You too funny SS. Because I like stems better than the standard mp. :p ;)

SS, am I correct in thinking that the taste is on par with the Fury?

Haha I am just surprised, I like using the glass stems a lot bc they are not just mouthpieces but chambers as well, like with my RBT/Tubo vapes... I think you can mod it to use it the way you want, I just feel like its unnecessary personally... Probably for taste, but maybe better even, too soon to tell. Like much of these questions, we need more time lol

Has anyone found a compatible glass stem? I mean I would like to have a stem with nipples like the ones available for the stempod, splinter to cool down the vapor....

These are custom dedicated glass stems, I don't think any stems from anywhere else would fit, and I wouldn't chance trying to... Just find silicone to put on the tip yourself, even a VapCap tip like StemPod uses would stretch.

For those who did initial burn-offs and noticed a taste/smell.....did you mouth pump with the mouthpiece/accessory attachment and/or blow into the bottom air path during the burn-offs?

I mention the act of pushing or pulling air through the unit during the burn-offs because convection devices like the Fierce aren't going to completely burn-off anything above the oven without moving the air up through the mouthpiece/accessory attachment.

IMO Some heat will work it's way up from the oven without pushing or pulling air like I described but your burn-offs will be way more effective and you won't get surprised by some residual smell/taste the first time you use it in earnest.

Mouthpumping entails breathing in the smell, so not sure why anyone who cares about burn offs would do that exactly? I did blow in through the bottom for airflow a few times, but mostly let it sit.

When I mouth pump I fill my mouth with the intake of air but I don't let it get into my lungs. This way I get to test for taste issues as well as smell during the burn offs. I did blow through the bottom air intake more though since it was so convenient with this vape.

I test all my new vapes by doing max temp and time burn offs while pushing air through the vapor path to stress the heater and battery. I do this till the battery runs out. Makes the unit work hard so I get a feel for the hot spots, worst case battery life, taste/smell and how the unit performs when the battery is getting low. Was a tough job with this vape because of the battery life. Couldn't do it all in one day. Well..I guess I could have done it all in one day but I didn't have all day

DIRTY D'S VAPE REVIEW ( vol 1.o) of the 'Fierce' Vaporizer by Healthy Rips.
1st- thanks to HR they sent me this vape free of charge if I promised to do a review in these hallowed halls. Of course I felt cool and honored and jumped at the chance!! Ok. REVIEW:. As a huge fan and previous owner of a fury 2, this is his big ,tough brother in every way. The only "Con " I can really say I have with it is the bowl is too big. Only for my taste or rate of usage tho. I'm used to a vapcap at half full. I guess I mostly or part time microdose.. Also this "Con" to me would def be a "pro" to a medical or heavier user.. For the guy who buys vapes and wished the bowl was bigger, this one's for you. HR graciously included the wpa glass stem, bent gl stem and straight gl stem. Ive tried each and lately all i use is the bent stem( my favorite). Also included: 2 well built dosing capsules., A mesh pad,and an extra og screen set up. Also brush and tweezers etc. Ok list of pro's: 1. Easy easy to use. 2. Great for travel! The capsules work great. 3. I like the connections between the mps and glass etc, seem sound and solid, I like the magnetic action. 4. Feels and looks good in hand, big not too big, nice heft . Fits in pocket just fine. 5 Performance: just like fury 2, hits are produced first puff and onward. Same nice loose draw. Not much resistance. Love that. 6- no technique needed. Hand this to your grannie and say "suck" and good times will soon arrive. 7. Great even taste ,retained even longer at low temps. I start at 380, go 400 then finish/or second heat up 430 max. 8. I Like the adjustable time clock, easy to adjust session time. Mine= 200 seconds even tho who cares you can quite easily set it up to have from 3 to 8 min session clock. Neat! 9. Even, dark coffee abv at the end, great even extraction pace, also you can just keep on hitting it, gives many many hits per bowl ,more than I'm used to lately. 10. Pro and Con? Haptic feedback is such a cool addition but mine rarely buzzes when I set it ,or raise it to 430 the max. Buzzes every other time it is supposed to tho. //// CON'S : not many. Pretty friggin awesome vaporizer. Con # 1 - bowl a little too big? For me yes BUT! it doesn't matter because you can put as much or as little as you want ( be reasonable) and you still get great hits. Guess that's not a real con so whatever. 2. Haptic feedback a bit spotty, only when going to temp 430... 3. Only time can tell but the silicon components seem flimsier? than the fury 1 days? Seals are good tho. So not really much I don't love about this vape so far. Oh and battery seems ok so far, getting 5 or 6 bowls ? Per charge? . Oh and you can stop a sesh and go back to it later ..but you need to dump material or remove stem because it will still be hot in there. Sum up: A well built ,solid, quality vape, easy to use, big instant hits once at temp, flavor sticks around surpringly long, feels good to hold and use- (bent glass stem is a winner) . If you had a fury 2 but wish the bowl was bigger. This is your dream! Amazing travel/ driving vape... Definitely easy mindless no concetration/ technique required. For the list price this is a good fair deal I think. All the awesome reliability and things that made the fury 2 awesome, in a bigger but not too huge footprint with added features and new mouthpiece set ups. Hard to beat. Great job once again HR. The Fierce would be a great addition to any vape collection. A handsome yet powerful travel, party, pass around or heavy medical use portable vape. I guess my sum up is longer than the review.... pretty high from all this testing! Not complaining tho...Thanks to HR and FC and everyone! Will provide usage updates as I spend more time with my Fierce!. ....... Cheers! D.:science:

