It's tough, @deadheadbill , but at least Hospice is a caring place (usually), and you have a little bit of warning. Losing a parent is a difficult transition **hugs**

Ahh Bill... so sorry. I lost my mom to cancer and she was in hospice. It's a weird time. The initial sadness and grief sometimes turns to anger. There's often some guilt mixed in too as you wish for a speedy (or speedier) end. The whole thing sucks.

Just remember to say all the things you need to say and give all the hugs you need to give. And remember to take care of yourself too.

lost my mom day after thanksgiving 3 yrs ago, a week from today will be the anniversary. had the big C. spent the last 3-4 months in hospice. got really lucky that it was an excellent facility. it is an unspeakably surreal and painful thing to experience.

Sorry T-dub for Alex and deadheadbill -it's always hard saying goodbye to a parent, but hospices/palliative care facilities make it easier . I was glad both my parents had that option.
