between sober and stoned, and it's a nice relaxing one, too. It's just not the same as the face throbbing, heavy body, 3d sounding music, high/stone you can get with a higher dose, for me. Is it actually the same for you, or do you just enjoy that stage before getting stoned?
I vape primarily for energy and small amounts provide a clear headed motivational energy that only a nice sativa can deliver. I feel good, uplifted and ready to take on what comes. More is not better. I have found with pot that the best effect is the least amount that can get you there. Overindulging does not give me a better stone. It does seem counterintuative but I enjoy my weed far more now than I did when I consumed heavier does.
The adjustment to microdosing is worth the effort. And the bonus is that you spend less on your stash and it lasts much much longer.
Do you actually get stoned, though, or just a mild buzz?