@DirtyD - Great review!

You mention that the bowl is a little bigger than you'd like. Is this the case when using the glass stems? I was surprised a little since the bent stem takes up some room in the bowl and is a little smaller than a Solo stem's bowl. Everyone is different but you're right....some like me will like the larger bowl in the Fierce.

I like the larger bowl so much that I use the accessory attachment and the straight stem by only allowing the top of the straight stem's bowl to be pushed down till it's just peaking out of the accessory attachment. I place a stainless steel screen on top of the bowl to eliminate bits of herb being sucked into the stem. This way I'm using the glass stem without reducing what can be placed in the bowl. This is a natural hack for me .... I typically place a screen on top of the bowl of my vapes to keep the screen/mouthpiece from getting dirty quickly.

@His_Highness sounds like a great mod! I've actually been thinking about putting a small mesh screen in my bent stems bowl to see if I could decrease! the bowl size. I'll bet it'll work just fine. Cheers! D.

Placing a screen in the bowl can be used to decrease the bowl size....I do it all the time with my Solo stems. I put the screen in flush with the bottom of the bowl. The screen is a little bigger circumference wise so some of the screen will bend upwards to fit the bowl. After a few sessions the screen retains that "cup/domed" shape and I take it out and turn it over so the dome is facing up. The dome leaves about an 1/8 to a 1/4 inch pocket between the top of the dome and the bottom of the bowl.

Alternatively someone here can recommend already existing dome shaped screens ... I've seen them mentioned.

Dome shaped screens, what will be the correct size?

These are easy to make, and depending on the size of screen you start with, you will have a different measure of decrease in bowl size. A smaller screen will give you a smaller dome, and a larger will give you a larger dome.

I've made some (for my Arizer portables) which occupy almost no space, but are domed just enough to keep the flower off of the four little holes in the glass, and to keep the airflow open thereby.

Just use something small and rounded to shape a flat screen into a dome.

Alternately, I highly recommend the domed screens that Healthy Rips sells:

https://www.healthyrips.com/store/p66/FIERCE_Glass_Chamber_Screens.html

These are heavy duty screens, built to last, and are a good size for reducing the chamber of all Fierce glass mouthpieces.

I can't really compare this to my instant convection favorite portables ala Splinter Z or torch powered hybrids ala vapcap but this may be my favorite all-time session based portable. This would include a ton of different vapes.

The session based portable market has a ton of options coming from big name manufacturers, but you would really be a miss if you didn't consider the Fierce among some of the top options especially when considering pricepoint and available accessories.

I absolutely agree, it is a very effective design, quite impressive at any price.

Has flavor improved for you too? That's one thing I am struggling with, going to compare to my Fury2 so I can get a better sense. Also still early, so may need to be broken in more... I know you also did many more burn offs than me though

I consider myself very taste sensitive. After a million and one burn-offs i taste zero added outside flavor. Meaning, i am over the "burn-off" and now only taste the material loaded.

