Hoping someone has some product advice that will help me.

My mother lives in Ormond Beach FL and recently received her med card. She's in need of edible and/or tincture products that promote sleeping through the night. She's very new to cannabis, and is struggling to understand what will likely work best for her.

Unfortunately I live across the country and my "expertise" is in flower, with much different effects. I can offer general information, but without being able to go to local dispensaries with her I'm limited.

Anyone able to recommend product(s) that are available in her area? I believe Trulieve and Cureleaf have locations near her. Thank you in advance!

[Edit] She's currently using a Muv RSO tincture (Ice Cream Gelato) that works okay, but looking for something sleepier and longer lasting if possible.

IMO....Edibles and tinctures for someone new to cannabis require a trial and error approach to figuring out what amounts will work without going too far. For example....My wife and I can consume a standard edible package by splitting the pack down the middle and taking it all in one shot. A standard pack of edible gummies contains 100mg in either a 5mg gummy (20 per pack) or a 10mg gummy (10 per pack). My oldest daughter on the other hand can't take a full 10mg gummy without having a bad experience so we're slowly looking for her sweet spot which at the moment is 5mg at a time.

We've also tried tinctures and IMO tinctures are more dependable than edibles and are faster to the bloodstream. Edibles are affected by what they're eaten with and things like adding something with a fat content is a helper and other factors like metabolism can also affect things.

Chocolate bar edibles for some reason upset our stomach so we steer clear of the chocolate bar stuff.

Because of how different people experience different results I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending anything but I do have a suggestion....the MUV in Ormond Beach's web site has a link to scheduling a "Virtual Consultation" with their Patient Care team that will provide 1 on 1 guidance, product demos and will review the patients MMUR profile. https://muvfl.as.me/schedule.php

Responding to your questions:
- Unfortunately no one will be with her while she experiments.
- She's tried distillate THC carts a few times, and dry herb through my TM2 once or twice when visiting a few weeks ago.
- She's not really looking to get high, just relax, lower anxiety and get better/more sleep. She's used prescription medication for sleep but doesn't like the addictive nature.

I have recommended trying "indica" leaning, 1:1 gummies to help reduce the high effects but keep the sedation and calming qualities.

- Unfortunately no one will be with her while she experiments.
- She's tried distillate THC carts a few times, and dry herb through my TM2 once or twice when visiting a few weeks ago.
- She's not really looking to get high, just relax, lower anxiety and get better/more sleep. She's used prescription medication for sleep but doesn't like the addictive nature.

I have recommended trying "indica" leaning, 1:1 gummies to help reduce the high effects but keep the sedation and calming qualities.

The bud-tender can then use their experience and what they've heard from customer experience with those questions and would have the opportunity to do some additional homework before they meet up if needed. What we're talking about here is pretty common so they should have some experience with them or know who does. Unfortunately you don't always get a super knowledgeable bud-tender with a walk-in.

All I know about the edibles at our dispensary's is that if you want longer lasting, go with the oil based edibles like cookies, brownies, and the like. The sugar based ones I've heard may come on a little faster but don't last as long (gummies, etc).

Been sick since Tuesday with the ol' Covid unfortunately. Ended up giving it to my girlfriend and she showed symptoms on Friday, right before her big Christmas party she hosts each year which of course we cancelled. Thankfully we tested prior to it.

I haven't been able to vape any flower as I just know how dry it feels when I'm sick. I've been using concentrates very lightly instead, but I really should've picked up some edibles.

Her symptoms are still going strong and she hasn't been able to get out of bed or off the couch.

Thankfully because of all the recent deals, I was plenty stocked up. I had a few grams of concentrates and that recent quarter pickup of flower which I've barely touched.

How do you guys usually handle cannabis when sick? It's not necessarily the inhale that's rough, but exhaling vapor is brutal.
