Discontinued Ghost MV1

I have no way of handling it without purchasing it. You have more experience with more varied vapes than I do. I have watched multiple videos and asked questions. I guess I am posing my questions in a negative manner to get you to talk about the positives of the device, if that makes any sense. Also, knowing whether you paid for your device makes a difference in credibility for me. I say nice things about free stuff and am more critical of stuff I paid for. Thank you for your time and I apologize if I come off as bashing. Obviously, even if I were blatantly bashing the device, I 'd have no credibility because I haven't used it. Seems like many very experienced people are very pleased with it.

I completely understand. Initially I was like whaaa...! But as you see I edited the comments like four or five times. Being from jersey means that I have a short temper. It's natural man. Yeah so, here's the thing about the ghost, when they say it sets a new standard, I kinda agree.

That's not a load of bs either. It's easy for me to dip in and out and take a few pulls here and there without wifey smelling it on me. Firefly I could do that with too but it had a tendency of smelling more. The IQ is a smelly brick. So is the Mighty. I've found that this device certainly doesn't have that reek and cools down much much faster. My bloodhound wife hasn't smelled this device on me. I've gotten into trouble in the past for walking into a room with the IQ in one instance, the Pax in another, the Mighty in another.. each time getting hell. They smell the whole room up. If it's a hotel and the airconditioning unit is in the front of the room near the door and turned on.. you just bombed the room. I haven't gotten hell yet with the MV1.

The on demand nature of the vape and the quality of vapor is what sets this thing apart from some of these other vapes. The draw resistance is either practically none or tight depending on preference. The stem part can't be overstated, it changes the dynamic of the draw. You can effectively get good strong vapor without having to do a full fifteen second draw by increasing the resistance.

Damn man.. yeah it's easy to get carried away and reiterate everything that's been said before... I guess for me it's this... It's convienient. If I want a step up session I can do a session. If I want to pass it around, I can pass it around. If I want a quick two puffs in and out type deal, I can quite easily without waiting for a warm up period. If I want to space my draws out over an hour or several, I can.

This device won't replace my IQ for discreetness or my Mighty for syphs where I have people that don't know how to press a button, but it certainly is my go to vape now 90% of the time right now.

Somehow it preserves the flavor terpenes thingamajigs. It has taste like the firefly has taste. The Mighty and Crafty have a plastic taste after using this. It's hard to describe, it's just different in a good way..

Initial demons have been worked out with this vape. It was good that they delayed bringing it to mass market. It was never the hardware that was faulty, or if it was, it was a small number. It was the software that hurt it early on along with user error. Temperature would sometimes go up and down so dragon clouds would sometimes come out in between normal clouds..
A whole lotta user error. I too found myself wanting to chuck the device when I wasn't seating the heatsink correctly and causing overheats. Quite honestly, It's not until you hold the device in your hands and feel it's weight, then that first session man.. that first session is what changes your mind. To me it was like the first session with the Crafty. I was like whaaaaooowwww as it was blowing my mind.

Here's the thing too, you brought up batteries before. Not having to send the whole unit in if you are experiencing battery performance issues is a great thing. I went through three craftys and now I'm on my third Mighty. Non-user replaceable batteries sucks. I don't care if it's from the same manufacturer or if I can buy my own elsewhere like the IQ. So long as you can take the battery out, it eliminates one more reason you would have to send it in. I hate sending my devices in. I f'in hate it. Wifey intercepts a box, that shit is gone.

Thanks for the info. Two follow up questions: Did you pay for yours and have you tried a Grasshopper with the PFE? Not a shill for Grasshopper. I actually have very little faith in either of these devices from a dependability standpoint. Ferraris are always going to spend more time in the shop than Hondas I suppose. I am just asking for a comparison.

I have two Grasshoppers and one PFE. I do not have any sort of glass. The PFE gets so fucking hot that I can't use it (but I think the GH is great. I am not a smoker but the GH is probably as close as you can get without combusting.). I had my SS and Ti GH's for about 16 months before I decided to send them in. Got them back and the Ti is seeming pretty hot still.

