I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
I have Rocksmith. It's a good app. It won't necessarily teach you methodology, but it is awesome for muscle memory, training exercises and you get to play some great music along with it.
New version Rocksmith 2014 is dropping in Oct.
Looks like BestBuy has the best prices right now on the orig version. (Steam required for PC version)

Latency can be an issue depending on setup. I have had both PS3 and PC (steam) and find it easier to play on the PC re: latency. See http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...hieving-low-latency-in-Rocksmith-on-PC-Forums
thank you! also just found this...@Bob Loblaw this is hands down the best online free guitar site I have found. Justin is the shit.

The Agile line is considered a good value Korean knockoff Les Paul. Not cheap but not the real deal either.
Another factor/expense to consider is having the guitar setup/checked by a local Luthier. New or used.
thanks for that! the squier was coming from a guitar center so i assumed it was up to snuff.
am trying to save a few dollars and i need a lefty, which is why i posted those ads.
it's gonna be one of those for sure. i just cancelled the squier order. while it would allow me to play the RB3 tracks AND rocksmith, while i'll only be able to play rocksmith with the new lefty, the main reason was the expense/value of the guitar. from what i've read the squier perfoms at about the level of a $100 guitar. so if i'm gonna use a $100 guitar, i'd rather pay that much, and have it be lefty. $250 total for guitar and MIDI controller with RB3, $100-$115 total for a lefty guitar and the new game/ cord.
returned the squier b4 they could ship it.
am 'bout to text the guy in the top ad now.....
i'll keep that guy bookmarked for when i do upgrade, he did have one lefty... too much for me right now...

so i talked to the guy, he found a whammy bar that fit it and installed it, is pluggin it in and tuning it up and driving it over to the wifey's work for me! i shoulda paid for the faster shipping on the rocksmith!!
thanks for the heads up, again, @Rocket you saved me more than a few bones and i'll finally have a PROPER lefty!! am excited for the new games as well, but that's what gamefly is for!!
yea, my frugal common sense won out. this johnson i grabbed is almost new and even if it is crap, i didn't pay hardly nothing for it.Thank goodness dude. I didn't want to say anything, but those squiers are crap. You may find a good one if you go and play every one in the store. But, mainly they never hold a tune and sound like crap.
Still having fun @ www.BoardGameArena.comYes it is! I highly recommend trying out Race for the Galaxy. It feels like Puerto Rico packed into 10 minutes. I also recently learned how to play the game called Caylus which is also on that site. That one reminds me of Puerto Rico in scope and has even less chance involved than PR which is interesting I think. So much interesting player interaction, really brilliant game design.
