Usually I'll opt to skip ahead to the next paragraph to allow crucible to cool, but I want to stay on topic here for a moment. I then use a nylon bristle brush to clean lid+crucible into my AVB jar. Then I drop the lid and crucible into my cleaning solution.

For my MV1, I close the door, triple click, quickly/gently slide the battery in then out of unit (putting it back into shipping mode). I store my MV1 inside of a Davinci IQ case (electrical tape over zipper to protect from scratching) and I store that inside of my air/water proof box with all my goodies.

@stickstones mentioned using alcohol wipes for cleanup, I also use them for all my vapes. However, for me, the MV1 (expecially the crucibles) just isn't as easy to clean using only the wipes. So, (if you read my previous posts I like to soak my crucibles, lids, heat sink, and ceramic tube in ISO). BUT, I didn't necessarily like dipping my fingers (and equipment) into that ISO every time I used it.

So, over the past 8 days I decided to dilute the alcohol by about 50% with water. Not only do my fingers seriously appreciate it, but it seems to make for a better cleaning agent as well somehow. Maybe it's just that my fingers feel more natural after not enduring the ISO bath, so the surface of the crucible and lid just feel more natural and clean, but either way it's cleaning just as well visibly as before so I'm applying a minor "booyah".

I've developed a hybrid method for cleaning the vape itself. I now use the 50/50 mixture but still soak the heat sink and ceramic tube for up to 15 minutes. When I pull them out I use an alcohol wipe to clean both since they usually still have some residue on them, I also use a q-tip to swab both of them out on the inside. Air dry everything and put it back into my kit when it's dry.

Been super happy with the silver unit and having a 2nd heat sink rig and 14 crucibles makes keeping it clean a breeze - and I know I sound like a broken record, but any vape that is clean performs best that way, MV1 is a standout, no doubt!

Hey @kiddvudu2 , have you tried using dental tools or clay tools with your alcohol wipes to get in the hard to reach places? I use it on other vapes and it helps me get in the edges and corners.

If you dilute the ISO....assuming your using 91%? You should just get 50% rubbing alcohol from the dollar stores. That is what you just made.....the lower %'s of ISO are called rubbing alcohol...they have more water in them....ie what you are doing.

Also, you do not have to soak that long if using 91%...and buy a ton of q-tips to clean with.....makes things go fast and easy!

I'm always leery of using metal with my glass parts. I agree with @Summer, with this vape, nothing other than alcohol and qtips necessary for me to keep it perfectly clean.

Hi there! Yeah, pretty much what I'm doing, except I get the 91% for about the same price and I can get water anywhere at any time pretty much, so carrying 1 bottle of 91% lasts me longer and is easier to transport.

I also, still, reuse the solution that I store in a small tupperware with a lid until it starts to discolor. I can clean 10+ crucibles in approx 2 proper "shots" of solution.

Getting better not hot spotting as much now, I see very very little green bits not fully vaped, its not much but i see it. I also see some black bits in there but I did not taste any burnt popcorn at all while vaping. So does this look normal? Could it look better? Should I see any green at all? My other devices dont show any green at all when I'm done but those devices where conduction, not convection.

Those (black) hot spots in the last pic appear intense and out of the ordinary.... green spots are not ideal.... MV1 operating or being used right wont look like at least the last pic...

oki doki, I haven't stirred the crucible at all, my understanding was that stirring is not necessary with the ghost mv1, but I noticed that many convection vapes need a little stir. I kind of like the idea of the elev8tr how you just shake it between hits to mix it up some, its a cool idea.

Disclaimer: My wife works for Ghost Vapes.

@david8613 - there's not a convection vape I own that doesn't benefit from at least one stir during a session, based on my expectations. If/when you stir is up to you and the results you are trying to achieve. Try it and see if you like it. Since you're chasing a nice, even roast, I think you'll like the results.

