Does cross changing of the controllers really work? I'm in doubt. The analog controller is working at half the wattage than the Digi one. So you can use the analog controller with the new Digi Ti heater at half the power. Guess the up-temping of the Ti just needs more time but reverse? Fear the XL could be damaged when paired with the Digi controller at twice the power as constructed? But who knows I'm no electrician.
But
@Alexis I don't believe you are right with your statement Bud also got an analog controller for his Digi Ti in addition. It was the controller only for the XL. He got 2 complete kits, one Digi Ti and one Xl one. At least it seems so to me.
But I totally agree with you regarding the unboxing and Bud's try and error. It looked very unprepared, negligently and irritating for potential customers who were watching. Neither does this justice to a new device if not proper assembled/ used nor give it the right impression to new customers - and of Seb and his products in this case - if it doesn't work right. Nevertheless I like Bud and his work. But this review was pretty chaotically and lovelessly.
BTW at what temp do you use the Ti? 725 F looked much too high IMO. But I'm only experienced with the analog Ti.
Hey bro. Okay a few misinderstandings to adress. No the DigiTi will ONLY work with the DigiTi controller.
Not the analogue, or the XL. They both run off the analogue controller.
It took Bud some time to figure that out himself, hence you not following 100%. So I hope that is clearer.
And yes I like Bud as well. I think he gets a bit of rap, but essentially is a nice, honest guy. Hes extremely generous, in terms of donating/giving stuff away, but more so with advice and time for everybody. He always sends out only good vibes and sees over a friendly peaceful environment.
But yes I wish he would take a bit more care with these unboxings. Get straight on things first. Be less clumsy. Or at the least, keep a closer eye on the chat while he figures things out.
I am always trying to get his attention to set him straight because I can see he is in a muddle over something, but he perseveres to be confused for ages then finally sees the chat.
Then 2 mins later the same thing happens lol. So a little frustrating.
Btw Hogni, this wasn't the actual final, official review yet. Bud's intention was to do all the filming shots there and edit clips to do the review from, which he will voice over.
Actually, I'm quite relieved that his DigiTi had to be sent back before. He loosened the wire by trying to force the silicone sheath over the heater handle without really being sure how to do it or from which direction and it got stuck and was only half on.
It looked a bit stupid hanging half off of the handle but he left it that way and was going to do the official review with it like that which I didn't think was very good.
And on that same occasion he had already broken the bubbler cleaning it for the review.
So I don't think it would have been fair on Sebastien to take the shots for the official review after having broken the bubbler but also with the silicone sheath not properly installed.
So I think it was a good thing really and now he has the analogue and XL to review as well which will be better for Sebastien in the short and the long run and would not have happened otherwise.
Oh yes, 725 prob is a bit hot. Last time he was getting very good performance on about 670 I believe I tried to remind him of this but he missed my comments.
Mine arrived on 350 C. That works superbly, you really don't need to go higher and you can actually go down to 300 or below and still get very good vapor and extraction. There is a surprisingly large range of temperature where you can enjoy very smooth and large hits without losing out on taste.
