Jeez this company is doing all the wrong sorts of viral marketing lol.
Obviously FC is a small portion of the market, if this vape blows up it'll be through the headshop and non FC online sales crowd.

I believe the accurate way to view this is as benefit that Bud (the VC, yeah?) negotiated for his followers/fans/whatever who want to be early adopters. Order through his associate link and if you are in the first 1000, you get a free charger from Ghost. He ain't buying them himself.

The FW4 has been doing all of this (except the metal body of course) for some time - with 18650's and replaceable glass capsules - at half the price of this thing, and in a more pocket-friendly and portable design.
The dream of portable on-demand convection really is limited by bowl size. If you had a huge bowl, flavor would degrade quickly. A small bowl with an easy-to-swap loading system is more practical for on-the-go use for sure. Also, on-demand convection is not really very good for battery life. But 18650's are cheap and powerful - so the whole package just works together so nicely.
I've agreed with you for the most part, but I feel that the more time that goes by without this being released, the more time bud has to vouch and "sell" the product. Personally I think it is to the ghost's detriment. Because of this he is starting to sound more like a spokesmen than a reviewer. And it could still be the best vape ever, but I am finding it difficult to continue to take his word on it. I know your going to get this day 1 and I await your impressions. Just hope I don't miss out on the free charger.

Are you getting one? I'm still looking at portable possiblities and I don't want to write this one off completely but these "sales tactics" are getting old.
I wish from the beginning he would have made a comming soon video and left it at that. Ghost gave him a lot of responsibility considering he's really the only one who knows about it. Not sure I would have taken the approach he has being the owner/operator of vapelife unless I was ALL in.

if you're on board with all these:
1. vape critic's review is representative of what you'd experience
2. you trust his rating system
3. you believe that the MV1 is close to release
...it would make sense to wait. OTOH: vape critic's top-rated vape up to now is the mighty, so it's not like you'll be suffering if you keep the mighty. and nobody really knows how the MV1 will perform over time - it's a new company with no track record (I think). I own a mighty and think it's great, but I'll be curious to hear user reports of the MV1.

I'm seconding the notion for returning the mighty and buying the Tubo if you don't want to wait for this. It is super powerful and less expensive than the mighty. It has replaceable batteries and a good following here at FC.

sigh....probably. Dunno....don't really NEED it, got other things to spend money on (paint outside of house, new carpet, New Vape Flower Pot....er, wait, what was that last one??!!LOL).
Probably will. Bud and I have some differences in our priorities for features/functions, but I do trust him very much on vapor quality.
I do hear what people are saying about the extended sales pitch, it all getting drawn out, and how this doesn't make Bud look any better but that's really not swaying me one way or the other.

The mighty has a bigger bowl and is part conduction, so it's more of a 'pass-around' vape than the mv-1 which is more convection with a smaller bowl (crucible), making it more of a 'personal use' device.
Just in case you wanted a reason to get/keep them both.

The alumina crucible is definitely going to add a hybrid conduction effect. My Divine Tribe dry herb and concentrate atomizers are both conduction and use alumina because it works so well as a conduction surface.

I decided to go with the mighty. You guys are eighth the mighty is more of a session passing vape with a bigger capacity, which is what I want in my main portable. If I want a small personal bowl I'm just going to take it out of my ssv attached to my rig, or my new dynavap also on the way. I think regardless of how the mv1 is those will be better solo vapes, and I can always just through a dosing cap in the mighty aswell. Like people have pointed out here and after seeing Bud's latest video the mv1 isn't as "pure" and "all convection" as I had thought. The Mighty has just been proven, simple to use, and still the one to beat. Although I am interested in the ghost when they work out some design flaws like the crucible caps that lock and temp control on the vape itself, and everyone here has sparked my interest in the milaana or tubo aswell.@ajvapegod

What I mean, don't wait out, by the best product that is now available and fits you, you won't be disappointed.
There's no reason to be a lab rat, you should wait until its released and stable.
Examples : The Cloud and Grasshoper.
If you really waiting for this vaporizer because you want something good but have no other vape - DO NOT wait for it...I'm talking after years or experience.
What I mean, don't wait out, by the best product that is now available and fits you, you won't be disappointed.

I agree. There are amazing portables that are available now (Tubo, and Tubo, and Tubo) that have all the features that people are drooling over, for less money. Plus user replaceable batteries that aren't packaged in a fancy cartridge.
I'm still excited to see this thing in action so I don't want to sound discouraging to anyone, this is mostly just a PSA for those that don't have anything else and are betting the farm on this unproven device that sounds as though it will check every box.
I know that's what I did when I first started vaping. I spent a huge chunk of change on an Ascent. While it is very nostalgic for me and certainly serves its purpose, after I started branching out a bit the chinks in the armor just started becoming evident.

I just watched vape critic's follow-up review (the long one), in which he tries to clarify things. one thing he said was that it's not always necessary, and people might not bother, but if you want full extraction, you do have to stir the crucible at some point mid-way. he says that any all-convection vape will need at least some stirring, due to the fact that the hot air finds pathways through material in the crucible/bowl/chamber, inevitably missing some spots. this makes sense to me, but also makes wonder if this isn't why S&B haven't come out with an all-convection portable. I guess I'm spoiled by the ease of use of the mighty: not fussy about grind, simple to use, even-color ABV every time - and no stirring.
it sounds like the MV1 will be less fussy than the FF2, as far as stirring and grind, but if the vape critic's right, it isn't 'stir-free' - and no all-convection portable will ever be. too bad - if true.

I think it is probably true that no pure convection vape will ever achieve complete extraction without stirring.
So I guess the goal is to make the stirring process as quick and painless as possible. Another demerit for MV1.

save your cash and pick up the swift pro for $99 @P.I.U. just got mine and love it, what a steal. wanna bet it will beat the ghost of a ghost vape? you can buy 3 of them. excellent convection vape at this price. stirring is no biggie to me because there's no rush with convection, herb stays fresh. so every 2 hits I stir. easey peasey.
