Herb Grinders

I was wondering if I could get some more info on this grinder.

Would it compliment my Santa Cruz Shredder? It looks like a grinder designed for grinding a lot of weed fast. Also, how does the grind compare to other grinders?

Thanks!
I had the mendo 4 pc before switching over to the 4pc Santa cruz. The Mendo did a good job and collected allot more kief than the Santa. But the Santa does a much better job grinding and is smoother and faster. The Santa cruz i would give a 10 the mendo i say a 7.Plus i don't believe Mendo is around anymore to honor their lifetime warranties.

That would be complEment, and the answer is yes. You can use the Mendo to cut/slice your bud, so the square teeth? on the Santa Cruz have an easier time (unless your herb is nice and dry). The two Mendo's I've owned are fine if you want a coarse grind. Can't even call it a grind, since it just slices through the bud and then spins. Personally, I'd put this brand in last place on my list.

Oh looks like they are up and running again. The vape grinder I'm sure is the same design as before. Again the mendo is not bad but for about the same price I would say the Santa Cruz is a much more refined piece.

Is there any downside to storing your bud in your grinder??
I have 2 Cosmic's. One 4 piece Large and one 4 piece Jumbo. The Jumbo is huuuge
I was thinkin about getting some jeeyarz but don't know if it would be worth it because I usually never get more than a half at a time
I'll store it in the Jumbo for weeks though. Crazy keif at the end!

It could dry out if it's not air-tight but most of the better grinders are these days. There's even a few companies machining aluminum stash jars. It's my understanding it's perfectly safe unless aluminum is exposed to some high temps then you need to be careful.

Don't know of any grinders that are really air tight. There has to be a little play between the two grinder sections. Any humidity at all will cause your kief to stick to the grinder. I wouldn't keep it there any longer than it takes to grind.

Referring to; "Our superior magnets provide a reliable lid closure system that prevents your herbal blends from drying out, accidental spillage, and escaping odors." SCS also has some marketing materials out that refer to a distinct "pop" when removing the lid but its too early to find that.

Recently got a SCS but I've had a SC for a while. So far I've not noticed any difference between them drying out, but I've also never noticed any humidity problems with my grinders. Sometimes I'll leave it in for 2-3 days. Humidity could be a location thing, on the Northern East Coast that isn't a very big worry. Especially now in fall/winter. Any stickiness I've experienced has been there from the start.

I pregrind all my herb with the SCS then transfer everything to Jyarz containers. Now I only put 3.5g in each Jyar but ive yet to have flavor, potency, or aroma degrade even over 3 to 4 weeks time.

just received my small two-piece santa cruz shredder and WOW, i am thoroughly impressed with this thing. the build quality and grinding prowess have far exceeded my expectations. i can't believe it took me this long to buy one...

bigger than i thought it would be, especially for grinding one mflb trench at a time. having said that, i wouldn't go smaller.

I have always took care of my grinders, not dropping them or abusing them. I like to make grinder hash when they get gunked tha eff up. But how often are you guys cleaning your grinders? And what other maintenance is there? I am currently rocking an "ez grind" that my dealer gave me, i lost my diamond grind FULLLLLLL of kief while hiking last fall :(

Any cleanings tips for grinders or general maintenance?

I always clean mine when they get some plant material on the rims and start to impede the grinding motion a little. I just scrub with a toothbrush and some ISO alcohol. I never try to reclaim anything with a soak- just not enough there for me, for the effort involved. There's no other maintenance needed. I would avoid loading any buds with anything but the smallest stems. That should cut down on wear and tear on the teeth.

I do exactly the same with my SCS and it's like the first day.

I still stubbornly perform the ritual every 6 months, of all favorite grinders.

and I still vape the reclaim in one large ball... I find the familiar act comforting!

Definitely could grind half an ounce in 30 seconds, it definitely works well I haven't tried cleaning it in the dishwasher yet but ISO'd it and you can really take apart every piece to really ensure its 100% clean.

It works pretty simply, put a quarter in each side, push down while twisting, pennies fall out. There are two blades, one is fixed.

I just placed an order for a black 2.75 inch Santa Cruz Shredder last night.

It came to ~$77 with the 10% discount code. I was a little upset today because I came across vapeworld.com's offer and it came to $60 shipped with the 25% discount code (ends today).

So, I submitted a site inquiry about price matching and received a call from Josh@SCS not long after explaining that VW.com is a wholesaler and that he'd give me a unique discount code worth $15 to use towards my next purchase.

How does the Santa Cruz stack up to the Space Case? Anyone have both and can do a quick comparison? Over time?

I have and still use both.
Both of these beat out the majority of others.
I only use 2 piece small and mediums for daily use.
The Santa Cruz seems to go longer without me feeling that it is time for an Iso bath to clean it up.
Both, when highly lined with trichs and residuals (and kief) are hard to "get started" if packed tightly with nug. The santa cruz has a grip on one side that is easier to grab, and better torque due to a top that is thicker, so getting it going is easier.
