G Pen Elite Vaporizer

Take my money
Well preference is subjective, digital displays and temp control dont matter much to me. Most of my favorite vapes are manual, my primary concerns are vapor quality, speed, production and efficiency. Look into just about any butane vaporizer and you'll see this unit outclassed handily on these concerns.

If you're looking for a comparably priced unit with similar features that outclasses it on both my own interests and fancy doo-dads look into the boundless cf/cfx. Don't look on Dhgate for this one though, even though its made in China it actually seems to be an original design and despite its runaway success it hasn't been "cloned". Have a good one dude.
Yeah your right for butane vape, but these one belong in an other categorie imo.
The CF/CFX seems a really good unit for the price and probably outclass the elite on many point if not all, but I can't talk about that unit, I've never try one ;).
You can find Firefly, Mighty, pax 2, Goboof... Clone on DHGate by the way... With minor aesthetics difference, but they don't came from the same factory, trust me.
And if the CFX become pretty popular, they will made ripoff for sure!

I have the CFX/CF and the Elite and I use the Elite more than my CFX or CF. The 4 main points you mention looking for (vapor/speed/production/efficiency) are really really similar between the Elite/CFX/CF, the biggest differences are form factor and size. I prefer the vapor quality most from the CFX, then the Elite, then my CF. But the Elite is also Drastically smaller than the CF and CFX, so I take it skiing/biking etc, whereas the CFX mostly gets used at home, and there are better choices while at home. Here are a few shots showing the size difference, I could fit over 3 elites in the size of the CFX, and about 2.5 elites in the size of the CF

ohh well.... after some serious and time consuming research according to my budget I finally ordered my G Pen Elite tonight.
I was going for a Focus Vape in the beginning but for some reason the Elite had me.
The fact that I found it with some discount from vaporizor.com along with the convenience of paypal and credit card payment and the inside EU shipment, really mattered. Focus vape is mainly available from PIU with normal payment conditions and I would almost give the same that I paid for the Elite. I got it for 136E including a 7-10 tracked delivery! Pretty good deal I must say!!
Of course, @BuzzDanklin's great review also helped a lot man!! credits to @SantoSkywalker as well..really nice review too!
Now, from being only with my Lotus, I'll end up with 3 ladies in total! woohooo
On the waiting list for a GH, which I'll be receiving within June/July(fingers crossed)

Really excited and I hope I made a good choice here as well! :D

I ordered a G Pen Elite because of the rave reviews at that price point. Seems like the poor cousin of the Pax 2, but we'll see when it comes in...

Where did you get yours from?

Vape Mood site. $15 off, free shipping, plus free glass container (which I needed), and a 4-piece grinder (which I really don't). There are various packages and sales all either giving a small item away or giving somewhere between $15-20 off.

Where did you get yours from? Also, I would love to hear your reports. This vape is actually for my girl (I already have Aromed, Pax, and Plenty) and I've been working for months trying to get her off combustion. Anyway, I'm curious about your opinion once yours comes in.

Mine is from vaporizor.com, I'm saying it in my post just before yours :p and I'm getting some discount as well which came to 155$ (136E) including everything plus a $20 gift coupon for a T-shirt that I don't know if I qualify for that or not. They will let me know from tomorrow I think.. It will be cool to get a free T-shirt as well tho.. I was checking out some of the designs and some of them look pretty descent!

Your deal sound good as well though. The glass container is handy indeed. I ve been using a small med glass container that I found from a relative of mine which was super tiny and bulky at the same time!! Unfortunately, I forgot it some time ago down a pub with a bit of herb in as well.. Oh well.. shit happens.. Now I'm using a small plastic bowl with a cap as well from a delivery that I received and they brought me the salad sauce in that :p
I'm also having as my outdoor container the small case from the Lotus top plate part. This is very small and confy to have with as well. That replaced my small glass med bottle that I had.
edit: Speaking of which.. :sherlock:

#/chatty mode off

Let's see how the Elite will come.. I'll be waiting your feedback as well since you're used with other battery powered vaporizers. This will eventually be my first personally owned battery powered one. I've tried others in the past from friends. I was hoping that the Grasshopper would have been my 1st one but I think that the Elite will do the honour!! :D So I'm very excited that I will be able to watch a movie or do something else and vape at the same time without having an external heating source (i.e torch for the Lotus :p) while using both hands and eye sight at the same time!! THIS WILL BE AMAZING!!!:rofl:

Noob here. Just got my G Pen Elite from Vape Smart. They sent out a coupon code for 10% off plus free shipping. Not too bad, I say. Anyway, here was the discount code I used : summertime582 - somebody might need it. Applies to all orders they say.

