Discontinued Ghost MV1

any one else notice that the rubberized coating comes off, its coming off the button and on the sides, maybe my sweat is like acid.
I know some that have had that issue but not I.

I don't really like that soft touch rubberized coating. VW put it on the buttons of my 2004 Toureg and yes, it wore off with time.

It happened on my very first MV1. My guess was that is was already compromised out of the box. Ghost swapped it out with no issues.

cheeseholidays,
Hey Guys after testing the MV1 for many months here is my review on it. So far I can still say that the MV1 is the best performing vaporizer in 2018 when it comes to extracting and vapour smoothness....

Here is the link to my review, hope you enjoy the read :)

I liked your review and this is puzzling.

"The battery is great allowing for about 100 draws in my testing. Starting at the lowest temp and slowly bringing the temps up as the sessions goes. That works out to about 4 crucibles before having to charge the battery. "

4 crucibles for me is 29-32 draws. 25 draws per crucible seems ....

When tested I would start at lower temp hit a few times then bump to next and so on. Yes I too can kill a bowl in 2 hits but wanted to get as much out of a bowl and battery. This gives a better outcome as not using max temps for all the hits.

I can kill it in 2 hits at level 5 but generally I use about 7-8 hits per crucible. I don't know if I could
possibly get 25. I guess I could set one of the 4 or 5 level to a very low temp below the level 1 to
get that maybe. 25 hits per crucible. Does anybody else do it that way.

Crap forgot to also mention I use the app and with the custom so I start at 360 and bump up 10 degrees after 3 hits giving you the 20 to 25 rips per bowl. Personally I do the 2 rips starting at 370 and bump 10 up to 410 for a faster extraction. But like I stated you can get that many rips per bowl if you start low and dial temp up manually with the app. The quality of the cannabis will also strongly affect the amount of draws before its fully extracted.

Over 300 dollars spent and here's what my MV1 looks like after less than a month and a half of use. Unit is literally falling/peeling apart. Not acceptable.

vapor production spotty even after a HS replacement.

Ridiculous.

My verdict on GV CS is still out as a # of people didn't get a response without sending multiple emails & others seem to be given a drawn out runaround.

Thats not fully accurate.

It only takes one email/PM if sent through their VL forum, their preferred method of contact.

If you are not using their preferred method through the forum, you will not receive an immediate reply. Simple as that. I've seen no runaround.

Wrong, it is not their preferred way. ghost-ops is directing everyone to create a CS ticket via on the website. Quite often if you read through Ghost issues on VLF, the only way the consumer is getting the ball rolling is by contacting ghost-ops & only his involvement gets CS to be attentive to the issue & make resolution in a timely fashion.

Other's have mentioned the peeling issue. And there's no reason @Benzo100 should have to tolerate spotty vapor production. That issue should really have been resolved with current production. I don't know if it's only a small amount of people are still experiencing issue or it's noticeably more, but we don't see it cause they're not on either forum.

I have definitely had customer service delays and runaround. They apologized, after repeated inquiry and posting here, but that doesnt change the fact they gave me runaround and took a lot of time.

They're doing their best, most definitely not perfect, but they've got a lot going on no doubt, too.

Happy they're in business, but I won't sugar coat reality, even if I like their vape.

Update: I have same paint wear @Benzo100 (which sucks). Vapor production is spotty as well but it really has to do with how finicky this vape is (in my opinion). I can see how Ghost can loose a lot of customers b/c of that fact that most people do not have diagnostic skills or intuition.

That is exactly why I am still waiting. Just does not seem reliable yet.

I'm surprised by the reliability comments here. The issues don't seem to be anywhere near what I read about/experience in the Grasshopper, IQ and Elevape threads (as examples).

The replacement for my OG unit is 6 months old and rock solid. It looks almost new and is a consistent performer.

Here is a representative summary of some of my direct experience:
Pinnacle Pro - Nearly as harsh as smoking. Mouthpiece melted.
Pax 2 - Hit like a feather and smelled like a dispensary. Tasted like a Launch Box.
Crafty - Replaced once. Reliable but very slow and taste isn't much better than a Launch Box.
Prima - Solid and reliable. Hits ok. Tasted like plastic for over a year.
Elevape - Absolute POS. Taste wasn't bad but it was the very definition of finicky. After their coil adjustment failed to improve the experience they blamed debris (although I regularly wiped it with ISO and could see no debris).
Firewood 3/4 - Fast, solid, reliable, tasty.
Ghost - A little slower than the FW and a little less tasty. Just as solid and reliable. Hits harder.
Vapcap M - Never felt I got good hits. Gave it away.
Venus Apollo - Fast, pretty good taste, solid. Hits hardest but controls are very finicky (I remove the battery cap after use to avoid accidental activation).
Grasshopper - One or two tasty hits. Hot AF. I've had RMA's on the Ti and the SS. Hits pretty hard.

Obviously, we all have different experiences and different backgrounds but my MV1 has been great, as has the CS. I wouldn't call it the best vape I have but it's in the top 3.

it's posts like this that make this such a great forum. IMO the best info comes from people who've used multiple vapes. thanks Mr Mellish!