That said this is not a vape that preserves flavor on an elite level like some pure convection vapes ala Splinter, Z, Tubo Evic, or even MV1. But, i do enjoy the slow flavor extraction and experience provided by a session vape such as the Fierce on occasion. Variety has alwayd been my bag.

The overal package is appealing, fun to use, full proof. Set it and hit it. Nothing to learn. Does it have the power or extraction strength or even flavor of something like the Splinter Z? No it does not. But it is easier to use for most, and has a certain polished appeal and look with the temp selection and overal design.

It feels great in the hand, and has some impressive accessories. Extraction is pretty even and complete, even without stirring. It is very conservative, and a small amount of ground material could last many sessions.

Yeah I feel the same way about the session style compliment, and that is why I am more taste sensitive too. I should probably try to do more burn offs now, I've only been using glass stems so far anyway so everythings super clean.

That's another thing, I haven't used mine enough to even need to clean it, but the maintenance is super low I can tell. Even if you don't use just the glass stems and load the bowl it would be very easy to clean, even more so if you are using the dosing capsules which I still need to try.

It does fit well in the hand, super portable to carry around and put in your pocket, even with the bent stem. I was able to enjoy two bowls in the bench them walking to a movie at theater, and then it was easy to keep the fierce in my unzipped hoodie pocket. The bent stem, although a little short, is still very portable. The sheath is the perfect solution to making glass purity more portable and safe, durable and stealthy.

It would be nice to see some more stems even, of course with the adapter you can attach to many different things including water, but it would be nice to have an even longer bench stem to enjoy at home for example. If it could be cooling stem have some sort, that could be pretty great, since session vapor tends to feel more harsh on the throat for me.

Also the battery is fantastic, it lasts a long time in charges quite quick, and the fact you can buy spares to swap out makes this an even better value somehow. It really has just about every feature that you could want in a portable vape. Not bad for first impressions, now I need to go spend a lot more time with it... I'll report back in a while

They did give me a water tool adaptor, i use it often. Do you not have one Shit Snacks?

I do! I use it too, for quick hitters mostly at high temp through bubbler, tried hydrotube too at first I remember. Even used a drydrotube, but it would be nice to have a cooling stem as well. Love how you have so many options out of the box, I'm just greedy and want even more lol

I sold my Mighty to purchase a Fierce (and a Fury 2!) and couldn't be happier.
  • Better battery life
  • faster battery recharge
  • user-replaceable battery
  • faster heat up time
  • next to no clean up (toss the glass mouthpiece into isopropyl)
  • option for a fully glass vapor path
  • no more worrying about damaging the silicone seals during cleaning/reassembly
  • somewhat more portable
  • freedom from the indignity of looking at the Mighty, and thinking "I paid how much for this piece of plastic?"
My only regret is not dumping the Mighty sooner.

I sold my Mighty to purchase a Fierce (and a Fury 2 – and still had some money left over for some flowers) and couldn't be happier. Better (and user replaceable) battery, next to no clean up (toss the glass mouthpiece into isopropyl), much faster heat up time, and somewhat more portable.

What about the taste ? and also the effects? (I remember the feeling of hitting a mighty, similar to hittin a J, I used to have flowermates and not one of them produced such effects , Im kind of sad, my mighty had only few uses, I dropped it accidentally on concrete and the upper fins just started to chip ( that happened to two units at least) how much fierce hold up compared to mighty? SB service was nothing but stellar but, I would be happy to have something sturdier / glass tip I saw is a plus. How long do you have your fierce? Mighty was pain in the ass to clean, but I also dumped it in iso and circled few CU units, the plus was collecting the reclaim (freedabs every week)
One more question, when you vape, how long the herb last? Its pretty sure I had only access to shitty bud so my cap lasted about 5 long hits max. 4 usually. I was shocked how fast it got wasted, but as I said that bud I was purchasing was crap
One more edit, the very last, when you compare your fury 2 and fierce, does fierce wins?

What about the taste ?

The taste is about the same as the Mighty – not the best I've had, but not bad. Not as flavorful as my Solo II.

and also the effects?

I find the 'signature' of the Fierce very similar to the Mighty.

how much fierce hold up compared to mighty?

Seems very durable so far. And not only does it seem to be a vaporizer that will hold up, but it actually stands up – unlike the Mighty (German engineering indeed!).

How long do you have your fierce?

About 3 months.