Any tips on using this would be greatly appreciated. Peace!

Have you watched Buzz Danklin's review at vaporizerwizard.com? That may help you with tips.

I've had the Elite for a few days now and a few observations:

1) The oven is HUGE. I have to figure out a way to "shrink" it (like the Pax screen trick). Suggestions welcome!!!
2) Specific control of temperature in a vape this small is nice.
3) Being able to charge with micro-USB and use it while it's charging is another bonus.
4) It takes a few rotations before the factory taste goes away. I tried ISO soaking and even that didn't remove that taste... but it eventually went away.
5) The bottom isn't flat, so you'll need to hold it while loading (a bit of a pain at times)
6) It's very small and heats up very fast.

Overall, for the price, this a clandestine vape that performs quite well. I'm curious to see how the plastic housing holds up to my inevitable drops, but it seems solid. Once I figure out how to use less material in the over, I'm going to be one happy Elite owner.

Would a stand help with filling so it will stand up safely? If so...HEY @Ratchett !!! Here's another product suggestion for you! Just sayin...

Yeah, I don't know why this thread is not more active seriously (and still in upcoming and unreleased) , I know that Grenco don't have a good reputation , but I use the Elite almost every day since two weeks with my friend, and this vape is truly in an other game than their other product IMO.
At 195° the taste is better than a lot of unit i've used and he reach that temp in less than 30sec! It's one of the smallest vape in the market, lcd screen, ceramic bowl, and it's one of the cheapest too.
On the down side, the mouth piece can be hot if you don't place you lips at the right place and you have to pull a bit hard, it's not a free flow kind of vape, but i've seen worst in higher price vape.
I do not believe that it is convection to be honest, but I know that Grenco is claiming that the Elite is a convection vape but I like to hear anyone with good knowledge on that topic....

It's a conduction vape. I have an Elite and really like it, but it's conduction because the material is heated by touching the ceramic oven sides. At best... MAYBE... you could say it's a combo conduction/convection because I imagine a small portion of the material is heated with air only, but this is a conduction unit. A good one, though.

Interesting points that make me feel some excited since I'm getting mine from the post tomorrow morning!!!

Nevertheless, I'll be working all day long and tomorrow night I'm flying to an island for the w/end for a wedding... If only I get it with me packed or shall I wait to get back on Monday... This will be a hard one to decide...:hmm::tinfoil:

@IceColdATLien what's the smallest load u've tried that is good to use with really?? From what I read is what I was "afraid" of..micro loading that I'm used at right now... in which case, maybe loading .4, .5 eeach time is even better than having "hit-type" loading. As long as that doesn't effect the taste though. If through this .5 has only 1-2 decent flavoured/taste hits, then this may be a little bit annoying.. anywayzz...we'll see... till tomorrow!! :D :worms:
Least but not last, is it recommended that you fully charge it before you use it for the 1st time or does it come fully charged or so?

It turns out that, unlike the Pax, I've been able to use very small amounts (0.1-0.2 g) in the oven with no problem. Not sure if it's because the oven is ceramic instead of metal, but I've been able to use varying quantities from 0.1 to almost a full g without noticing virtually any difference in vapor quality, flavor, etc. Of course, if you're chasing clouds (something that never made sense to me as those huge clouds are just wasting wonderful compounds into the air... but I digress), then I imagine a full oven would be needed but I really don't know.

It is recommended in the manual to charge for at least 3 hours before using. Mine was already mostly charged as three bars (out of four) were showing out of the box, but I still charged for 3 hours because good batteries like that will have their life shortened and hold charges for less time if you don't. One last note, you can vape while it's charging (that's fire), but it needs at least 20% of a charge to do that.

Finally, do 2 or 3 burn-offs to get rid of factory junk. The first sessions are just awful tasting (and probably very unhealthy). After that, though, it's all good.

I got this last week and have a few questions, it's my 1st dry her vapor. Anywho,

Haven't seen anyone comment specifically on this one, but I've read up on vaporizers in general. How long do you guys get out of 1 load? I don't have a digital scale, so I'm not sure how much I'm using. But I'm using the included grater and filling the chamber a little more than half way and semi packing it down with the G Pen tool. After 3-4 hits it's pretty much spent. Reading on other units I see people claiming 10+ and even up to 20 before they have to reload the chamber. I'm not taking super long deep draws, wondering if I should be getting more than 3-4 here. Temp wise I've tried 350, 375 & 390f without noticing much difference. Except how much cloud's produced.

