Fuck the Parkinson's, the Dr just gave me a reason to smoke MORE!

deadheadbill

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
Yeah, I carry them with me when I go out to the pub or whatever and just ask people to sign them. I mail them and everything so people are more willing to sign.

Can you imagine if we can present them with over a MILLION signature?!?! :D

This thread is pretty awesome, I have been following it but would like to join in on the fun. I was born with a heart murmur and about a year ago had a implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) put in my chest. Pretty much it just hangs out there and if some serious cardiac problems arise it will shock my heart then pace it to a normal rhythm. Same concept as the defibrillators used all the time just i carry it in me at all times lol. The doctor kind of described it as a insurance policy in case i have a heart attack or something with no one around, gives me more freedom to exert myself and working out isn't a problem. Heres a pic my first time exposing myself to FC lol(bet you guys cant guess my age) You can see the small scar from the arthroscopic surgery and the lump in my chest which is the defibrillator. All i have to take is a beta blocker once a day to keep my heart rate down. My prayers go out to you guys with serious problems and i hope one day with technology we will find a cure to give you a better quality of life.

Another funny tidbit right before i went into surgery the anesthesiologist's came in and asked me if I was a drug user, I said no but kind of hesitated and they explained that if i was a meth/heroin user it could seriously affect the anesthesia. Then my father blurts out "He smokes weed all the time" They just smiled and wheeled me into surgery.

Hardcore, dude. I've got a bunch of scars too. Not nearly as cool as having an electric heart, though. What are ya, mid-20s?

Edit: also my mom really wanted me to tell the ER doc that I used medical, the doc was like "so anything I need to know before we start treating you?" I looked at my mom and said "yeah uh I use medical marijuana for pain and to help me sleep. Does that count?" She glanced at my mom and just smiled and said thanks and walked out. Then I got maaaaad drugs the entire time I was there.

One time, my friends even brought me an edible. Can cross "at a hospital as a patient stoned as fuck" off my bucket list ;)

Hahah my heart is not exactly normal but its definitely not electric, I have a battery chillin in my chest with leads connected to my heart just in case shit shits the fan. Different from a pacemaker which gives the heart a very small jolt every few seconds to keep it beating at a normal rate, with these the battery needs to be changed every 5-10 years which requires serious surgery. Hopefully my ICD will never have to do its job and I will forget its even inside me.

not a bad guess on age most people think I'm 18-19 LOL, I want some more guesses before i reveal the truth.

@YeeeBuddy Hello back at ya . . . One of the things I love about vaping cannabis is that I don't have to take pills to regulate my blood pressure. Do you benefit from this as well? Also, do they issue a patient guide or something with that device so you can read about it? Just askin cause the patient info on my biologics will make you laugh and cry at the same time so I'm curious . . . like is it EMP shielded? Can you upgrade the "firm ware" or communicate with the device? How does it affect air travel with the TSA?

Welcome to the thread!!! :)

If I try to stop taking my Lisinopril, my blood pressure shoots through the roof, and I'm only taking a baby dose, 2.5mg. :(

Welcome yeebuddy - awesome to have you on board. Most of us have health issues and concerns, some more serious than others. me for example, I have Parkinson's disease - I was also born with a 2nd brain in my penis, it's caused me problems my whole life.

Next subject - why the fuck is Dreamerr asking to tie Mom up and whip her? Wouldn't a dude want to do that? Unless of course you want that so you can record it for the crew to see?

Mom - I hope your birthday was like a day at FC - full of fun surprises with an occasional WTF! Your an awesome woman, even as a mod you have always brought knowledge, compassion, and your never ending care for this forum. My only quarrel is that we don't get to celebrate our birthdays together. And don't fret, i contacted the goons to make sure they helped you blow out your candles. look what happened at lwiens party - who knew blowing out 107 candles would be so fucking difficult.

I spent a birthday with Paka, but the assisted living community in which he resides threw me out for spiking his apple sauce!

Welcome to the madhouse, @YeeeBuddy - I'm gonna guess your age as 32, and let's hope the next time around, when you get your new battery, you get the upgrade with the charging port that glows blue. Iron Man rides again!

We're all a little special here... it's like the Island of Misfit Toys... and I am their Queen. ;)

Hey, @t-dub what strains are you using to keep your BP down? I'm doing some testing of NYC Diesel, which Leafly says is good for it - the first week, I did have a 10-point drop. I'm also playing with Celery Seed extract and L-Arginine (sp?) - both prescribed by my ND. I am apparently such a contrary person that if we go after my BP too aggressively, it just gets WORSE.

I need to go throw some stew meat in the crockpot with BBQ sauce.

@mvapes I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but every single MALE on the planet has "two" brains, and only enough blood to operate one at a time. However, with PD, you now have a built-in vibrator "for her pleasure"! You could come up with a marketing plan for that, I'm sure. :o

Hey, @t-dub what strains are you using to keep your BP down?
It appears from the medical data that my relief is not strain dependent. If I cease vaping, my BP goes back up in about 2 weeks. When I start vaping, it comes right back down again and stays perfect. Part of the problem is why my BP is high in the first place.

[Begin/story]

So I'm modifying my immune system with this biologic chemo called Remicade. Finally my body has enough drug and rejects it but in doing this I break out in a bleeding rash all over my entire body. No joke, the dermatologist said I was about 2 weeks from death. So she puts me on Gengraf (psyclosporine) a drug for organ transplant recipients, to suppress my immune system before it kills me. Well the whole time I'm taking this drug I can feel my heart pounding in my head for like a year and a half . . it sucked. Well turns out one of the "side effects" is permanent BP increase.

[End/story]

Sooooo, the reason cannabis may be helping me more than others is because of is vasodilation properties and its anti inflammatory properties combined with my current condition and how I got here . . .

Yea i was given a pamphlet after surgery that gave all sorts of details about the device. It said it feels like getting kicked in the chest when it actually goes off :o, but I'd rather be kicked in the chest then kick the bucket LOL. I also have a computer type thing at my house thats connected to the phone line, and every couple months I hold this thing up to chest and it reads info stored in the defib and sends it to my doctor, it gives him all sorts of info on my heart rate etc. For TSA i was given a card that i am supposed to show if i have to go through any metal detectors which i will set off. For the record i am 26 !!

it's weird how similar our stories are, t-dub. I'm on Cimzia (similar to Remicade) for my Crohn's & Ankylosing Spondylitis, and developed what I thought was really bad eczema & psoriasis. (Silver lining: at least I finally got off prednisone?) In some areas it looked like I was bruised badly...finally got to dermatologist a month ago and she's like, "I've never seen skin so dry...." and "...this is caused by exploding blood vessels in the skin!"...and has given me a steroid ointment and HPR Plus to treat it, I follow up with her in 2 weeks. Treatment seems to be helping a little (2x a day application) but if I miss even one application, the rash explodes again. I think I'm going to end up having to find a replacement for Cimzia. Hopefully, I've "anted up" enough with Cimzia (a drug that hasn't really worked for me this entire year), that my doctor and insurance company will let me try something that might actually work...like Humira, which they denied coverage of until I tried Cimzia first (assholes!).

And "modifying" your immune system is a "nice" way of putting it, t-dub. I see it more as "turning off' my immune system, which I don't like. Leaves me susceptible to all sorts of nasty infections (of course, so did long-term prednisone usage). Been on antibiotics forever, too. Ugh. Unfortunately, it's my only option until my intestines can repair themselves to the point that I can maintain proper health through just diet and exercise alone (pharma-free). Hopefully that day comes soon!

p.s. Welcome, @YeeeBuddy !
