excited for fall fishing, putting away the bass gear and focusing on trout again. Anyone getting out?
It's been 2 years since I posted that thread about interest in getting into/learning fly fishing and or Tenkara fly fishing.I eventually settled on getting a full rod/reel fly setup.
I bvought the rod/reel/fly-line setup, and a chest bag and the basics to get started. However, I didn't have waders and boots, and if I waited several months my fly fishing license would cost half as much (because I hadn't lived in the state long enough).
Anyway...because of that gap, the cost of acquiring the waders and wading boots, and getting into some other hobby, it went on the back-burner. Well, I just had the first week paid off work I've taken in two years, and I started it with a several hour intro to fly-fishing class, and then went back and ordered some waders and boots. (Korkers boots were in-stock, and they gave an old pair of loaner waders at no charge till my new Simms waders come in).
I've been out a couple times this week, and will be going out again in the morning (my last vacation day), and I'm loving 9it so far, I'm going out by myself because I don't know anyone that fishes...but I'm reading books, and watching videos, and I live near rivers that can be fished year-around. So, I will keep at it.I can barely cast right now, but it gets better each time.
So, here's to my first few times out to embarrass myself
Trout, here I come to look like a n00b idiot