LOOOOOONG post here, but you seem to be new to vaporizing, and I remember how much it sucked not knowing anyone to help me and having to sift through a thousand sites, with ten times the number of vaporization "experts" who don't know what they're talking about, before figuring out what I have until now. You'll go through a transition from smoking to vaping that will be frustrating at times because the difference between smoking and vaping is like the difference between driving a car and a boat. There's so much information I want to give you, but many other sites have done much better than I ever could. A few are below. For what it's worth, this is what I wish someone had to told me when I started vaping...

You won't sense the vapor like you do smoke (smell, taste, feel down the trachea into the lungs), but you've already noticed higher temps = more visible vapor. Lots of people like "cloud chasing," which is particularly illogical with vapor considering that "super-dope cloud" that impressed everyone contains the cannabinoids you paid for. Don't get caught up in seeing your vapor like with smoke. Anyway, my draws with my first vape were overkill because I was hitting it hard and fast (like with a bong) because I was accustomed to "feeling" the smoke tell me when to stop hitting. Vapor sorta sneaks into your throat and lungs (compared to smoke's contaminants). My problem was I felt I wasn't inhaling much of anything... even though I was inhaling more cannabinoids than with the same volume of smoke (efficiency of vaping is SO much better than combustion... it has to do with the extreme combustion temps which destroy cannabinoids). So my draws were few, unnecessarily thick, very wasteful, and generally disappointing.

My lessons were:
- Vapes aren't bongs, so don't hit them the same way;
- Don't expect the same sensory experience as with smoke (seems like nothing is happening because you don't feel the same effects like with smoke immediately - due to the contaminants - while cannabinoids take 5-10 minutes to kick in;
- Realize that vapor contains far more cannabinoids than combusted herb smoke and what were considered small hits during your smoking days are normal hits when vaping.

You mentioned not taking long, deep draws. However, slower/longer, yet easier draws, which won't impress idiot friends, are best for vaping. It takes longer for a vaporizer to heat herb because you're dealing with 300-400F temps. It's about 2500F in a pipe or bong bowl when fired. Therefore, it's obvious that quick, hard hits are appropriate for combustion, but slower, easier draws are where it's at in vaporization. For me, it simply came down to personally experimenting (which were the most fun experiments I've ever conducted!) to determine proper draw technique, which is different depending on the vape type (conduction vs. convection, desktop vs. portable, etc.).

Vapor characteristics are a function of many things, not the least of which is whether you dry cure your herb AFTER you purchase (or originally curing your homegrown). Herb to be combusted needs to be slightly moist and dank. Much drier herb is necessary for most vapes, especially portables. I let my newly-acquired material dry out a day or two before (depends on the humidity), THEN grind it and vape. One reason for your experience of so few draws could be that your herb wasn't dry enough.

Forget that card grater and invest in a good 4-piece grinder. SpaceCase is my preference, but they're crazy expensive (and completely worth it IMO). One of the sites below will help you choose a grinder. I emphasize 4-piece because you want to collect the kief (has the highest concentration of THC) from the grinding process. Some vapes need finely ground herb to function properly (hello, MFLB), but it appears from my experience and those I've read that the Elite needs just a normal, medium grind. So I'm thinking another potential reason for your experience of so few draws was that card didn't grind the herb properly. I've never used the card, so I'm speculating there.

- DON'T THROW AWAY THE AVB/ABV. I say AVB ("already vaped bud"), others say ABV ("already been vaped). Of course, the term is redundant, but that's my old high school lit teacher still in my head! Part of vaping vs. combustion is avoiding the carcinogens released at high temps. The problem is that avoidance means you're also avoiding many cannabinoids still in the material. Therefore, trashing your AVB is trashing lots of valuable cannabinoids. There are many ways to extract those cannabinoids without being exposed to the carcinogens. I personally shy away from techniques using explosive materials and chemicals because of my preference for all-natural ingestion (cooking, making capsules, etc.). I'll include some links for you on this, also.

As for the Elite, I've not had it long enough to confidently provide data (hits/load, etc.), but only 3-4 for half that oven is ridiculously few. I only have the above guesses for you unfortunately.

There's a lot to learn about vaping and unlearn from smoking - dank vs dry herb is a perfect example. Just keep plugging along and remember the extra time and effort spent to protect your lungs is worth it. Think of being in a hospital bed 20-30 years from now, dying of lung cancer, wondering if it was worth investing time into "all that new-fangled vaporization learnin" (yeah, I'm originally from Georgia).

