After using no-name/gods-know-what-sort-of-metal 2-piece grinders for 20 yrs and another 13 before that tearing my herb apart like a savage, this summer I determined that in order to fuck combustion properly I deserved proper kit. I got an amazing deal on the big GRT8R jar from Kannastor's website, I opted for the all metal as the acrylic seemed to be the weak link in reviews. I use the coarse plates since I have a Nano & Solo 2 and that's what they like. I also picked up a small titanium SC 2-piece for traveling beyond 2 days. IME, the key to keeping any grinder happy is periodic cleaning. Especially if you're blessed with very sticky goodies.
After noting in this thread (and FC in general) what many folks I have come to respect do in regards to their ground material I'm now considering what I do
after I grind. Typically, I dump from grinder to a storage puck or a boro petri dish/lid. I usually grind enough for a day or so, I don't weigh just eyeball. Then I pinch and load as I go. I've used the screen since getting it but now I want to remove it; it's not enough saved to get fussed about, especially at the expense of the
now. All this talk of lost pollen from
@FlyingLow and others has got me tripping! With the screen out, I'll have a big day-to-day storage container with a removable bottom to get to everything easier when needed. I'll try using a scoop I have but for the small amounts I typically load in the Nano it's easier to pinch for me. But the idea that I lose a bit of pollen at every stage is now a new neurosis for me, thank you so much dear fuckers! I like my pollen!
I love learning so much at FC, I had settled in a rut combusting but vaping has opened up a new world of ideas and possibilities. I guess being in the UK without a cannabis community so to speak, I was completely unaware of so much about cannabis and vaporization in unlocking its potential. I also felt alone as a medical user; my doctors know and agree but beyond that I'm on my own. Kinda wonderful to change and grow and continue to learn as one gets older, and to be welcomed into this unique community has drastically improved my daily outlook & knowledge even if I might spend too much time here!
