Hey guys Happy New Year and a quick update for you:

We currently have 220 people on the G43 waiting list, I can't thank you all enough for your interest and support with this project!

I'm going to do a re-count of my initial order of glass slides to really confirm how many I can use out of that batch. My original manufacturer actually came through last week and shipped me 100 replacements (many more were defective though). I don't have them in my hands yet but fingers crossed they came out good because it'll up the number of units I can build right now.

Most likely I will be able to fulfill orders for the current waiting list, because even though there are 220 of you on there some people will decide not to part with their :2c: when I come asking for it

My current ETA to start taking orders is the 15th, within 2 weeks. For at least the first few weeks I'm going to be shipping out units at the rate of ~10 per day.

All units will be going out with the 510 connector to hook up to a mod for power, and I have 100 Wismec P80's in stock for the first 100 people that need one. After those are gone I'm not certain yet if I will be stocking any more mods, but I'll keep you posted. Very soon I will post full details on which mods and which firmwares work, but this was briefly mentioned earlier in the thread if you're in the dark about it.

I'm having trouble with the battery holder-only connector, I planned on including this part with the base G43 kit but I haven't been able to successfully address the battery protection issue. Using an 18650 in an unprotected holder is no bueno (see my recent stream for proof LOL), and making it protected is proving to be more of a PITA than I anticipated.

If and when I figure this problem out I will be sending everybody who orders the kit now a free battery holder part. PLEASE NOTE: It is possible that I may not be able to solve this problem, and it may not be worth pursuing a solution further if it's going to take up too much time or resources.

When used with a mod the vape works more consistently, the temp is adjustable, and it's MUCH safer, but I do like the raw experience of the holder-only and wanted you guys to experience it too, so I'm not going to stop working on it just yet.

To try and make up for this you guys are welcome to use the discount code STAYUP for free shipping when I start taking orders, even those of you outside the USA. I'm going to include a free 18650 for as many people as I can, I know most of us have a bunch of them already but some people have told me they don't have any at all so I bought 100 batteries too.

I'll post another update within about a week once the replacement slides come in and I have a firm number of how many units I can build total. That's also when I'll post the details on when I'll be reaching out to the waiting list and how you'll order when the time comes

The standby list is still active so if you're interested in one of these vapes please let me know here and you'll be added right away.

Thank you again everybody for your comments and questions!

And don't even get me started on how much I truly appreciate your enthusiasm about this!!

Stay up!
-Bud

Just wanted to do a quick update on "2 hour mode" on the wismec 21700. You can get roughly 2 hours of continuous operation, but you'll only get it consistently if you use the stealth mode/low contrast or the screen will cause the wismec to overheat. With the screen on normal I'll rotinely get an overheat or two around the 25-30 minute timeline.

A further update on cleaning, I still haven't had to clean my G43, just the herb chamber, but everything still clean and working great. I haven't been using water though, so I haven't had any backwash fly up into the unit.

All in all, still a great addition to my vape collection. This one has basically taken over my portables. The only time I use something else is when I really need to keep everthing in my pocket..that's hard to do with a jhook. Ghost and Fury 2 handle that for me, so even the mighty has been supplanted. I really want one of the custom 510 connectors though, I should think about getting on the list.

Glad to see this project moving so fast but I can't help thinking you'd be better off using a 3 way glass piece, using the side arm for the electrics so the flex and the connectors sit outside the airpath.
If you wrap a bit of fancy string round the 3rd arm to protect users from the heat you could use it as a handle (like the flowerpot :) ) too.

I don't know the scientific glass terminology to find the right piece with standard fittings but this glass T connector should give you an idea of what I mean
http://unisciencelab.com/product/tubing-connector-t-shape/
Something like that with an 18mm female and a 14mm female connector on each end of the longer tube would be ideal
The closest I've seen so far are a glass bridge adapter
https://vapefiend.co.uk/products/18mm-bridge-adapter
Or a distillation adapter

Any videos other then Buds yet ? Without water tool and j-hook? I never received a prototype  I was looking forward to it so I wouldnt be accused of having only one vape anymore (i have others) and show everyone I'm unbias when the product and service is great ! I'll consider the G43 for 2019 but have eyes on 1 other vape already

Nice to see you hanging out here and enjoying FC , @VCBud

Congrats on the G-g-g-g-g-G-Unit , love the logo

Is there a quick connect to go from mod attachement option to battery clip option?