Anyway, here are just a few links I've found. I'm not a rep, get compensated by, get free stuff from, or have any affiliation with these sites, and there are probably better ones than these I haven't found yet. I don't agree with everything any of them have to say, however - used collectively - I found them helpful during my "Fuck Combustion Transition."

http://www.vapecritic.com/ - Like everyone else, I don't agree with him on everything, but his site has a ton of info I initially found useful on my current vape/MMJ journey. He's kinda corny at times, hasn't reviewed the world's best vape yet (Aromed 4.0), and has no official/pro training... but he knows a lot about vapes and vaporization and is upfront about his financial ties to the industry. Especially check out the "More/Tips & Tricks" section for info on packing vapes, need for drier herb to vape, temps to use, cleaning tricks, etc. He also has lots of info on grinders, tutorials, etc.

https://www.medicaljane.com/category/cannabis-classroom/ - While the vaping experience (taste, smell) and efficiency is vastly superior to combustion, my main reason for the switch were the medical benefits. I have dug up a lot of MMJ research and related what I found to vaping. Once it was clear what I was trying to accomplish with vaping, it became much easier to figure out how to do it using this site as a class of sorts.

http://beyondchronic.com/about-beyond-chronic/ - This is the Old Hippie's site. He started down the MMJ path and has collected lots of phenomenal info on vaporization, recipes for how to extract remaining compounds from AVB (and fresh herb), and generally is dedicated to utilizing herb for medicine in the safest, most efficient, and most enjoyable ways he can find.

http://www.southerncannabis.org/medical-marijuana/infuse-coconut-oil-with-marijuana/ - I use coconut oil almost exclusively when extracting from AVB and this site is just one of many illustrating why.

I wish you the best of luck and please let me know of anything you learn about the Elite along the way!

Vapour RebeL
After having the elite for just over a week now, I have to say that this little thing is a very handy and mobile vaporizer that I happened to order. I'm sure I do not sound ecstatic and all over the place but this is mainly due to the fact that I had the funny-taste-phase to go away until I started getting some proper hits and unfortunately with the vapor quality not lasting too long.

Other that that, in fact it does heat up really fast! I was amazed watching the 'C going up like mad.. :p And most than probably this is why the vapor quality doesn't last longer. By having an almost pure conduction vape your herb gets extracted faster that it should be, or you're getting the juices faster than you would imagine. Being used with the lotus, it still seems a bit weird that I'm able to get my 1st hit in around 20" and finish up either a small or a normal load in an 1-hit style. This could be an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time. The most I've put so far should be around .35-.4 which I had to push it down several times to fill it all in and this gave me around 3-4 really decent flavoured hits. The buzz that gives me nice and the overall taste of my mouth afterwards is ok as well. The flavour is with Lotus hands down but still, being able to use the other hand is another advantage :p

Overall, I'm not thrilled from it but I do like it along with its discreet design! This is a huge pros! I'm still using Lotus at home but for outdoors the Elite works like a charm. You don't have to be carrying a bunch of things to get you high. Just your herbs and the Elite, and you're ready to go.

Battery wise, I'm getting around 6-7 full sessions. Session for me is when getting the chamber to the desired temp, then get it around maximum and finish up your load like that. Even if you leave your initial bowl to finish it up in 2-3 heat ups the battery that you have consumed is like having another full load, more or less.
I'd say that with a fully charged battery you're good for a day on the go. If you'll be sitting at home watching tele, playing PS and stuff like that again a fully charged battery would easily get you going until early-mid afternoon like 5-6 o'clock or maybe more.
Vapour density wise, you'll only see significant vapours around 205-206'C and more. Maximum for me is around 210-212, I don't see the reason for more especially when you're not having with a bong or something.

Anyway, this is my pound and my penny for the Elite so far. Hopefully it'll get better with the time.

Had the G Pro Elite. I've been using a regular cheaply grinder and/or the wallet card grater. Obviously I get best results from a full pack but I try and be conservative. If I pack a real low bowl it will puck eventually and give me good results. But I feel like this thing is eating my weed. Luckily I've the titanium SpaceCase 4 piece grinder coming in the mail today.

Anyone else noticing this?

Sorry but I don't understand how the titanium spaceCase 4 piece grinder can help for your issue.....with a fine grind you will pack more flowers in the bowl which is less conservative for your weed and for the taste.

If the G pen elite eat your stash maybe you can try ungrounded flowers loosely packed..although with some full conduction unit this will produce thinner vapor. In another hand I don't own the Elite.

Has anyone tried using a spacer like used in the pax (folded screen approach) to use/cook less and conserve? If so, can you provide a review of results? Thx!
