Friends that hate vapes / Vapor?

EQ might be the 'hide in plain sight' vape.
There's always log vapes!
Tiny, portable-size bowl- but speed and power of a desktop!
I recommend the E-Nano, as it comes with analog temp control
Not to be off topic..:p

It's inconceivable [to me] the amount of people I know; who still prefer smoking- even after fairly regularly using a vape [or 4]...

That might also be the artistic choice too. Pick out your favorite wood grain and design. Small unassuming profile. Place that vape next to your wine glasses.
Still believe my EQ to be the foodie kitchen desktop candidate, though. Runs at low temps. Stable platform. Doubles as a food dehydrator. Has a remote.

Not off topic at all. @Grim Chiclets. The speed factor you mentioned is the biggest complaint of vape haters. And part of the nicotine rush thing that I was mentioning earlier. A small heavy hitter with some artistic options sound like a good option for those who prefer joints over bowls. Run that log vape at the high end and watch them cough to get off. :rofl:As for me, I prefer versatility over a single power vape. If I wasn't worried about VAS creep, my second desktop would be a Log vape or a Cloud EVO that I purchased on Black Friday.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
I typically don't hide my vapes, but do keep a little container of dried peppermint, lavender, or sage around for cover-up if asked by nosy guests or inlaws

As far as friends who don't like vapes, to each their own or live and let live is my moto... I'll use or intro a vape, and if there's interest I'm more than happy to demonstrate, share, answer questions, and/or steer them in the right direction. But, for the die-hards or pigheaded.... life's too short to personally get upset by it and who am 'I' to judge

Not entirely pig-headed of me. But, I never thought I would ever use the cyclone bowl and used to make fun of it. One of my friends would do a Martha Stewart impression while holding the bowl and ramble with all the cliched aromatherapy buzzwords. But I figure lemongrass already smells like lemon pledge. So why not?
Later, I would find out that there is a whole group of herbs that work great in a vaporizer. Now the jokes on me. :D

I try to keep same approach you have when you match any newer idea and to an older mindset. Plus there is those in-between folks, who simply aren't ready for the next thing just yet. Once enough people around them do it, they be more accepting. I just plant enough of a seed for them to ponder. Then they can convert the die-hards and the pigheaded, once it finally dawns on them what I was going on about.:mental:

I have a hard time believing that my non-vapers would appreciate that, although.. I may just implement it. However, I'd need an herb that is either inert or just a pleasure to vape around them to truly "Sell it". I'll tell you that I sure as hell am not going to be picking up some pipe tobacco or nasty tasting herbs. Then again, to a lot of people who don't vape, herb may as well smell like "Exotic Tobacco".

Maybe even pick up a concentrate pad and just keep some more vials of herbal oil or ejuice next to it and call it my "Pipe vape". I'd pack some cotton (Like i use in my e-cigs) in my Sherlock, but even with the primo-organic "Vape grade" cotton I'm not sure I'd like that in my bowl. Maybe as a filter for particulate. I digress.

I suppose if I bought an oil burner (incense-kind) and a few other herbs I could sell to the hater/ those who aren't ready to have the "Its medicine, you were mislead by the government and educational system, in addition to that, here are the 50+ studies I've compiled on its medicinal value" talk.

I like this idea a lot. A lot of these herbs would be cheap as dirt and could help mask the flavor of my kratom tea if I don't actually vape them. And on the plus side, It would make dry herb vapes more acceptable and less taboo.

So, any suggestion on herbs? I'd ask for suppliers but I have a feeling thats against the rules, even if the herbs are legal 50-state or for the most part globally. Any suggestions on specific herbs? Something that won't stink up my vapes with all the wrong flavor, maybe something to just keep loaded in a bowl only to be dumped when I want my preferred herb. I'm not really after any legal buzzes, but if its a calming herb like blue lotus/chamomile then I'd be tempted to try that.

The ethnobotanical thread here at FC has both legal buzzes and calming herbs and aromatherapy.
I have used Lemon Balm, Lemon Grass, Chamomile, and various mints sometimes as a blend. Quite pleasant and can enhance a non-legal buzz or for simple calming. I have settled my stomach vaping these for their medicinal properties. There is several articles out there pertaining to what is considered vapable and at what temps. One example here. http://www.zamnesia.com/content/302-best-legal-herbs-to-vaporize

I own a desktop vape. So I can use different bowls for different herbs and keep the unit from smelling like a mistake happened. These other herbs do require much lower temps to vaporize. Lemon Balm and some mints can be quite strong taste wise. Other herbs might offer a more subtle experience. Chamomile does have full calming effect when vaped. As far as a supplier. I go to my local Co-op. You are buying dried leaves and dried flowers essentially. No liquids or concentrates needed here. No ordering needed online for that. Just scoop and weigh out what I want. There is even a local place that sells localy dried herbs. :rockon:Just bought a blend with apple mint, spearmint and lemon grass. It's taste is amazing as a tea or as a vapor. It is nothing like those E-cigs promises.

