Almost there...
Any of you folks also have experience with the Herbalizer? I would like to know how this stacks up. It seems like I am reading some good feedback here as of late!

I still have and use my Herbie occasionally, definitely not near as much as i used to in the beginning.
For a super fast session i turn to Herbie, in and out dash and Herbie is always up for it!

All my other vapes have 5+ minute heat up times.

I prefer the vapor quality from my H.A. on most occasions so long as i do not use my Hydra Tube!
I find the first hit has amazing flavour but then it goes bad quite quickly.
This never happens with any other WT i own, must be the design of the HT.
My ABV comes out the same colour after two hits with the HT and more like 8+ hits on any other WT.

Best flavor so far comes from my mini Peyote pillar from DHgate.

Sorry got off track there, bad idea to hit the Elite and reply...
Back on topic!

I find that i can use less in my Elite and still get as or more medicated than when i used more in the Herbie.
Herbie bags are still the best i have ever tasted! Concentrates, flowers, shatter etc all taste amazing!
The HA bags are possibly better being they are so strong, they really kick my ass!!

Both can be hooked up to a WT, althouth the Elite wins with it's TonG.
Both are easy to load and maintain. Herbie has a few more bits to clean.
Both are digital but i would imagine that the Herbie is far more accurate in temp control!
Herbie is an all in one unit, while the HA has a separate pump.
HA wins with the price for similar features.
HA wins with bullet proof design!

They are both very versatile machines and if you can have both, you will have everything you need!
I use my HA Elite daily while the Herbie gets used a few times a month.
I love the PV GonG for the Elite, taste is great and clouds a bit bigger from conduction element.

I do not see the Elite being bumped from Number 1 any time soon.

I still can't put my finger on this one.... so vapour is flowing into the INTAKE of the next up hA in the chain? Wouldn't it condense on the heater? Sorry, i'm beyond xmas hA elite medicated level!!

Elite meduicated is awesome!
Little bit of Master Kush tonight.

I am with you as i would want to see the airflow path before i daisy chain anything together.
Not quite sure how the air flows through the heater.

@lazylathe and @biohacker These are exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping to hear. My wallet is upset with you (especially with vapolution 3 just coming out and Zion and grasshopper both ordered up), but I'm really liking what I'm hearing.

I find them to be more complimentary than competitive. Until someone else comes up with a top notch vape that heats up instantly I will always have my Herbalizer. It depends on what you are looking for.

That instant heat up can be a lifesaver at times! In the elite's defence though, it only takes a couple of minutes until it is truly heated unlike some others that take 5-10+ minutes. At first I was a bit bummed about the 1/2 hour shut off timer, but then when I realized just how fast it heats up again I actually like it!

Going to start testing with some throttling of the air intake... wondering if I can increase the vapour density since it's quite airy with all that air flow!

Both are digital but i would imagine that the Herbie is far more accurate in temp control!

Quoted from each vapourizer website's listed specifications:

Herbalizer:

The Herbalizer heats your favorite herbs and oils to within +/- 5°F (+/- 3°C), instantly.

Herbalaire:

Temperature control (accurate within +/- 1°C, or +/- 2°F) allows for optimal vaporization temperature. HerbalAire's Learning Temperature control adapts to the climate and environment where it is being used.

Kind of guessing with the analog dial though, that is all i meant to say.
EDIT: @nicelytoasted With my Elite, when i set it to say 188 and vape for a bit. Then decide to turn it down to my usual starting point of 186, my digital display always reads at least +-4 degrees hotter than my previously set temp.
Start at 188, move down to 186 and the display will read +-192 and cool down to 186.

Does anyone use their Elite with a few different WT designs?
I ask because i am noticing that my spent herb comes out in different shades depending on which WT i used.
When i use my Swagger HT or my custom InCycler the ABV is a lot darker.
When using my FC-711 or my Atomic perc the ABV is a lot lighter.
Anyone else notice this?

Thanks @lazylathe.

It's not really about the accuracy of the temp, as it is about the precision of attaining & holding the temp to the value selected, imo. With it's temp control, combined with it's superior heat retention and insulation, the HA is able to maintain that selected temp to within +/- 2F every time, even under draw loads.

I was always impressed at how little the heater comes on, once the HA comes up to temp, compared to other vapes.

I have noticed somewhat of an interesting phenomena with the Herbalizer in this area as well, as is discussed by @Engineer (inventor) and I in the relevant thread. @lazylathe, remember when using the Herbalizer fan to cool down the temp, and then turning the device off and on and see that the temperature is actually higher than was initially displayed? The Herbalizer has a super fast heat up, but its cool down isn't the same, which can make a big difference in usability when more than one user is playing.

I have noticed that my Elite has hit temps of 212c when I drop its temp and it's calibrated to +10. I've had it calibrated to max recently in order to extract from micro loads and get more satisfying higher temp thicker vapour.

Sometimes I want to extract faster than the hA will let me..... i've started to grind for this reason, even though the flavour turns sour alot faster. I could lower the temp, but then I get only whispies. Starting to enjoy the PV gong alot more than the crucible/tong.

With all this talk about temperature accuracy and the Herbalizer, there are definitely pretty huge differences between both vaporizers....for instance, the hA max temp is 200c whereas the Herbalizer is 229c. The difference is noticeable.

Tried out bags for the first time and WOW! Very nice tasty great vapour, but i'm noticing that they LEAK at the valve! Any tips?

