Got my MD haze last week as well and figured I'd chime in.

Mine had a little odor/taste the first few loads, but it is totally gone now. I "burned off" all the screens and cans by gradually going from 1 up to 4 and leaving it there (for a safe time) but saw no smoke or vapor when doing so.

Fit and finish were very nice, but the door was pretty stiff for my arthritic hands. As some have said before, I have concerns with the battery door lasting but those are put to rest by the warranty.

I love how loaded it came - two batteries, multiple screens/cans, charger, etc. That tweezer/shovel tool is fucking brilliant, as is whomever decided to include it for free.

It took me about 4 cans/screens to get the hang of it but now it works great. The importance of loading enough and packing it correctly cannot be overstated! I also feel that it's not quite ready when it stops blinking. I like to give it about another minute past that. Better yet, letting it sit on setting 1 and then bumping up to 3/4 seems to preserve the flavor a little bit better.

Settings 1 & 2 seem to be limited use to me. They just don't get hot enough to produce satisfying results. 3 seems perfect for flowers, especially after it gets good and hot. It also does OK for concentrates, but I prefer those on a 4. I've got it down now where I can get big clouds and big enough hits to cough my ass off if I'm not careful.

Flowers were a hybrid called Middlefork and the concentrate was made from Jack Herer. Both very very high quality from the best retail shop in eastern WA (Greenlight).

Next, I'll be getting a D-021 from DHgate and a whip to hook up to my Haze. If anyone is wondering, a 1/4" inner diameter hose is perfect. Same as the MFLB Launch Box whip.

Thanks for the review, Hyzer! I'm excited to get mine and start testing it against the Pax.

Your right. I got a 3 ft. MFLB whip joined with one of @Ratchett's adaptors and it cools the vapor nicely.

Yup the 3 ft. MFLB whip cools the vapor nicely when mated to the Haze. It's become my favorite Haze attachment.

So I got a Haze 2.5 off of Massdrop. I highly recommend it. I was wondering if this battery thing isn't a marketing ploy by Haze? Are they really different from the normal 18650? I did a search but didn't find much.

Thanks
more a safety thing, possibly designed so people use theirs over other batteries but they're not crazy expenseive so why risk it? Also a lottttt of battery talk some pages back

Depends what you mean by "the normal 18650" 18650 is just the battery size nothing else, and there are too many different ones for me to list here, the battery used by haze (XL battery) is a Panasonic NCR18650BE (good quality battery) with a custom PCB (I have taken mine apart (don't do this) and it does look better than normal quality and more going on than usual)

The risk of buying anything else is getting something fake/bad quality and ruining your expensive haze for the sake of a cheap battery (I'm not saying others can't be used but you need to know exactly what your buying and be confident it is what it claims)

My advice is always stick with OEM unless you understand the risks of what can go wrong and how, if we were talking about something like a standard alkaline battery I would say go nuts try em all, but we are talking about something with the potential to go wrong in a big way (I have made quite a few go boom (that was the plan) and even the safer chemistrys that shouldn't vent flames and explode have done)

If you have any other questions regarding this please feel free to send me a PM, or search back through the thread as @vapebuddy13 suggested.

IMO it's not a marketing ploy, what haze have done is sensible and it covers themselves as well as us, they can't test every battery out there, and there are so many fake/bad quality batteries out there that could cause damage/harm to not only the haze but haze customers and their homes, basically they are providing a known safe option for us that has been tested to work with the haze.

Im not sure what changes will be made but Im sure most of them will be fixes to problems on the 2.5. I asked about painting the oven selector indicators because they are wearing out on mine and they replied that it wont void the warranty if I do paint them back on but the V3 will be fixing that. Maybe it will be etched instead?

I have been enjoying the haze since @scottg402 got me blowing clouds with it. I really like the conduction screens but would like to pack less per bowl. If I don't pack it tight and full I don't get the clouds I like.

Has anyone used a topper (idk maybe a screen) to keep smaller loads packed tightly and did it help produce more vapor?

Few options you could try, I'm greedy and have never tried them so can't say how well they will work, but a wick or two on top could work or as you mention cutting a screen (some have done this with the haze screens others with standard screens) or even just tamp the load down, if you do it right it should stay put unless you draw crazy hard.

I would guess a screen on top could add extra heat (if not extra heat extra contact) and help with your search of clouds.

Regarding the batteries. I priced decent (ie: named brand) batteries and found that the price that Haze charges for batteries is not much more. I decided it was foolish to risk messing up my Haze to save a few bucks.

In other news: RIP D020 Bubbler. Mine took a tumble and shattered. Dog tail 1 - Bubbler 0 Heres the guilty party:

I wont be leaving my next bubbler on the coffee table next time thats for sure! Disappointed but it wasnt too pricey so Ill order a new one.

Hello everyone,

I can't discuss the changes in detail now but I can tell you that the changes are based on your feedback.

There have been several revisions with the engineers and it's just not good enough for our standards to put it out yet. But the V3 is being actively worked and we will get it out as soon as it's ready. For folks already enrolled in the upgrade program, your patience is appreciated. For those waiting to purchase the first Haze, you can wait or get the v2.5 now and look at the upgrade program when the v3 hits. Yes it will cost you an extra $100 but you are also covered on any additional revisions and your v2.5 goes to someone in need. You simply cannot put a price on that!

Haha.....right now I am here. I actually just left the office.

I came down here Monday to close on my home and move some our stuff. Next week its back to IL to pack the rest up and the whole family comes down here sometime after the 4th.

I won't officially start until August but I am getting up to speed in the meantime and can't wait to get going!

I might be alone on this but I think with the v3 a nice change would be a party mode that heats both bowls at the same time. This would allow the haze to deliver ridiculous water hits and also mix herbs like never before!!!

That does sound cool.

There seems to be a growing demand for simultaneous bowl heating I've noticed. They have too probably

I've noticed the switch on mine is getting stiff too. Was it resin buildup underneath that caused it to fail? I clean mine daily but that's one area it's impossible to get at.

I think that would be pretty much impossible with the current design. It would require a massive overhaul of the vape's entire design before they could handle not only a dual active vapor path, but also the power consumption required and heat management necessary to run two ovens concurrently.

As cool as it sounds, I have to agree with @Ratchett. I think the vape in its current form can't handle heating both, otherwise they would have done it already. I know very little about electronics, but I think they would probably have to change the "heater" (whatever it happens to be that supplies heat) or change power sources to allow the heater to do both bowls. Or both.

It's also possible that they didn't want to allow it since pass-through charging isn't available and it would drain batteries too fast to make it feasible.