But to stay on topic. You can't combust any of these herbs and get the same effects, much less the range of flavors that can be achieved with a vaporizer.
Exhale a cloud of mint around that vape hater and watch their response. That might be just enough to entice them.

There will be zero combustion. My current vape is my new bronze sherlock VG, and I've been using VG's long enough to know my techniques for low/medium/high temp vaporizing. I also keep my PAX in rotation for stealth sessions.

I'll give some mint a try or something, both fresh and home dried.

Please, don't try fresh mint in the PAX!. I made that mistake already. Only dried in the PAX. Too much water and oil is released at once and can clog things up. Let me know how the VG (vapor Genie) works out. Since you trying an off-the-grid vape with the mint.
The mint will release it's oils at a much lower temp than MJ. But dried is generally better all around for vaporizing. Let that fresh mint dry out, then use it.

I know it's off topic but had to say this. People take the piss when they hear it, but fresh catnip flowers actually smell and taste amazing and have a calming effect. Don't get the shitty off cuts that look like dried oregano. Get organic catnip bud. You'll be very surprised. Looks a lot like cannabis buds and smells minty with a lemony twist! Bring on the cat jokes....I'll beat you to it. Meooow!

Yeowww__buds.jpg

This is the stuff I tried. Although I don't think this company sells it in this form anymore.

I've found that the felt effects differ somewhat from vape to vape. The experience is a whole lot different shen comparing smoking to vaping. Moving past the ritual of rolling, lighting and passing, which is a part of the preference, the other side of the coin is familiarity. Usually smokers don't recognize the high of the vape as they are so used to the hazy couchlock. Once a smoker tried my desktop successively, as he claimed he was not feeling it, until he did, but in quite a paranoid manner :p
Vaping gives a certain psychedelic edge to cannabis which many may have not noticed when smoking, especially the loe temperature extracts. Coupled with the less thick smoke and clouds, some are hesitant to go past trying into using.

I think part of the problem is less visible exhaled stuff. Once they realize a whole bunch of what they exhale is just smoke (smoke is not nice either) and once it hits them they seem to latch on if they realize that simple fact that smoke is thicker. A few of my vapes seem to deliver even more active meds per pull than smoking. I smoked around a 1.75 gram blunt with my neighbor a while back and it barely got me lifted at all. Just felt like vaping around .25 grams of herb at best. Such a waste. I guess it could have been trim though. There is no need to inhale smoke if you can inhale vapor.

My husband just doesn't get why I want to vape. I have a hard time with a pipe or a joint. I was never a tobacco smoker, like he was, and I have never smoked a lot of herb, either. I am mostly using herb for pain and sleep but I don't mind a bit of a buzz now and then either.
For some reason, he has a thing about buying oil? I don't get it. I already buy flower (for awhile. We are going to grow some soon, but we're in the middle of moving right now) so it's just asking for something different at the dispensary, right? What the diff?
He's kind of funny sometimes, but I guess I'll keep him.

I just started vaping. I started to move away fro. Smoking tobacco and use less herb.
at this point I have no intention on giving up combusting I just really want to get off the tobacco as when I started smoking my group of feiends didn't use tobacco over time we all mainly smoked joints would all rip bongs and vapes also pipes as we all got older most including me used more tobacco and less herb some friends stopped and one that did stop tobacco then stopped combusting then stopped anything now smokes joints again I've moved away now so am trying to get away from joints so when I visit next I hope to be off tobacco and ill be pushing the vapes on em wish me luck

edit best thing about vaping it doesn't stink so can do it inside when kids in bed no more out in the cold

I thought I'd replied here but I don't see it. My husband doesn't know what vaping is/was, and when I tried to explain it to him, he didn't believe it, lol. I vape ejuice in a Pico and he swears I am being suckered and it's just smoke. He doesn't like it, but I have to have something for pain and sleep and I refuse to get hooked on Tramadol and/or Codeine, so he'll just have to deal with it.

In Finland, you can vape freely because no one knows what is vaping. And if they see you vaping, they probably think that you either drink from a juice box (Mighty looks like a juice box) or they think that you "smoke" e-cigarettes. Only the smell might get you busted. Thus, here people really do not care unless you are blowing vape clouds onto their faces...

I dont know anyone who hates it. i do know a few who dont want to drop any kind of money on a vape and would rather keep burning just because of finances. I tell them i spent $170 on mine and they look at me like im crazy, then i look at them like theyre crazy. they spend hundreds a year on weed and then act like a $150 portable vaporizer is astronomical, ignorant to the part where you consume less herb thru vaping and end up breaking even at some point.

I've had my solo for almost a year...while most people thought it was ok and easy to use, there wasn't much excitement over it.

I bought a Pax about 3 weeks ago and converted everyone who has used it. We call it the eBlunt. My friends are generally hardcore combusters...so I think the particular vape used makes a difference
thats odd because the Solos vapor quality is either equal to or better than the pax.