Hey guys what's up!

Big update today that I'm writing up now, please standby.

I'll edit this post and add all the info in when I'm done writing it up

Hello @P.A.M.

Claude, Duff and I believe a few other testers posted some short clips of them taking rips but I don't know the links off hand, I'll find them for you.

Yes there is quick disconnect to change your power source but unfortunately the current status of the battery holder-only attachment is on hold, it's requiring too much time and work to add the protection needed to offer it to you guys which is a bummer. But, it works pretty damn well with a mod and I'm currently sourcing cool bands to hold your mod to your rig while you use it.

With good mods being so affordable , I really don't see much of a need for the battery holder approach myself.
By adding protection or whatever all you're doing is re-inventing the wheel.

If I were you I wouldn't feel bummed at all!
You've developed what appears to be a really awesome vape, why bother with remedial measures?

I completely agree with Copacetic, Bud. Unnecessary, makeshift work for you .. unless, of course, sometime down the road you want to pursue it as a hobby & see if it comes to fruition.

Sorry for the delay!

Here's where we're at:

I did not want to delay taking orders and shipping out units, so what I did delay is a few other things like my full G43 video, but it won't take too much longer for that.

ORDERING:

We will be messaging 10 people from the waiting list per day letting you know that you can now place your order.

Please create a shop account if you haven't already: https://shop.vapelife.com/account/register

Right now ordering the G43 is disabled for the general public, and what we're going to do is tag your accounts on the backend to enable ordering for you when your turn comes up.

I'm also going to send a private message about this to those of you on the waiting list.

One of the other few things that is getting a little delayed is creating fancy ordering pages in the store for the different G43 bundles, so for now we will adding basic menu options to the ordering page.

These options will include:
Preferred RDA Style?
Add P80 Mod?
Add Battery?
Add Glass J-hook?
Add 14mm Adapter?

More accessories including the healthstones and y-adapters are coming soon but are not in stock yet.

SLIDES:

We finished taking inventory of all the glass slides we have, including the small shipment of replacements I just received last week.

Here's the slide breakdown:

GOOD: 267 pcs
MAYBE: ~150 pcs
BAD: ~150 pcs

The ones that are MAYBE have slight flaws but some of them can probably still be used to make a vape if it came down to it. These will be held on the side until we run out of good ones.

This means we should be able to send units to everybody on the list right now, and depending on how many people drop out there should be more spots opening up too.

GLASS RIGS:

My preferred glass piece to use this with is the 12.5" Stereo Matrix Rig that NewVape sells, but any 18mm rig will work and you can also find a variety of inexpensive ones on dhgate.

It also works great with a simple glass J-hook, and I have a bunch of those in stock that can be added on.

BATTERIES:

Samsung 30Q and Sony VTC6 batteries are good enough for this vape because of its low current draw, you can go with a lower amp rating to get a higher mAh capacity. The 30Q and VTC6 batts are 15A and 3000mAh.

Basically any 18650 batteries on the market should work, should. I've been buying mine from IMRBatteries without issue.

CHARGERS:

Nitecore seems to be the brand of choice among many, and I've been using this brand for a while too. Lately I'm using my Q4 model charger, which isn't digital but it can charge at 2A. They have a D4 model with a digital readout but it charges at a slower speed, which is said to extend overall battery life.

These chargers are all pretty cheap and only run ~$13-$24 at IMRbatts.

MODS & FIRMWARE:

Myself and the other testers have mostly been using a Wismec P80 mod with the MyEvic firmware loaded on them.

You can also use the Tubo Evic firmware to power the G43, but it just so happens that it won't load onto the P80 mods that I bought, unfortunately.

Check out nfeteam.org for a list of mods that allow you to update the firmware, as well as the software to load it on.

The only feature we're trying to get by updating the mods is the "autofire, cruise, or session" modes that allow it to stay powered on longer than the standard ~15 seconds at a time.

CLEANING
:

I'm still working on getting my full cleaning tutorial finished, but in the meantime you shouldn't need to worry about doing a deep clean for a while.

