OF might’ve been standing left. Yeah, we in the Northeast (I’m in MA) went from Fall to Winter in day - and about a foot of snow total in a couple of days. One of my favorite pastimes is to take a vape outside before and during shoveling, including my F2. Though it has been a bit neglected recently with the return of my Grasshopper...
With the Hopper, it’s a hotter and shorter vapor path. While my Hoper was in RMA for a year my dual Furies served dutifully as my daily drivers, always reliable, smooth, flavorful(!) and effective. With the return of my Hopper and using it daily again, it’s a bit harsher but I got used to it (and love the quicker heat up time and that I can take one or two rips and be done for bit). The Furies not so much and I almost feel guilty taking one or two draws, well within the 4 minute timer, and turning it off before time runs out. But here’s the good rub: my usual temp with the Furies felt pale in comparison to the Hopper which I use natively sans any filtration and also at moderate temps. After not using my F2 for a few weeks with the Hopper back, I tried it with a dosing cap (new version), bumped up the temp a bit which I do anyway with capsules, and had an amazing sesh! I use my Furies primarily natively too (I’m a minimalist at heart, what can I say).
I figured, what the heck - let’s do another load without the capsules. I upped the temp again to 390 and then 395 in the same sesh and it wasn’t terribly hot for me at all. The effect was great as usual and a tad deeper too. I might’ve graduated to a higher temp range with my Furies all because of my Hopper.
Now where’s the rock salt?

My Fury's niche is at max temp. It's an effective 'wrap-things-up-for-the-day' vape for me. I'd think that one would have a hard time using it at that temp and saying they didn't get their money's worth (out of their material or their vape). Highly effective and convenient, to boot. Happy to have it in my rotation.

Hey Guys - new here and to the Fury 2. Working with concentrate is kind of tricky. Any hints. I don't have anything other than the stainless and a water pipe adapter so far. About to order some dosing capsules and more stainless screens. Glad find this if it is at all populated. so many questions...

As the Lady said above, welcome to FC. As she has correctly advised, putting concentrates on cotton is a common technique that usually works well. Alternatively with hard versions like Bubble and conventional pressed hash I get good results with putting it in the capsules directly. This is a bad plan for liquid extracts which could melt and run into the oven of course.
The advantage of cotton is it doesn't vape or change up to the maximum available temperature. Be sure to use pure cotton (I steal mine from vitamin bottles), some types have polyester or other fibers mixed in. Cotton cloth also works.
Be sure it's snug in the unit. Heating is done by conduction through the side walls, so a loose tuft in the bowl will heat poorly. Often the best results come at higher than expected temperature due to this, I often run at 415F, FWIW.
BTW, IMO the dosing capsules for the Edge, which fit F2 well, are superior for this as the F2 versions are kind of frail (all screen body) making removal of spent concentrate harder than necessary. I suggest you try those instead.

Got the capsules and they are working great too and then this morning I pick it up from the charger anbut when I turn it on I get the Protect prompt.
Doesn't sound good any ideas?

It has happened before, but it's extremely rare......although one fellow said it happened to him 3 times in a row (statistically extremely unlikely)? One guy thought he'd done it by forcing a WT into the oven, FWIW.

Funny. I had mine go into Protect mode yesterday! Out hiking in 5F yesterday. I then put it in an inside pocket and it was fine after half an hour. I think this happened once or twice last year and the same the year before. Did you leave it in the car outside in the cold?
As I've said before, I just can't believe what a great little vape this is, and especially how strong the battery has been after two years of daily, though not exclusive!, use. And the fact that it is my hiking, biking, snowshoeing, wandering vape, so out in the cold, snow, fog, drizzle--all blown by wicked winds, bounced around in my day pack or handlebar bag, day after day. Very impressive.

TGIF and hope everyone is well. It’s been a while since posting in this thread and almost as long since using my Furies. I’m planning on doing so tonight for a change as I clean my Hopper thoroughly in order to take it on vacation (where it ain’t legal from a rec perspective). Looking forward to using a couple of flavorful strains recently obtained in my F2 and bumping the temp a bit higher than usual before I got my Hopper back, which I’ve been using daily (and then some - natively too though on low temps since the air path is shorter and considerably hotter relative to the Furies).
All is good and looking forward to the weekend and start of vacation. Maybe I should charge my Furies soon before the festivities begin...

I still love my Fury as well. It's not my go to vape since I got my Tinymight but it gets used in rotation. For the winter months I feel confident in its durability in freezing conditions and I never worry if I accidentally drop it. I would still recommend this vape for a lot of people and a variety of situations. Eventually the battery will stop charging and our time will end , but until then I'll continue to enjoy this little gem.
TGIF 2. I haven't been back on since my F2 went into protect mode and was toast a couple of weeks after I got it. HR did replace it and I am using it again, but I did find another favorite, meaning I don't have any one favorite. I am still very impressed by the F2's punch for the size and cost, so I am a believer. The other piece is more like a honey stick and mostly a concentrate piece.
Again thanks for the tips earlier. Really loving the dosing caps for on the go quick swap out.

For sure, 'all good things must come to an end" but in this case our friends at HR have promised a new replacement for half price should this or 'anything' not covered 100% by warranty befall the little fellow.
Off hand, I can't think of any other maker with this offer.....can anyone? IMO this reduces the risk to losing it (or having it stolen)? Otherwise it's impossible to wear one out at full price. Folks can own and use it with confidence and expect dependable performance over the long haul. A first rate tool for making vapor, and low cost to boot.

Therefor, I rarely have reading glasses with me when I'm using my Fury and it's now impossible for me to see anything on its tiny screen with clarity. This leaves a metaphorical bad taste in my mouth
... Fortunately , I don't change temperature . I have found my sweet spot at 375F and if I stretch my arm really far and squint I can almost decipher how much time is left in the sesh. I'll always like this vape, but I bigger screen would be nice.

I've gotten good at back temp stepping to get it back down to 370 F when I restart a session .. I just hold it down and it takes a few seconds... I now have the feel for when to let up on the button... I use it to temp step all the way up to max temp each time of use.. takes maybe 4 or 5 secs to hold down the minus button and get it back to 370 . for a ten degree bump up it takes about 1 second of holding the plus button down

When I pruchased my F2 I it was because it appeared to have the traits I appreciate in a vape. I hoped it would fit the bill and it has absolutley done so. Small, quick to heat, easy to maintain. Every time I use it I'm gratefult to have it. Worked wonders as I was riding the ski lifts recently.
I can't see the display in the daytime (+ some other times : ) but I just hold it in for a few seconds, assumme it's hit max temp, then back it down one degree at a time til I'm where I want to be.
And I've never had an issue with the relatively brief charge cycle. I'm never more that a few sessions wawy from a place to charge and that's good for me.
