I guess I would more compare it to the BCG Stainless version at $200 rather than the OMD. Odin makes an aluminum version for $50. You can even get 10% off for signing up for the news letter as well. I got in early and somehow only paid like $62. Hoping this is my last grinder but you know how that goes.

Looks nice!Not sure if anyone has already posted about this new stainless grinder. So far I love mine. I’ve had a Space Case, LIFT and Brilliant Cut. This is by far the best value I’ve seen. Grinds as good as a brilliant cut at half the price. This should be the next big grinder.

I did ask if where it was made but they didn’t respond to that email. Not sure on the Stainless. Feels very solid.

FYI, VDN (Berlin) is selling a knockoff of the BCG for a fraction of the price.
I've ordered one and it came real quick in the mail (3 days), as usual with VDN. Here's what you can expect :
It's made in china (obviously) out of 6063 AL. (The same alloy used for the Krush grinders). The friction ring is said to be POM so iso safe.
It's 62mm in diameter and dosen't have a centering geometry for the grinding parts like the BCG have.
Only a medium plate is offered, teeth are different from a BCG but the teeth and hole pattern is very similar.
Magnets are strong, it nicely slap together.
Tolerances are not as tight as something like the Krush Kube (can't compare with the BCG 'cause I don't have one).
Surface finish looks sandblasted (very finely grainy), not slick like the Krush grinder . I'll let you know how the hash buildup, I've just received 20g of sticky stuff.
The top logo looks printed rather than laser engraved so i'll try different solvents to get rid of it.
Apart from light machining marks in the grinding plate, its pretty well finished. I had to Lightroom the last picture to make the marks more visible. It comes with a nice synthetic velvet pouch, a scrapper too small to be useful, and a tiny brush that can attach to a keyring.
the grey is nice (pictures don't do it justice), but I kind of regret not getting the black. It would have been easier to see if there was AL shavings…
There's also a titanium version at 200 €………

I was thinking about a BCG then I started to read this thread. That may have been a mistake! I have a few questions that hopefully you all could help we with.
- Is there an advantage to a threadless grinder?
- How does size matter? (please limit your comments to only really funny ones) My use is solely at home, and I tend to grind 1/8 or less at a time.
- I use a DynaVap and a Solo3. Does this affect which grinder or plate I should consider?
- Note: I just found this thread on grind size
- How do you use your grinder? Do you grind and serve up your herb from the grinder and use the grinder for storage? Do you grind just what you are going to use for the day? Do you grind a goodly amount and store in a mason or other storage jar?
- What else do I need to consider?

1. Threadless is easier to use for me. Old arthritic hands that get trigger finger on occasion.
2. The large one works best for me. See 1 above.
3. I use a Dynavap and a Tinymight. The course grind is my choice for my usage.
4. I grind a bud at a time and use the grinder for storage. It's temporary storage after all.
5. The BCG seems to stay cleaner than the others I have used.

1. Yes, definitely.
2. 2" to 2.5" should suit you fine. No need for a bigger one. Smaller means easier to store / conceal, too.
3. Do you stab load from the grinder? If you do, then you may find the center post in the BCG 'in the way', compared to something else like a Zam.
As far as grind size... I started with fine, then moved to coarse for a *long* time. Recently moved back to the fine plate. Don't have a medium.
I load my Anvil's oven (magnetic) from the center post (opposite of a Dyna); it works great for me.
4. I grind what I need for the next few hours, and store / load from the grinder (most of the time).
5. Other considerations:
- Needed grip / turning strength, especially if you're arthritic, etc. If you're grip-limited, the Aroma3 may be a good choice (but grips cost extra).
- If you're afraid of a coating / anodization wearing... get an uncolored (silver) one.

2) Larger can grind more at a time. I only like to grind enough for 1-3 bowls at a time, so the standard sized BCG works great for me
3) I used to use a Solo 2 and the medium grind BCG works great on that and I think for most vapes.
4) I scoop it out of the bottom compartment and dump it into a custom funnel on the bowl of the vape.
5) The thing I love most about the BCG is that I never have to clean it. Every other grinder (all no-name ones) would need to be fully soaked in ISO and scrubbed with a brush to clean them out every few weeks or they would be so gummed up that it was hard to unscrew, and impossible to twist and grind. I have NEVER cleaned the BCG, have been using it for almost 2 years, many times a day, every day. Works just as good as the day I got it.

If you're talking about anodized aluminum options, the silver ones are the same as the colored, the only difference is you won't notice the wearing as easily, but it is still happening btw FYI those people with strong concerns over this issue should always go for stainless steel if possible then really
All grinders tend to work better if you break up the nugs to remove stems and carefully load between the teeth, it's tedious but taking the time often leads to a better more consistent grind regardless of the size...
BCG is great for a variety of reasons including no threading and high quality, but also the design with side teeth in the lid prevent it from locking up, along with that centerpiece if you do load more carelessly I suppose... OMD is really great for stainless steel, with the bearing it practically grinds for you automatically, although can be a little tough to get going with dense sticky nugs loaded as anything can at first, also don't have quite as much control over the grind since you cannot swap the plate or turn it upside down, like you can with BCG to get much more control... And yes BCG has many sales during those times and others

- Their next sale starts Nov 11th. As they said... you can try and wait until then, for the sale price, but there (apparently?) aren't any more seconds going to drop in the near-term. So if you miss them, they're gone. (btw... I'm practically quoting them, not trying to be a smart-ass). That sale price will be -15% (this is standard, for them).

Ah. So, then... it's not just the anodization wearing, it's the actual metal behind it? I didn't know that. I had looked at mine pretty closely (no microscope), when I saw the color removed, and determined there was no actual metal wear. I guess that should be modified to 'yet'.
Will keep an eye on this, but I'm guessing any 'damage' to me... is probably already done, at this point. Along with every other contaminant ingested over the last 60 years...

Sorry maybe I confused you, it is still the coating or whatever anodizing process, when you see silver as a color option, it is not naked, it is just silver color anodizing is all I'm saying, so it is the same as getting any other color when they are all anodized aluminum, finding raw would be more rare
Yessir! Anodization is an electrically applied oxide coating. That coating has a columnar micro pore structure. Those pores can hold dye molecules if applied in a second step. But plenty of things are anodized and left colorless. The anodized oxide coating is tougher than natural atmospheric oxidation, so it helps reduce wear.

Silly me wanted to support Australian, and I now have a collection of shitty, overpriced stainless steel grinders that chip and flake, sold by a guy who claims that foreign matter (stainless steel) in your grind is entirely normal and acceptable.

The crazy thing is that the Grinderoo in question has barely even been used because I only ever use the OMD!
