Discontinued Haze Dual V3

Hey fellow hazers!

Man am I loving my haze. Like another user said its everything i ever wanted out of my portable vape experience. I use it pretty much everyday and recently while cleaning the device it dawned on me how much cannabis oil residue i was basically throwing away on alcohol soaked qtips. I'm wondering if any of you fellow haze users have figured out a way to harvest all that yummy reclaim in the air path after a few vape sessions. I was thinking some kind of screen perhaps?

I agree with this. I measured it out long ago (prior to SS lids which allow for slightly more) and I was getting about .25 in a well packed can. @stinkytofus it's possible your scale is off.
U guys put it in the can lightly packed then measured it ? And then did a tight pack and measured it ? I measured it after i packed it then dumped it on my scale, im getting 0.08 light pack to 0.10-0.12 for a tight pack, my ff2 is also reading 0.05-0.06 for light pack and 0.08-0.09 for a tight one

I measured an empty can and and then the same can full and subtracted the can weight out. I also have a FF and I could be wrong but those measurements also seem a bit lite to me.

==== Thoughts on the Haze V3: Almost a year on ====
by Bibbly Bobbly

Almost a year on - something like 9-10 months to be not very much more precise. And around this time I find it therapeutic to write a brief review of my experiences, as I did for my 1-year anniversary with the Vaponic (http://fuckcombustion.com/posts/723772/) to collect my thoughts.

Why did I get a Haze?

Haze ownership has propelled me through variety of emotions and new experiences; so I may as well start at the beginning. Having flirted with vapour using the Vaponic for a while, I felt I needed the convenience that only electricity could provide, in order to sever my ties with combustion once and for all. After much consideration of what I wanted from an electric vaporizer:
  • reliability
  • hygiene and safety
  • versatility - specifically UK-import-resin-vaporability (we will revisit this topic later...)
  • replaceable battery
I did some research and opted for the Haze V3, also considering the Arizer Air. The 10 year warranty clinched it for me - that policy reflects their devotion to QC and subsequent risk management - money talks. I actually made the decision right around the time the V2.5 was being phased out, so I actually pre-ordered the V3.

I met Vapour God and shook his hand

After several weeks of anticipation, I took delivery of the V3 and began to realise that I had been using my Vaponic kind of wrong, and often ending up with combustion. I was enamored with the Haze's computer-precise control of long vapour sessions. Producing tons of V before changing taste and thereby signalling that it's time to switch off and dump the dried-out herb. It actually made me better at using the Vaponic. For quite a while I was only vaping, except the occasional smoke with friends. I can confirm, like everybody says, that the Haze tastes great, is very convenient to use, and feels well-built.

The fall from grace

Around xmas time my jubilant innocence was shattered into pieces by a faulty switch. Haze was very helpful about it - I'm pretty sure they paid for the shipping back to the US, and eventually they just gave me a new unit instead of repairing the old one. Along with some extra cans and other peripherals.

During this dark period I realized that there was so much of the device closed off and unavailable for cleaning. It worried me considering the international shipping. I gave it a very thorough going over with alcohol beforehand, but this still tickled my paranoia gland. It also worries me about the long term stability. How long can it keep accumulating crap under those little holes before something stops functioning optimally (without voiding my warranty and taking it apart, I can only speculate)? Sure you can stick a cotton bud down the hole where the mouthpiece goes, and get off (hopefully?) most of that crap, but the region under the ovens is inaccessible as far as I can tell. And honestly, even the mouthpiece part - I'm not really satisfied with how clean I can get that, given that I can't properly see down into it. Not satisfied enough for international travel (currently under discussion over at http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapes-on-planes-traveling-with-vaporizers.239/). While Hazeless I didn't use the Vaponic much because I couldn't be bothered to fiddle around with butane torches anymore. The new Haze arrived and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

What does the future hold?

Nowadays the Haze sees a bit of use, although I often fall back to that duplicitous siren, smoking. I can mostly attribute this to not really caring for my health or future at times. But my existential turmoil can hardly be blamed on the device.

I now consider buying an Arizer Air, because its loading mechanism and air-path seem to be all exposed up at the top, and readily cleanable. I'm not sure whether this is a grass-is-greener thing, or whether it's part of my cultural indoctrination that buying more shit will solve all my problems. I know a lot of you guys have zillions of vaporizers, but I never really intended to go down that rabbit hole (that's not a judgement by the way!)

In closing: it's a vaporizer.

P.S. A more fine-grained resolution for battery level wouldn't hurt.
P.P.S. I forgot that I never revisited that UK-import-resin topic. In short, I tried it a couple of times and it didn't work that well.

Ok, Arch I've been staring at that picture, and I hate to show my ignorance but what did you do? The only thing different I can see is the sticker. Maybe I'm not Hazed enough? Doc

Yes, the sticker on the bottom looks cheap, which The Haze is most certainly not cheap in price nor value, hands down best electronic vape I've used.

So can someone give me some in depth comparison of the bubbler vs the recycler for the haze. I'm leaning toward the recycler although I only use flower. I like the fact that it has a carb hole and does not require an attachment. It seems like the bubbler might allow more vapor diffusion but I don't know how important that is when compared to the recycler. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I think the Reservoir will work nicely with whatever you put in it. And yeah the Hazifier has more diffusion but how do you think you will use it? The Reservoir can be picked up and carried if you want but the Hazifier really excels in this department.

