Hello combustion fuckers!
It has been a long time. You may remember me as Alan Partridge. Being the useless stoner I am, I could not remember my password. Was easier to create a new account!
While I haven't been active here, I have been buying new vapes. My quest for the ultimate simulation of smoking without actually smoking has led me to this Herborizer corner. While I have coveted a Subliminator for a long time, it's very expensive and doesn't look too easy to use. But this looked like something that could possibly come close.
Desperate to get one before the Easter weekend, I found one on Vaposhop. I only wanted the Herborizer itself, but the only thing available was the Tube package. Fuck it, I went ahead and purchased.
Package turned up day after they posted it! Quality is excellent. The unit itself is excellently crafted. Tube and glass bits are flawless. No instructions though, either with the unit or online (that I could find) which is a shame.
I gave it a 20 min burn off at max temp before first use. A fair bit of vapour came out of it when doing this. I put the dial down to 7, left it a little while and hit it. WOW! Just fucking WOW. I have never had such a large, dense and nice tasting clouds from a vape before. Really am blown away by the performance of this thing.
The glass tube I didn't think I was going to like - I would have preferred the bubbler - but it's really enjoyable to use. The Herborizer milks it effortlessly, and it really simulates the bong experience as well as is possible with a vaporiser. Lovely bit of glass too.
7 seems to be the best temp to use. Although I have tried 8 a few times for a real POWERFUL hit! Letting it heatsoak for a minute gives it some extra oomph.
I haven't tried the email thing - I doubt I'll bother tbh. Maybe one day.
Bad stuff has been mentioned - it gets very hot and can be awkward to handle. You can grab the TI by the power cord plug, which is cool enough to hold. I have a glass table, I just leave it lying there while turned on. But it really needs a slide on handle and a stand. I found a lot of particles get through the screen into the bubbler. My glass looks filthy after only a couple of days use. I don't think there's a shut off timer, which has got me out of bed to check I have indeed turned it off for the night.
Overall - fucking love this thing. Still in the honeymoon period but it's going to have the top spot on my coffee table for the foreseeable future. Has usurped my MiniVap which was my favourite!
Any tips? Heatsoak or not heatsoak? Stir or not stir? Max temp you've pushed it to?
This is why i love this piece so much:
The fact that there is a flat section just beneath the bowl that water never reaches means the nasties that fall through all get stuck there and nothing ends up in the water.
I have literally gone two weeks without a clean on this piece and it was fine (i did change water daily though). All it took was a warm water rinse after two weeks and it looked brand new again. I could probably get away with changing the water once a week, but that's a bit gross....
When i first got the Ti i experimented with heating the nail off of the bowl, or on the bowl, and really in the end it is far more convenient to leave it on, i also get more consistent results that way.
You can get great taste by heating the nail to a higher temp and then dropping on a cold bowl, but it is harder to find that perfect vapour window consistently i found.
Now I just heat the nail 5 minutes or so on the bowl, anywhere from 5.5 to 6.5 depending of the time of day or the hit i want. To me the perfect hit is at 6. 7 starts to taste of popcorn, and i am surprised you managed 8 without combusting!
I warm everything up, load the warm bowl to the middle of the handle more or less, hit it straight away twice in a row, use my Brebbia pipe tool to stir once, tamper, hit one last time, dump AVB.
Also, just in case you haven't seen my o-ring fix previously, you can easily find silicon or viton o-rings and use them as a heat shield on the handle.
Inside diameter of 10mm and thickness of 4mm is perfect. I first got orange silicon ones, then replaced them with black viton ones.
It's much nicer than using the power cord to lift the handle.

PS: i wonder if this thread will ever get someone who isn't impressed by this vape!