Here’s what I do—I ignore the look of my ABV and just concentrate on the taste and effects I get. Who cares about the color of the used herb? I always have a bit of green around the edges, probably because I take rather short draws. That’s more comfortable for me so that’s what I do. I get strong effects, great taste, and herb usage is more efficient than previous vapes. ABV color isn’t that important.

I hate having to stir (Never do with my Plenty, a must with my Tera), the crucibles look like bit of a pain to handle hot for a stir or is it easy to do(like a Tera)?

I only look at my abv to check if I'm getting full extraction on a new device once I see that I am, I dont worry about it too much anymore.

Last night I ran my friends firefly 2 and man that thing hit me real good just like the dynavape "m" did. We didn't even finish the bowl. I hate to say this but the effects were alot stronger with the firefly 2 and dynavap. I am gonna keep playing with mv1 to see if it gets better. I love my mv1 and the concept but right now I'm beginning to think it's not performing optimally.

Hi everyone,

Hope you can help with some good advise.
I have the Ghost MV1 for a few months now (Bought in April), and everything has been great. I also own a couple of other vapes, but ever since a friend recommended the Ghost, I was so happy, because I finally felt like the vaping technology is mature enough to replace smoking for a heavy user like me. So after years of smoking many bong bowls a day, I switched to the Ghost MV1, and never looked back. Most of the times, I was getting thick and satisfying vapor clouds, that were just like doing a bong hit. And I was so happy. So much did I invest in this new wonder, that I also purchased 2 extra batteries, a fast charger and a crucible dispenser. My old bong I gave away, and my other vapes were almost never used since.

Life was good until yesterday, when all of a sudden, the amount of vapor dramatically decreased. From thick clouds, I was down to tiny thin unsatisfying amounts of vapor. I immediately switched to a fresh battery but the issue remained. I then thoroughly cleaned the unit, however to no avail. Nothing I do, no matters how much I pack the bowl, loose or packed, no matter how I grind the material, thin or coarse, no matter how clean the unit is, the amount of vapor I get is pitiful compared to what I was getting just a couple of days ago.

I am really sad to not be able to vape as I am used to for the past couple of days.
I'm so invested in the ghost at this point, that I am not sure what to do without it. Nothing compares to it, and it is no longer working as it used to.

Please help. Is there anything I can do? Perhaps it's a firmware issue? Maybe reset can help?

BTW, I am vaping at 220 Celsius.
I tried reducing the temp, and then raising it back to 220. Still very little vapor.
The airflow is clear, and it feels like plenty of air is coming through, but it is as if the air doesn't heat up enough to produce enough vapor.

It sounds like you’re familiar with your machine since you’ve had successful results up until recently so I’m not going to repeat the usual checklist. But there’s 2 things I can think of to check:

1) Are you using different material from before? Some strains produce more vapour than others. When I know a particular strain produces good results , I always keep some of it on the side so that whenever I encounter the problem you’re having, I revert back to that strain which I know is a vapour producer to determine if there’s something wrong with the machine.

2) I read somewhere either here or on another forum some guy just like you who started with good results but a few months later couldn’t get vapour. Turns out one day after cleaning, he reinserted the heat sink backwards ( i.e. reversed back to front). Silly mistake and chance that he always had inserted the heatsink correctly up until then.

Hey. Thank you for the suggestions.
Unfortunately it is not the material, as it is the same one as before.

As for the heat sink, even though I am not sure how it is even possible to assemble it backwards, I took the cooling unit apart, cleaned it, and put back together several times. Still very little vapor :-(

@Mr.Meeseeks I agree.with @Summer start a support ticket....you have done alot.diagnosis which should speed up the process....I remember reading on vapelife about a guy who had heater failure( not sure if that's what this.is) I'm kinda stumped as you have already tried so much but ...here is the.link to info......

Hey Stickstones , are you still using your whole nuggs method or just with certain vapes ? I've been using that method for about a year now with most of my portables. I just started using it with my FF2+ and it is consistently great. Thanks, you are special to have around.
