Return of the HGL.
@Ruta and myself will be getting together and working out a new base, I like the way he had it set up at his house and if it's viable an idea will get tried out.
Awesome to see you guys are still looking into this concept.
I assume this is the the HGL concept where you can pop it off the base when taking a rip? If so then how long does the log maintain the heat once it's removed from the power source?
Could you for example, allow it to get up to temp, remove from base, place on glass and have enough time to take a hit or two?
@GreenHopper I took it down with me for @RastaVapa to have a try of and he's done a bit of research using his own log and a piece of glass so he can answer that better.
I'm dry hit only and I know with the SS and wood stem, I can get 2 or 3 good hits off power while walking around the shed.
I'm always happy to do labour exchanges with folk so RV and myself have struck up a deal.
He'd like a piece of my work and I'd like a piece of his, mines a custom core so I can explore the idea a bit more.

I want a piece of work from both you guys, but I'm in no rush, I know how much you guys have going on right now.
I was going to ask @RastaVapa to put me on the waitlist but I definitely want to wait until this base unit and removable log design is dialed in.
If he/you is/are happy to give me a place in line for one of those designs then sign me up I'm all in
I'll quite happily spend the wait time searching for a piece of wood worthy of such a creation.

I can say this. FUCK i'm so excited to get my hands on one of these HGL's. Every new post I see makes me twitch with anticipation.
I only found out recently that @phattpiggie was in the UK too, I might have to ask for some UK stems etc

This is @RastaVapa's gig so he will have to approve it first.
We'd spoken about it and I made mine up out of curiosity and so far it's been fine for my kind of usage.

Don't want to take this off topic but yes the UK seems to be quite bad for herb vapists. I've half converted a few but they still do the combustion
Will give you a mail soon about some future stems etc
I seriously can't wait for this HGL as it will be my first log and desktop.

All the time, wrap it in cotton or hemp fibre
Been sorting out the garden and base for the new workshop everyone so been a bit quiet recently but i really need the bigger workshop so now the better weather is here i am putting some time aside to get it done as when it is i will churn out alot more logs....
Just quickly read through the comments and yes hash i do all the time i either grind it up with the herb or just sit it on top or you can use fibre etc..

It's been a week now and I have been bringing hash back into the rotation again. So far I am really liking it and it turns hitting the HGL into quite the session and it handles it really good. I do think you need hit the hash a bit longer than the flowers as it needs a bit more heat.

One of my friend gave me a good slab of bho and I found some grams of very nice moroccan kief. I like to vape the kief like that but I pressed some grams in rosin too.... yes the HGL handle concentrates very, very well especially using the small all wood wong.
Is there some new HGL owners around....? All of my friends are agree: my Blackwood is definitly the more sexy vape in my collection, so class with the assorted stem!

As soon as some mates saw and used my HGL they were enthusiastic about it. So after some inquiring among my combusting friends I shot a message to @RastaVapa asking if I could order a few more. All was arranged and the waiting began.
After missing the mailman last Saturday I picked up a package from the post office a few hours ago and I received the first one. And what I was afraid of the most became reality.....I want to keep it. I want to keep it bad
This one got a different core than mine it is a bit bigger as well, taller mostly and it has the VPS. I can't wait to give it a spin but it aint mine...So I'll wait till I visit my friend and use it at his place. One less address for me to take mine with me.

I have been experimenting with 25 micron stainless cloth I use for rosin pressing as a wick for concentrates in the log stems, it seems to work really well and I will now include a piece with each log kit, I found that after many rosin presses the cloth is full of resin and can be vaped as it is to clean it or add some fresh oil from the Start..... I am working through list slowly and have sent a few off in the last week and more here ready to send this week coming, Hope everyone is enjoying the weather today... Will try to get some more updates on here later today....

My buddy picked it up yesterday and I quickly ran thru things with him. A few hours later he called me to ask a few things as they were struggling a bit, probably my warnings about it running very hot and he just needed to turn up the knob a bit. So explained some variables within the process and what those variables amount to. An hour later he texted me to say that the steamboat had left the docks. Looking forward to visit him anytime soon.

I don't know if it's very representative of the wait you're likely to face, but my order has been in since July '16. RastaVapa has posted previously saying he's expanding his workshop to increase production, so it's hard to estimate how long your order might take. I think it'll be worth it in any case.
Water tools wise, I bought an FC-MOD for anticipated use with my HGL. It's great (currently use it with a Solo & various Vapcaps), though I'm a fucker for breaking the matrix perc, third one's in the post as I type.

This is actually pretty interesting since I just bought a Dynavap M myself.
I was under the impression that the HGL and the Vapcaps had different measures... do you use a particular attachment for either of them to work with your bong?
I bought the fat mouthpiece along with my M because why not, but I don't really get how this all work...yet!

I was the same, I knew there was a wait list but nothing had even been hinted at till these recent posts. I ended up putting an order in for another log in the mean time as I expect not so see or hear anything till late in the year for this one. Shame there wasn't some sort of indication on wait times but no mind I want a HGL too