The Ghost crushes my Crafty and my Prima. The GH, the Firewood 3 and the Firewood 4 put up stiff competition. Bottom line is that the MV1 does its assigned duties with flair. It doesn't give off a lot of odor like the Pax 2 (or, possibly, the Firewoods). It is a bit heavy but the ergonomics are good. People will be pleased with the results once they have the app.

No...logically NO. if there is no app for Android all that means is....wait for it....no app for Android.

They are very different operating systems. Why Ghost picked iOS over Android to go first, I don't know. I do know that at the company I fairly recently retired from, we developed an wifi only phone app that rode over top on your mobile as a custom job for one of our telco service provider customers. We/customer decided to go Android first because Apple was just more locked down and harder to customize. Android was more wide open for those functions we were interested in. I believe with this simple Ghost app, that doesn't really apply.

Cheers

Do you think Storz and Bickel released an app only for iOS ?
What you say is simply not acceptable, I'm sorry, there's no way to spin it, this is just bad, newsflash the world does not spin around iPhones.
Wasn't the app advertise as a part of the vape? - Yep it did, that's just false advertising.

mosh...unfortunately getting the apps working and then publishing them up on the platform stores is taking much longer than they had expected. Obviously we are all so used to getting things at the push of a button and are feeling the stress of the apps not being ready well after initial "limited" release.

That said, Ghost is separately beta testing the apple and android apps at different times. So we continue to wait for now, but the apple app is supposed to drop very soon as it was sent to the apple store for approval recently.

The beta testers are limited and that is why we don't all have the app.

You know what, I don't even care.
This is not the first company first vape with fuck ups, the VX team did fuck up, even twice, they however, were always here and were always open to the community.

I'm happy that they are beta testers, but its simply not ready, that's the bottom link.
Ghost just showed that they don't really care for Android users, at least not as the iOS users.
Coming from a big IT company where I'm in charge of cross platform support, this makes me rage.

Hey Mosh....the world does not revolve around FC forum or your desires and directions.....just saying dude. It is what it is....and you do not understand it and are drawing conclusions that are not even close to reality....and I am talking about your "tech advocacy rant".

So....I would suggest for you to be happy and not worry about this vape. It is in no way harming you physically, mentally......that's on you my friend.

This vaporizer brings out the inner dickhead in people, on both sides on the aisle. I've been lurking this thread since launch and find it to be filled with the most polarizing comments/retorts imaginable. I personally would never purchase this device, but I see nothing wrong with the excitement/discontent that permeates the comment section from those who own - or wish to own - it.

I recall user Gibrarian being lambasted for countering the circle jerk with his own accounts of inferior experiences with his/her vape. Conversely, I've seen accusations of cronyism thrown out to those who have positive experiences with the vape; accusations centered on claims that can't be verified (at least not always).

I've seen mods completely delete comments pertaining to build materials and the like. I could go on and on. The atmosphere surrounding this thread is comical to say the least, and I think I speak for those like myself (who've been sitting in the shadows, knee slapping from the emotionalism engrained in the comments) when I say to continue. Please continue your emotional, far from logical, further from constructive, criticisms. It's hilariously sad that a fucking vaporizer brings out the worst in people.

Fuck Combustion is the leading platform for these type of products, like it or not.

Now, what you wrote is non sense, sorry mate, it is ok to be criticized.
For some odd reason you think I want this vape to fail or don't want it.
I wouldn't waste my time here if it didn't interest me.

"tech advocacy rant" - huh? good look in the front page and see that they talk about the app as a part of the vape functions.
Why is this a rant?

I didn't ask Ghost to go in my direction, I just wanted a more honest and warm feeling from them, but I don't see it.

I, for one, will be trying @tonuzzi 's screen mod...good call!

Try it....easy enough. Just bend a SS screen around the long edges.

crucibleScreen_zpszgyiv3at.jpeg

I used it upside down and upright. The added air flow using upward (normal) made more particles in the load to get stuck all over the entire screen surface. So it sort of helped for the first 2 draws then got too plugged up on following draws for me. It was like, 1 step forward....one back.

Then I was worried that this could be a problem using the screen with regards to possible silicone seal damage. I did not want to risk tearing or wearing down of the silicone from closing/opening up the door.

