we are an all kitty house. we had one like that. it lived the rest of it's life outside

My guy is almost 9...no way he is going to survive outside. He is tough, but is too used to his creature comforts. I'd hate to lose him.

He is such a great cat. Miserable as hell to most people, but a big softy with me when I need some love. Every night, he comes and visits me for 20 minutes, purring so loud, it's like a lawnmower. He loves rubbing his nose on my chin stubble, and giving me love bites.

He also once laid next to me, and watched a Hellraiser marathon. A cool cat indeed.

Here's a really good article on inappropriate urination. I just don't agree with the suggestion to give a mild shock:o.

You can deter your cat from peeing on the bed by getting a plastic bed cover at any bedding store. They cost around $7-10 and it's certainly better than having a wet bed. They aren't pretty but it beats the alternative until you try and correct the behavior or treat any medical cause.

If all else fails, Prozac does work well in a lot of cats and it's not very expensive anymore but that would be up to your Vet.

Just got back from the laundromat. Sheeeesch. That was more expensive than I remembered! Fucking SEVEN FUCKING DOLLARS to run a load? (okay... huge front loader, got all the sheets, blankets, and towels in it - probably three normal sized loads. So, okay, that wasn't so bad... but... wait... ) All the laundry, wash & dry, was $14 to do.

I have spent the last ten months, following the "cat whisperer" rules for introducing a new cat, I have three open bin litter boxes, all with multiple ways of approach (yes, this does mean it sits in the middle of a room), and I have startled her when I've caught her peeing elsewhere, multiple times, plus the immediate, thorough cleaning of the spot, and using Feliway (so much I think I smell like it...) and, I'm just done.

I'm gonna do it wrong now. I rubbed her face in her urine, smacked her, and locked her out of the room. Neither cat will have access to the room (and bed) for a week. I've taken their food away, and after I got home, I put down one dish of food for them to share (I'm done with "different dishes, at different levels"), and I'm not coddling them anymore. They get along, and they BEHAVE, or else they are OUT.*

[*I have no clue what I would do, really. I'm not taking them to a shelter. I'm not dumping them in the woods. They won't be out, regardless. I'm just really frustrated]

I am NOT "liking" any kitty pics today.

I'm ready to boot my kitties right out the door... or off the balcony!

Stupid moronic cat PISSED on my bed AGAIN. I'M OUT OF FUCKING BLANKETS. I have to go to the fucking laundromat now. Tonight.
This is typically a sign that the cat is uncomfortable about something. Just a possibility: kitty may not like the location of the litter box for some reason, or the cat litter itself feels annoying to it's paws. Sometimes a change in both location and cat litter will spark re-interest and everyone's happy again. Also, cats can be very sensitive to a change in YOUR mood or routine around the house, and express their anxiety in this way - not only can they be possessive about you, but also possessive about the way you are. When that changes, they feel a loss of their cherished old you. Anyway, the following litter made a huge difference to my troubled kitty...it's really great stuff - easy clumps to scoop, and holds odor really well. Cats like the feel of it on their paws, and like the special odor that keeps them going back. I highly recommend it! It's called Cat Attract: http://www.preciouscat.com/ My neighborhood pet shop orders me the 40 lb. bags.
:luv:Good luck!

EDIT: Your frustration, overt or otherwise, will be sensed by kitty, and actually exacerbate the problem. Calm, caring detective work on your part is the only thing that will give results. Take some time to regroup and bond with her affectionately and playfully. Our pets deserve only the very best, and are usually smarter and more sensitive than we are in many ways. They are our soul mates and loving caring guru's!
