Oh yeah I forgot, that picture with the red knives is the pic that made me want a red one! Looks like she didn't get damaged at all!

However I chose to give in to temptation and use the black one I have everything went beautifully!! Regarding the "fluff" or THC crystals our friend was talking about 1 page back. The color black is worth this sight alone. You look at your herb in a different way. As in "Holy shit I cant believe how Crystally this shit is". If you want to impress your friends get this in black and grind you herbs.. They will swear you get the best stuff around!

My only gripes are the fact that I bought a 2 pc. And I am used to a 4 piece, pretty much getting my herb out is a bitch...unless I pour it on paper or put it all in my hand(which defeats the purpose of all that keif in there).

So how about SCS make a 3 piece grinder...you know just to satisfy me and all = P

Speaking of 3 piece grinders anyone use any that are worthwhile? I know they exist!

I used a 4pc for a year or so then switched to the 2pc.
The issue of what to do with the ground herb did seem daunting at first, but I found a system that worked for me.

I use a blank piece of textbook paper and two business cards folded lengthwise to scrape up the ground herb and pour into a vaporizer chamber or small jar. There's probably a better way but I've yet to find one.

If the herb is properly dried then it should pop out of a 2pc grinder without banging the two pieces together.

Instead of losing crystals to the paper process, you guys could perhaps be dropping that herb into a pollen box... I was surprised how many crystals I was losing without it...

To get my herb out of my SCS after I grind, I use a rubber mallet (a reflex hammer, actually) to lightly smack the herb and crystals into the box... works like a dream and is rather (somewhat) idiosyncratic...doesn't damage the shredder at all.

Also, card grinders work great for reeling in rogue trichomes... a lot better than they work for grinding, in my opinion.

I've been looking into pollen boxes lately for dumping the load into. Just can't decide on one I want and the fact any decent (looking) ones don't want to ship to Canaduhh.

I'm kinda hooked on the Hazemaker boxes at the moment so far, and know many love their quality. Love the idea of a stainless steel 100 mesh to do some sifting for sure

I almost went with Hazemaker, but ended up choosing Exotic Zombie mostly because of the name.
The stainless steel screens are awesome.

I don't use mine much for shaking, more just as a workstation. I can't imagine the overall grinding and readying process without it now. Though, I sort of wish I had bought one just a little bit bigger.

I'm surprised pollen boxes aren't bigger on FC.

But to get back to grinders.... man, that red SCS is eye-catching. I wish I had went with it or with black instead of "medical silver" like I always choose. Those things have real style.

Although, for the record, mine was slightly scratched when it arrived. I'm guessing that's why the distributor had it on sale! Grr.

Still the best grinder I've ever used, though. Won't use any other kind anymore.

The pollen boxes or whatever they're called seem pretty applicable to busters though. One reason I don't want a 4 piece is because I want my thing to last forever and I want to easily have a fine grind. But the pollen box thing seems kind of neat, especially as a little general work station. If anyone knows of any nice looking ones that ship to Canada at a reasonable enough price, I'd appreciate a link or two.

If anything, the 4 pc. design would last longer since the ground bud leaves the grinding chamber as soon it can pass through the holes. In real world terms, the difference between the two, as far as wear and tear on the teeth, is negligible/unimportant. I've used a couple of my grinders for 6-7 years and they still work just fine. Don't try to process big stems and in my experience the grinder will keep on grinding for a long long time.

The only time I didnt take out the big stems was the first time I used it, just to show it off. Since then I have been keeping a quality control hand screening process before anything goes in the SCS for shredding.

4pc grinders include threads that are more prone to problems. It seems obvious to me that a threadless 2pc would be ”more durable”. That being said I think with the proper care they are all durable enough for our needs.

I like the 4 piece since it holds the shredded bud nicely for me whenever I need it. If it fails and stops giving me the kief, so be it. As long as it keeps shredding, its functional IMO. Now, a close up.

Which vape are you using? With a solo stem you can just use it like a straw to suck the herb into it. For my cloud I am using a silicone tube connected to a 18mm female joint that I put the ELB into. I suck the herb into that. It works decent unless the grinder teeth are abnormally big.

It's because of the screen. A 4-piece without full functionality is a giant waste of space and I don't place any value on the holes in it (if anything, a negative value for a non-fully functional unit).

I'm looking for an excellent grinder to pair with my vaporizer. I currently have a 2pc medium piranha and I hate it. It gunks up / gets stuck after three or so vape sessions.

What is the best grinder in terms of gunk prevention? I'm pretty sure the issue with my grinder is the two pieces aren't all that flush. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Yeah but everyones situation is different so for me I find it beneficial. I love the 4 piece because I dont have to empty out the bud into anything. I just take my solo stem and load right from the grinder without transferring it or touching the herb. Sounds small but the convenience is great and once I used the 4 piece it was hard imagining using a 2 piece with a sheet of paper or whatever.

SCS is actually definitely better than SC I've decided. My 4" mammoth busts tiny single buds better than my medium Space Case by far. I'd say the small bud would work in my small Space Case with that said though, but still, the fact that a giant buster can bust a tiny thing better than SC's smaller buster says a lot to me.

Ah, yeah, I see what you mean now. Yeah, that can be pretty cool actually, though I was thinking of getting one of those pollen boxes to do that with. Still not entirely sure when I'll do that though. For now I just dump the stuff into one of the Roor ashtrays I have. The one from EveryoneDoesIt.com that comes with the pack of 10 king sized papers fits a medium Space Case PERFECTLY for the record. You can take the bottom piece of the medium SC, put the ashtray on top of it, flip, and hit, and it's a pretty clean transfer. All the same, I still prefer my SCS, haha, but it's nice to have options.

Mine didn't come with one either. So I made my own,

Find some Polystyrene, or #6 plastic. This is a sandwich container from a gas station.

Cut to shape, it's shrinks to 1/3rd original size

Bake @325 for 3-5 minutes.

Shrinky dink Scrapers, . Pretty solid and works great so far. Doesn't seam to rub the plastic off like my cheap scraper from my $20 grinder.

I instantly perform the motions in my mind, and feel a buzz in my brain LOL. Then I realize it was all a trick! Do that 1000 times and the day goes by hella quickly.
I havent really been using the Pax during work like I did before, so working on ways to avoid a quick sesh is always needed. What color SCS did you get Finch?

funny thing is.. I got a green one that looks JUST like this with my meds in it! I must say that this is the best grinder out there seeming that i've tried about 5 before getting to this one. you know the black rubber that's along the twist off.. Mine is coming loose, but I will use a little super glue to put that back up there. I was just so happy with the product I didn't really feel like taking it back and having to clean it because I prolly put about this amount in the picutre above before I noticed it lol. so it would be pretty greeny if you know what I mean. what vape do you use with it?

I use the HA with my Planetvape GonG adapter. The thing milks like a tank on my Mobius piece. Before my SCS n GonG, I would just throw a chunk of tree in the crucible, but now the shredded tree is a definite plus in the thickness department and with the 4piece I just slide it in the compartment shown above and it fills nicely. I use the metal crucible to fill my Pax now.
