Love how those marry, thanks for sharing your cool discovery. Not as long as you would think, but it does hold a surprisingly large amount 8.5-9 grams.
I will only need to top it off once every week or so
I use my medium spacecase to bust everything up quick then finish with the MFLB grinderIt took forever to do 4g with my SCS nano.
I personally own a nano SCS and I will be buying a medium sized one on thusday. I will post if there are different results or what my opinion is. I need the bigger grinder to hold my "sharing" bud while the nano is for my personal stuff
Any update on this?
Cheers

I thought I would throw up a picture or two of my MFLB finishing grinder and my santa cruze shredder storage container, they fit together really nicely(not snug, but really nice)
If someone was looking for a good portable container to use with the MFLB grinder I will now recommend these together because the circular "rim" of the grinder stays inside the container
Yes actually. I have found the small/medium (whatever the size up from the smallest one is) catches WAY more kief than the smaller one but DOES NOT produce NEARLY as fine of a grind as the small one does.
I also find the bigger one stays cleaner compared to the smaller one (ie less res around the threads)
EDIT: I also have since purchased a MFLB finishing grinder and will have you all know that the finishing grinder used after either a SC or SCS grind will grind anything to pretty much powder while still keeping all of them stems out. Its something else when used with the MFLB + Water adapter.
I cant imagine any size being easy to put directly into a Jyar. My solution is to fold a piece of paper in half, pour the herb out onto that then use the crease to funnel the ground herb into the Jyar with a poker or dabber. Super easy.
Thanks @SirDarkened. This is very interesting. Your experience in getting a finer grind with the mini is consistent with what others have posted earlier in the thread. Are you achieving this intentionally (i.e. by using the grinder sideways or upside down)? I was looking at the size of the holes in the mini (which appear to me to be bigger than those of the small/medium) and thought that if you used the grinder upright it might produce a courser grind than the larger models. Is this the case, and if so, does the herb come out with good consistency when the grinder is kept upright?
Also, I was wondering which size SCS would be easier to tip herb out of into a bowl or a small container like Jyarz accurately? All things being equal, the smaller diameter should pour better than the larger one, although the mini SCS is shallower and has different shaped walls which might detract from this.
Collecting less kief sounds good to me. I can only assume you are collecting less because less is being knocked off the buds.

@SirDarkened, Thanks very much for your detailed response. Based on the information you've given, I think the small will be better than the mini for me. If I was only using the Solo with a screen and sucking up the herb I would go for the mini, but as I like to tip herb into my T1 bowl the small will have a broader range of use for me. Having not so finer grind is good also as my T1 won't clog so much and it will be better for using the solo without a screen.
As a bonus, I can get the small in irie colours .
Thanks again. One more question though. Which SCS produces more kief, the mini or the small? Your last two posts seem to contradict each other on this.
Cheers

Why would you think in terms of "degrade"? This brand, Space Case, or any number of others will grind just fine. As far as brands go, don't overthink your decision. How much would getting the large (not jumbo) SCS degrade the quality of the grind?
So, I've been thoroughly disabused of my notion that the Zeus is anything but a marketing scam. I used to just consume for recreational purposes, but now I'm very sick and I need it to get through treatment.
I have the Piranha, but I never really loved it. And, as I've recently noticed, the metals will come off in land in your product. I was grinding some herbs that were difficult to grind (for this grinder) and when I looked in the chamber, I saw aluminum shavings. I don't think the Piranha holds up well, I don't think the teeth placement is great, you can get aluminum shavings, and I wouldn't recommend anyone buy it. Why did I buy it? I was new to it all and some guy took advantage of the fact that I didn't know any better. I had a list of grinders I'd read about and he told me, "Don't get caught up in names, blah, blah..." which, upon reflection, was because he didn't have those grinders. Eh. You live and you learn.
Is there a consensus on which grinder is best for medication? As some of you know, I have a Solo. A person here has said that he was leaning toward the Space Case, but that now he's headed toward the Santa Cruz Shredder. I am headed that way too. Does anyone have any information that might cause me to reconsider the SCS for this purpose?
I've seen that you get a finer result from the mini, but when I get to the point in my therapy, which will be in a few days, I'm gonna be really weak and not in great shape to be grinding up my herbs. I wanna be able to grind up enough for a few sessions. How much would getting the large (not jumbo) SCS degrade the quality of the grind?

Larger grinders are easier to turn, and with a 2 pc. you'll have to turn more to get a fine grind. With a 4 pc. the hole size determines your consistency unless you turn it upside down for a finer grind.
I have a large SCS. It chews through multiple grams at once without looking twice. I also find the size good for torque and grip. It's a good product and will serve you well.
Also consider getting some Jyarz.

One of these will hold about 4 grams of ground herb without needing to pack it in there tightly. Also the containers are the most effective thing out there (IMO) for keeping your herb fresh since they are completely air/water/smell/light proof. I used to pregrind all my bud and just store it in those. Even after over a month the ground bud hadnt dried out at all and retained all its flavor/smell. Should help for when you're too ill to grind fresh every time.
Why buy such an expensive grinder when you can go on eBay and find the Ti grinders for about 20 or less? I have been using this grinder and it grinds well but I guess SCS is the way to go if you wanna have quality. Since using my eBay grinder, grinds are consistent and builds up kief really fast. It had save me money and time altogether so I'd vouch that it is worth it. And I barely found any chippings from my grinder. Customer service was great. They want to make sure you're happy with your grinder. So any problems and you just send back the grinder if you find any mistakes and they even double check for errors before shipping. I would address to them you want a error-free grinder (mine had a chipped tooth) in an e-mail to make sure. Not sure if it is fully Ti but it looks nice to me.