Adventuring Through Time and Space
I had the v3 about 4 o 5 months now, and am still in love. I never use my Solo anymore, and the only time we use my roommates is when we want to use his water tools. Everyone of my friends who has tried it has really enjoyed it. Cleaning it has kind of become my every other Sunday ritual. Kind of trance like and soother when you get in to it.

Alas, one my herb boxes has ripped and a canister top has been bent (user error), so I'll be ordering more of those shortly. Oh well. It's always good to have a tolerance break from time to time.

I am on the verge of purchasing one of these vapes however I would like to know whether the batteries that are shipped with the haze are (A) of good enough quality to get a nice cloudy vape and (B) are replacement batteries available from other manufacturers or can you only use the batteries that are specifically made for this product?

I have a mflb and have upgraded my batteries just twice in 5 years, I don't use manufacturer made batteries either which is just much more convenient, hopefully there are a number of batteries available for the haze too.

I really want 2 extra batteries when I make the purchase however every store I've checked in the UK are currently sold out of the official haze XL batteries

I have 2 of the regular batteries. They are fully capable of powering the unit to sufficient temperature to produce "nice" clouds. As I understand the XL batteries just go a bit longer between charges - they don't cause the unit to perform differently.

I believe all Haze batteries are 18650, coupled with a small printed circuit board to perform some kind of power regulation. So while you might get a generic 18650 in there (with a bit of padding to make up for the lack of circuit board), I wouldn't recommend it.

That makes total sense actually! The XL batteries are more powerful being 3200Mah compared to the 2600Mah batteries however unlike the mflb the Haze has temperature settings doesn't it? So just as you said this should simply mean more powerful batteries will just go longer between charges rather than produce thicker vape clouds like the mflb.

Damn, that could be a killer for me! If the manufacturer were to go out of business then we are screwed trying to get replacement batteries aren't we? I think I will still go ahead and purchase a Haze this evening though as I do see plenty of places to pick up the regular batteries.

Thanks for your response bibblybobbly, that really helped me out

@lhodgy I would say that by the time Haze batteries are no longer available there will be plenty of newer/better/more desirable vapes on the market and you will want one or more of them even if the Haze is going strong. Scott can give more info on the battery situation but I would not let the batteries stop you from getting one. Since getting mine I never use my perfectly fine desktop Vapir Rise 2.0.

For sharing a lot the cans are a bit small, but with additional cans prepacked swapping them out is easy and convenient. For 1 or 2 people the can size is prefect. A plus not too many people talk about is how nice it feels in your hand pocket. Pax has more stealth but Haze has much better draw, better clouds, removable batteries, better mouthpiece etc. You will be happy.

Cheers George, you're correct, the batteries I definitely won't let stop me from ordering, in fact I have finally just now ordered my Haze V3 with 2 extra batteries (not XL unfortunately) and also 2 extra dry herb cans whilst typing this reply

I'll be using the vape either when trekking, staying round my girlfriends house or if I'm working on a weekend so this vape will be only for me just like my mflb, the extreme Q is the one used for group sessions.

One last thing if anyone can help, is the following link for the correct ISO alcohol that I need to clean the vape with?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/500ml-Isopropyl-Alcohol-pure-ISOPROPANOL/dp/B00AMZ10SE

I clean my mflb with the brush and use tissue for the stems whilst I tend to buy new screens for the extreme Q so I actually haven't really cleaned a vape with alcohol before despite owning vapes for 5+ years :whoa:

I love the way it fits in my hand. I like the texture of the patterned part. I am a tactile person so I really apprecI ate that.

I have been enjoying the fact that it toasts the herb so evenly and I do not need to stir it. I was using my UD exclusively for a while, then I decided to take out the Haze again and it was nice to vape without stirring.

Where is the cheapest place I can get a Haze V3? I remember a website recently which had a 50 dollar discount you could add from a drop down menu bringing the total to 200 dollars, but I can't remember which site it was exactly. Anyone know?

I received my V3 haze yesterday afternoon, packed a can immediately to test it out and I was impressed, I then packed two cans in the evening after fully charging the batteries and damn what an amazing little vape.

The flavor, the draw, the lack of smell emanating from the machine, how easy it is to clean, everything has really impressed me initially, I really don't see when I will use my mflb now as the Haze comfortably beats it in all areas and the accessories for it are useful too, what a great portable.

I initially only ordered 2 extra cans and an extra 2 batteries in addition to the Haze, after my test run last night I have now ordered the key chain, another 6 dry cans and 2 XL batteries. Those extras will mean when I have weekends away or go on a hike I can pre-fill all 10 cans then put 8 in the key chain & 2 in the Haze, along with the 6 batteries I definitely have more than enough supplies there.

That's the stuff but you can get 5 litres on eBay for like £12 with free delivery

Cheers man, placed an ebay order just now

I find the performance improves after using it for awhile even if the batteries are fully charged for the first few uses. I have found that if you do not want a smelly vape it's best to empty the cans asap rather than wait a few hours/days. I also clean the air path tube with a light iso qtip almost after every use. That seems to improve the taste rather than the performance.

You are going to have a sweet setup with the keychain, xl battereis and all those cans. Maybe order at the same time some extra screen tops because they seem to be easy to lose, although I haven't lost one yet I have come close and since you are placing an order anyways it's good insurance..
