I heard an analogy of this Cantor defeat as a typical Frankenstein story. Dr. Frankenstein creates a monster who ends up coming back to kill him. Cantor helped to create the Tea Party and guess what happened? Kinda apropos, eh?
But yeah, agree with Vicki. He was a smug SOB. But in the end, will his defeat really be a good thing considering that the guy who beat him felt that he wasn't conservative enough and seems to be even more of an obstructionist especially when it comes to things like immigration reform.
The Republicans NEED to get the Hispanic vote. They lost the general election without it last time and they will lose the general in 2016 if they don't get it and not passing a comprehensive immigration reform could put the nail in that proverbial coffin.............again.

I like the analogy. They're rapidly losing whatever asian vote they had as well. I wonder if Cantor's smugness isn't really a sign of insecurity, because cantor is much easier to spell than murkowski and she made it work when she was in a similar situation (joe miller).

I could have seen Hendrix' recording the Band of Gypsy's album at the Fillmore East on New Year's Day back in '70, but couldn't get there because of a ticket fuck up.
I still regret to this day not being able to witness that...FUCK!!!
Yeah, I saw his last performance with the Band of Gypsy's at the Forum in LA. It was his last performance in the US before he died. I shed a tear when that happened.
