FROLIC by Limelight Herb

I agree. The heat-up times are similar and they're both pure convection. Even the anodized aluminum as one of the materials is in common, although in the Frolic's case it's hard anodized (not sure for the Bowle) and it's the oven. Not sure what the oven in the Bowle is made from.

Both have a nice beefy battery. The form factor of the Frolic is a more portable shape I would say, and you also get full digital temp control instead of 5 presets. Though you could argue 5 presets satisfies most.

That's a cool origin story. I trust your surgery was a success because your brain has allowed you to produce what looks to be a pretty great vape. Your device has had my interest for a while so I'm happy to see it come to fruition. It has a lot of the features I already love in the Bowle 2, with a more portable shape, and it also has a session mode.

I think it has the potential to become my go-to outdoor electric portable but I would need to find some capsules for it. If the AVLP gold plated capsules fit, that would be nice.
Trust me there's nothing cool about tumors

We will offer capsules, as I mentioned earlier, some things were just too much to handle right now. Cheers!

Greetings,

Congratulations on your venture. It seems like the Frolic has lots of thought behind it and you should be very proud. It is also so very nice of you to be here and explain things as you proceed. This is a great supportive community. I wish you all the very best and am looking forward in having one to try out. So far, I think it looks very beautiful.

You are kicking off a brand new vape and that is so exciting! Good luck with everything and don't forget to breathe and also enjoy a good session yourself.

Warm Regards,

DrG
Thanks mate, looking back, you were the one to make this post, thank you for that. And yes, there's something about the vape scene in general, it attracts amazing people for some reason. Fingers crossed!

Not sure how I stumbled on this thread as I do not look usually in this section, but I am glad I did.

Your vape looks super interesting @Dejan LimelightHerb , the design choices and the form factor seem way better than most vapes imho.
Truly love that you hide the screen at the bottom.
I prefer analog vapes, my only true experience with an electronic vape is a Pax plus, and I chose it almost by elimination among a sea of ugly chunky plastic bricks, because I am a design snob. I was tempted by a TM2 for a long while, still do, but yours looks like an improved version in my opinion.

While I admit I am not thrilled by the plastics choice, I do understand the arguments. I think there is a ton of irrationality when people hear «plastic», putting in the same bag totally different materials with very different properties, and it soon becomes «bUt pLaStIc iS bAd» and I am not different :D. Perhaps we should not have ruined the planet by using a magical material to produce a shit ton of cheap useless stuff and and wrap everything but that is another subject…

Curiosity though, I think your design would open the door to different «sleeves» instead of the black part, no? Would Corian, or Micarta, be a possibility in your manufacturing process?

Congratulations on your project, good luck and all the best. Looking forward to see the launch, it allows me a couple days to really decide if I really want to blow that much money, or if I stick with an Omni, a Vapman and a torch like a stoned caveman :D
Oh, you are one of those... Like me! I enjoy aesthetics beyond what would be considered healthy myself so thank you for recognizing this.

The plastic feels decently high end, the textures add to this feel quite a lot but are one of the reasons we are running late since they take a lot of time to do, but worth it.

If you look back on our work, we offered basically unlimited materials for our vape mods. Saying that I love dealing with various materials and hand finishes would be an understatement. With that said, I have decided to continue doing this at a minimum capacity because it heavily relies on me. We will offer wooden and micarta and G10 bodies which you will be able to repackage yourself on the Frolic or get a whole new bespoke device. That's quite a bit away though, I will need a few months to reach that phase.

You are probably good, but the voices do know to be loud

Yeah a non plastic version would be great, I understand it's more difficult and costly but in general I steer clear of plastic vapes 😬

I totally get it. I'm guessing that with it's modularity, there will be glass makers making some 3rd party replacements for some parts. If I get one, I'm possibly going to CAD design something for it that I can CNC out of wood or metal. I don't do glass work, though. I have made custom stuff for most of the vapes I have, but for most, there isn't much you can alter. More like a case, sleeve, funnel, etc., so far anyway.

Well yes and no. Wooden parts which have such a shape which can be milled with a facet of the mill bit are actually much easier to produce with a good finish than plastic. I do understand plastic, no matter how good it is might not be everyone's cup of tea.

I will make wooden, Juma micarta and stabwood bodies at some point definitely.

Indeed, and it usually points to a device which is less able to be maintained by the user and long term maintenance is important to me.

I signed up to the LimelightHerb web site, but the email confirmation process doesn’t seem to work as the sent code always errors that the code is wrong and have tried the resend process over 10 times always resulting in the same error.

I just tested and there was no email confirmation set at all, you might have a cached old version of the website. I will look into the matter nonetheless.