A pick tool is all that is really needed for regular cleaning and maintenance, and one will be included with the kit. Every dozen sessions or so you'll probably want to take a cotton swab dipped in ISO and quickly wipe out the inside of the chamber to keep it fresh.

GRINDERS:

Any grinder will work!

The G43 isn't sensitive to grind consistency which means you can use anything from coarse to finely ground bud and it'll work as it's supposed to. It'll even vape though hand torn bud, although it's better when it's ground.

MORE UPDATES SOON THANKS GUYS!

Super cool, Bud.

Just my opinion but it seems like more trouble than it's worth to offer a dozen RDA options for a 510 connection. I'd be okay with zero options and you just picking one that was reliable and available.

Everyone, I just gotta say- I have kind of watched this project grow and develop from the sidelines, like a parent watching their toddler playing Sunday footy in the park.
I have not followed as closely as most and I am still foggy and vague on all of the little aspects and intricacies of the project and device itself.

In that, when it comes to it- I'm going to need a re education or crash course on the basics just to get everything clear and up-to-date in my mind.

This is largely due to the fact that I cannot assume I will be able to tolerate the G43. So I'm not letting myself get excited and start planning ahead too much.

However, this is my point- I'm not at all worried about this (not having followed so closely so far, taking note alongbthe way etc)
-because I feel like with Bud behind this, the way he is so committed and dedicated to this, and especially the way he is reaching out to everybody and taking everybody's experiences and comments on board without exception, to try and make sure that every little thing is addressed and nobody is unhappy....

And especially providing such thorough and well-thought-out resources and instruction videos etc for every necessary aspect...

Well Its great to see anyway. Right down to the bolts I am confident I should be able to pick everything up as and when I need to, with online personalised support from lovely, caring people.
Huge credit to Bud and Hazel for the way they are running this so far, and accomodating us all so openly.

The G43 is as serious as any other vape project, yet there is such an enormous sense of fun and light-heartedness to this whole thing.

I know Bud has both his fans and critics (lol, the Critic critics!) But one thing I can say which has become abundantly clear to me, Bud is a really lovely guy who puts others before himself and really goes out of his way to try and make people happy for all the right reasons. And he truly is as open minded as anybody.
Just giving credit where it is due.

Good job Bud, keep it going and wishing you the utmost success bro.:rockon:

Bro......I will bet the farm and say this vape will not irritate you....pretty smooth vapor even on big hits. I find it one of the smoothest least irritable vapes I have tried....and I am fairly sensitive as you know.

So....I will be happy when you get to try it finally instead of listening to me and others tell you all how awesome it is.

I will defend Bud and the battery holder version......basically....it makes using it much different. Quicker and more simple to use right off the bat. With just a battery and holder instead of the heavier and larger mod......it makes for a smaller footprint in use so to speak.

It is not as big of difference as say an IH compared to a torch with a vapcap....but somewhere along that line of the vape just being less stress or messing around to use.......like little thinking and no button pushing...haaa

Yes I sure hope so. But that isnt how it works with me though and my truly unexplainable intolerances. It has nothing to do with smoothness or vapour quality. Well actually it does in that the better quality vapor producing devices are likely to be a problem for me even if they're the smoothest most comfortable vaporizers out there.

The MV1 8s a prime example. Notoriously smooth. Very high vapor quality. I only had 2 crucibles over 2 nights.
I really enjoyed using it. It was so smooth I felt nothing from it. No irritation whatsoever. But I still had a very severe allergy type reaction and I suffered badly for 3 days in total deoxygenation with no energy at all and unable to enjoy the single moment of life until the reaction finally war off.

I could not have vapes more than 1 Crucible on either of those occasions and I could not have used the device again for a third day running it was just unthinkable.

I could not use that of vaporizer even on the lowest temperature and the most invisible hits my immune system somehow just flags it's vapour production as an invader and responds aggressively in a completely unnecessary manner.

No other explanation makes sense to me so far, this is just my thinking though from what I have learned and picked up.
The EVo too- an obvious one for others to recommend to me to try as many have, for cleaning materials and extremely smooth vapour.