@lazylathe, i'm sad to report that your OG Weedstar Insane Bell perc, that PV just repaired the mouthpiece on, has sadly passed on. I wish I had a video of the impressive ninja-like acrobatics, but as impressive as they were, when the glass hit the hardwood the entire perc column separated and busted! Ofcourse the mouthpiece is intact as is the rest of its exterior! R.I.P., good thing I picked up that backup during GC's sale! I blame it on the new puppy distracting me! lol

Whatever voodoo the Elite has inside it, i like it A LOT!!!
Still rotating a few vapes but the Elite is my go to vape everyday now!
PV GonG with micro loads are my favorite way to hit this vape.
May not be the cloudiest vape at lower temps but the effects far outweigh the need for clouds.

Oh No!! LOL!! It had a good life while it lasted! Replaced by the same model so no learning curve!
I just bought one of these guys:

Hoping it extracts like my small incycler with more space for the Elite to fit on!

That glass piece looks awesome! What calibration do you use your Elite on? How did you make the basket screen? I think that simple screen could make a huge difference in my enjoyment of the Elite. I'm now finding myself exclusively using max temp at +10. I like FAST EXTRACTION and that seems to be the only way without having to use the pump?

I have mine set at +4 and mainly use from 186C and upwards.

I made the basket screen from and old basket module, just cut off the rim and it was a perfect fit.
Think it was from my MiniVap. When we meet up i will bring you one!
What i have started to do is place the screen as far in as it can go into the GonG and then load a thin layer of herb. Compress it with my finger and load the GonG. Heat soak for 20 - 30 seconds and let rip.

I tried to remove the rim from an EQ elbow screen and messed it all up! lol I have a bunch more so I will leave them for you to modify!

I've only used +10 and default -3 so i'll try +4 and see how it goes...

Remember that i like lighter vapor...
Not the super dense lung busters you like...LOL!!

BUT, i do get totally brown and even ABV at 170C as well, so this thing performs well at any temp.

Just modded my Volcano Easy Valve to be used with my Elite and herbalizer!
One bag to rule them all! LOL!

EDIT: The bags that come with the Elite are not good!!
Leaks all up and down the seams of a brand new bag... So sad to see vapor streaming from the side of a half full bag...
Valve mod works well, so switching over to an older Herbalizer bag!

Don't worry the service warranty is good and eficient. Can i ask you where you live?

i live in Germany. The return etc will be a bit of a hazzle. Have to talk with the shop where i purchased the HA Elite.

I have a quick and urgent question. I need a replacement Herbalaire. And i need i to order it NOW :)
Will the HA 2.2 will be ok as a future backup unit if i liked the HA elite?

And will it be okay for a heavy user? i fear (after the Elite broke within 1 week) that i am using it too much... Anyone using it 10 to 20 times a day?

Agreed, I have an elite which is of course newer than my h2.2 which has had over 5x a day usage for 8+ years and still running like the first day I got it.

Sorry i can´t help you. I burned 3 elites and a h.2.2. Herbalaire sendme replacements from Canada in 2 weks, so it´s fast. And I send the brocken devices to Prague. I`m in a special case, because many of the users don't have any problems and still using the HA from 5-8 years without problems. For this reason i asked where are you from, i'm from Spain and im triyng to discover the cause of my problems (probably dirty line).

Anyway is a good idea to keep in advice HA about your problems to help in future devices.

@smokingjoe I would not fear using the Elite as much as you want. As for the 2.2, I myself would not be satisfied with it for a backup due to its limitation of temperature. If the Elite was calibrated as stock, its max temp of 200c just isn't enough for my needs. For my wife it's great, she starts at 160c and ramps up to 170 or sometimes higher, but for me it's just not satisfying. The ability to calibrate the unit to +10 makes a HUGE difference for my enjoyability.

It all depends if you are more of a higher temp effects and cloud chaser like me, or prefer thinner lighter clouds with maximal absorption over time. I love caching bowls in one rip!

Thanks for the answer. I start at 170c and go up to but 200c is max for me. I dont need clouds. I need medication and the HA Elite did just that in great form. But just 1 week..

Well it sounds like it is perfect for you. Not sure what else to say other than use a good surge protector. I torture both of mine at max temp +10 without a hiccup for hours on end.

I do wonder if calibrating it to +10 has any detrimental effect on the unit itself? Essentially the unit was designed to be operated at an actual max temperature of 200c and all the components used will have been selected with that in mind. also, could this affect the warranty at all?

I have the Elite and have yet to try this. I thought about and possibly will consult with the manufacturer on this before proceeding.

I have consulted, and I reported about it in a previous post here. It's not an issue IMO and i'll take my chances with warranty, because without this ability to bump up the top end, I would not be interested in this vape for my vape-bong needs. Night and day, it's a completely different vape at +10 than the default -03 both of my Elites were set to.

I don't bother with the tong anymore, the stock bags are useless essentially due to leakage and using the pv gong is amazing!

Still my favourite desktop vape of all time!

EDIT:

Found the post regarding Calibration.

So hA does not recommend adjusting the calibration, as it takes the unit closer to combustion temps (i've never come close even at +10) as can be illustrated by @lazylathe recent temperature experiments. They indicated that it could get close to tripping their thermal fuse, but that I shouldn't have a problem and it still shouldn't happen. They explained how they never intended for the unit to reach those higher temps, because they don't like the hybrid vapour/smoke and wanted a unit that was only Vaporizing! Kind of reminds me of the VripTech in this regard. They also calibrate with a probe going into the air intake, which they explain is more accurate than the heating chamber.