I am waiting to get a few of the newer lids with slightly larger holes in them. Ghost implied these after release and I did not get them in the 3 piece crucible kit when they started to sell them.

well that sucks. I was going for less sticky mess more than I was looking for more air flow. I'm fine with the air flow as is

stickstones.....still try it anyway. It could be my grind was too small and my flower too good..lol I did not try using bud sections or large grinds. I usually do a medium grind but when I do it too late and get the flower at a lower humidity level....I get more small or dusty particles....though my SLX loves the keif drop with that process when it is grinded too dry.

Interesting, I haven't had any issues of particles getting through the screen or the screen clogging up after a few hits. I use a medium grind from an SLX grinder. My bud is also very sticky and resinous.

tonuzzi.....it could be from moisture level as well as stickyness. Or how full you pack the load. I did not have any particles getting through the screen, just collecting on it.

I gave up using the screen shortly after I started because it did not make anything better for me. And I found cleaning the stock lid easier because it is stronger and I can beat on it with my cleaning process that gets it clean quickly.

This came from official ghost and some what surprised me. Stem height.

"
Adjusting the stem height can greatly affect vapor production and AVB. please try adjusting the stem so it is protruding 1/2".

When adjusting the stem height please rest the edge of your thumb against the top of the Heat Sink to prevent it from rising up and displacing the lid of the Heat Sink.

Try and maintain an even deep draw for the entire draw cycle approx 15 seconds."

Without the app to reset the firmware.....my unit runs hot. I keep the glass stem pulled out all the way possible. I get more than enough vapor the way my unit works right now, and usually do not need to draw more than 6-9 seconds.

Can't wait for the app to drop in either store or to get a side loadable file...wink wink......

so my MV1 just came in the mail today along with the Fast Charger and I've encountered a problem. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or what it is, but when I try to remove the battery, it just won't come out. I've tried everything to get it out but it's not budging. Any advice?

edit: literally after posting this i tried again and got it out...

How hot does the grasshopper get and is it smelly? Curious. After seeing grasshopper pop up a number of times and finally looking at their website, this looks to be a pen like vape that is easily concealable. When you say it's as hot before combusting, do you mean like a firefly 1, have you tried firefly 1 where it's close to combusting but not quite? That ultra warm goodness of a pull. Pax and davinci do that too when they've warmed up towards the mid-end of a session.
Grasshopper and Vapcap are my next two vapes man. Vapcap I hated on because it's a crack pipe man. Now I'm buying a vapcap. Dude told me about it and swore by it and I was like duuuuuddee and then like duuuudeeee! Yeahh..

To mitigate the overheat push the stem in, not out bro. It forces more air through. Try that man. Especially if your taking lighter draws. I'm getting more volume like that too it seems.

I got stuck once. Only once and it took effort to wiggle it out. Not entirely sure how it got stuck exactly.

The MV1 is the worst vape in the world......it causes people to have serious health problems.

It makes vaping illegal and unethical. There is no way any company should make a vape that is not writing here on this forum. This is further an issue because everyone knows that android app development should never ever be separate from iOS development. So this vape is illegal and should be banned from this forum.

So if you have one...watch out...you might just blow up or incinerate yourself. It may also cause serious mental disabilities.
Come on you're holding back. Tell us what you really think! How about: it's Yuge and makes vaping great again!

foolersdelight...... don't worry about the tight fitting crucible door or door latch button. They will both get loose after a couple dozen openings or so. Keep your crucible lid clean and make sure your heatsink/mouthpiece is together properly. Also get used to checking that the heat sink is pushed all the way down into the body before you use it....sometimes it can be just slightly out of position and the vape will not work well.

lol that is what I do not need....more vapor production.....I have tons already and like the lowest draw resistance possible.

yup...that was rhetorical sarcasm.....thus deleted. I don't really think or feel that.....

I have two grasshoppers. One in RMA mode. It is the Ferrari which I treat so kindly cause it is so stealthy impressive. The Ghost is a tank. I expect once it is debugged and mine is close that this will be the superstar that was hyped. The extraction coolness and flavor are pretty much unequaled. The large mass makes it alot easier to engineer compared to the flighty grasshopper IMO.

Even with the PFE the Grasshopper burns my lips. I never use it because of this.

Push the black release button in (on the bottom front of the battery with the front of the vape facing towards you) & pull/slide it up to remove at the same time. Super easy.