Same deal it was simply impossible for me to use at any heat setting and any level of vapour production.
The Elev8r- I hit it extremely hard and to be honest it is often very harsh for me with the big hits due to my varying level of infection. It does irritates me often as generally any hard hitting dense crowd will.

As ever the level of irritation I experienced is directly in line with the infections in my system.

So I can hit the Elev8r so hard it's ridiculous and suffer substantial irritation in the process which I recover from fairly quickly tbf, a great aspect of that vape... But I dont experience this type if immune response to it. I still suffer a respiratory allergy type reaction to vapour full stop no matter what model I use. But certain vapes, Im reacting in a "baseline" way to the vaporized plant material, not to a much greater degree on top as with the intolerable ones.

So it ain't at all black and white. Not predictable, although the better quality the Vapour, the smoother, purer, more psychoactive and medicinal, the more likely I am to have a problem.

I am hopeful for the G43. Really need to crack on and try and get my money back for my MV1 bundle at least before I am even cash ready for the G, have just been too unwell to do anything except daily essentials if even managing that for quite some time recently.

Right, that's it. Im gonna crack on and make it happen fast now you watch!

@Alexis did you try vaping just PG or VG. How did you react?

I love the simplicity of this vape. Would a heating coil encapsuled in glass (SiO2 or not) work well too?
I have a vague idea what compounds you are referring to. But no way, I could never tolerate anything like that I can't take any form of CBD oil not even one drop. I haven't been able to use any type of toothpaste since 2005 I just use Himalayan salt.

I'm extremely intolerance to 99% plus of all supplements. I could not consider cbd flower as I am also allergic to virtually all fertilizers including the Organic ones.
Basically I have a problem with just about everything with a very tiny percentage of exceptions.
To this day they are still only two types of herbal tea that I can tolerate without adverse reaction being nettle and camomile neither of which I like at all but they are the only teas I have tried that do not cause me problems.

Other than that it's plain water 100-percent home cooked unrefined food from a very restricted but extremely healthy diet. And just a small handful of supplements out of many hundreds I have tried over the years which I can use to manage my allergies and infections.

It's really walking a tightrope, with no wiggle room for detour without major consequences which get me back on that rope instantly.
I've never met anybody else to be so reactive to everything that enters the body, and nobody has ever been able to come close to understanding or being able to relate.

So take my advice, avoid ticks at all costs! ;)

PG Polyethyleneglycol, VG Glycerine it is the "smoke" in the e-liquids.

I do best with unrefined foods too. Best is homegrown stuff if the fertilisers are right of course. I think a lot of people would profit of a similar regime.
If you wanted to try CBD flowers you probably should try grow them yourself or by the people that support you.

Ticks? They love me. All kind of ticks!haha Got lyme disease a couple of times. I read a bit about lyme disease. It can explain everything and nothing according to what I read. How does it connect for you? I am mostly interested in what helps you. But in another thread?

G-43 Has an exposed SS316L coil inside the Slide body. Ti being an electrical conductor might cause some issue's . This is part reason behind haveing Boro- Due to its being inhert and unconductive.

Edit

Might be best is Vapecritic answers this but,

A heating coil encapsuled in glass would add more heat up time and most proberly need a more powerfull heater. Moving it from a battery powered device to a mains style. Somthing I think the man wanted to stay away from .

Just me Thoughts not fact. Please correct if im wrong

I agree. I chose Ti as an example for something with a big heat conductivity and capacity. I am not familiar with coils at all, but I think you are right it might short circuit the coil.
I have the idea that you want something that can store quite a bit of heat and give it away very easily to the air when needed as bead material. I think SiO2 is not the best material, borosilicate glass is better already.
A high end diamond filled g43 would work best, probably.

Similar with the glass capsule for the coil. I completely agree it probably would need more heat up. Maybe there is another more heat conductive glass? or SiC?

I mostly like the G43 as it is ... I wuldn't mind some minor tweaks, but if you put the heater in a glass tube, why not just do the GS as pictured by Stormy? I think the smaller 3 way glass could be good, but changing the heater is a bit much IMHO.

And as it is, it RIPS! capital with a bang. If it were too much better, like, vape companies would start going out of business, so be careful how much you improve it.
