Crazy good price for only a half gram. Half grams are usually upcharged. This comes out to $45/g for rosin (which would really be 40/g if they offered a full gram).

I normally don't highlight 8ths that don't have a THC% in the upper teens or more AND are $20 or less an 8th. But Queso Perro needed to be an exception. Been tracking that strain from GH for a long while and it rarely goes below $30.

Bubble Hash prices are trending around the same as Rosin so I wonder if its similarly good. Anyone tried Bubble Hash from a dispo?

I don't believe I've ever had straight bubble hash. That's what they use to make hash/live rosin though. I imagine it's technically clean enough to dab, but the stuff that's been pressed into rosin is gonna be cleaner. I'd try it only if it's significantly cheaper than the rosin option.

Maybe it’s more for people who prefer to smoke hash or top off bowls. If I visit HT for some rosin sometime I’ll try to get more details.

-Fresh Pressed Live Rosin (difference??)
-Solventless Preserves (what other form of solventless is there other than Rosin)?
-Bubble Hash

Any idea the difference between just Live Rosin and Fresh Pressed? (read further down for answer, leaving question for train of thought)

Upon reading, Preserves is another name for "jam" which is what SunnySide has I believe.
A comparison on Reddit shows SS Jam is higher quality than HT Preserves.

What about Trulieve "Sauce" and "meringue"

Ok, more reading shows "Fresh Pressed" means the oil goes directly from the press to the jar. This can create a "shatter" like consistency with no curing.
"Live Rosin" w/o the "fresh pressed" means the oil is "cured" to get that buddery like consistency (which is my preference).

Bleh...

Seems no real industry standard for some of these different consistencies.

I saw HT has "Baller Bucket" eighths of Rosin for a discounted $122. Comes to less than $35/g for Rosin.

You're right, there's no consistency on naming conventions.

My understanding is "Fresh Press" goes right from the rosin press into the jar for sale. Maybe the non-fresh press Live Rosin is cured for some time. I believe most of the stuff being sold is cured so that it's more of a sauce/badder consistency.

Honestly this is all way too concentrate nerd for me personally. I'm sure there are intricate differences in taste real hash heads can taste. To me, as long as it's solventless I'm happy.

What I would like to see is more CURED concentrate instead of only LIVE stuff. Cannabis flower is always cured/aged a bit. No one is smoking/vaping flower fresh off the vine. IMO cured concentrates taste more like flower. Live shit tastes good, but sometimes it's almost too good, almost candy-like.

Reading the recent posts trying to classify the type of concentrate has my head spinning and I haven't even got my happy on yet.

Doing the sales list is a form of passive learning for me and has the potential of throwing me off in certain cases. When I try to capture a sale I select "concentrates" and then sort by lowest price. When I get to the "Rosin" price point there are multiple concentrate types with similar pricing like Rosin such as Bubble Hash and if I remember correctly, Preserves. My feeble frame of reference after weeks/months of this becomes .... Rosin and Bubble Hash is in the same pricing category so when Bubble Hash is $55 a gram my thought process is .... Rosin at $55 is a highlight-able sale so Bubble Hash at $55 is as well since the dispo is pricing them the same. Going to be hard to keep me honest :lol:

I've only gotten this with "Muse" line from Trulieve, especially with their orange strains tasting too much like orange candy and not enough like mango flower. This "candy flavor" was actually described to me by HT and that they try to avoid it. He specifically said "this strain is more of an orange-y flavor, but not that candy orange flavor you get from other concentrates in Florida".

However, that strong of a flavor is what helped me to hone in on my concentrate vapes and realize they could put out way more flavor than I thought, and my technique was wrong.

I always thought that flavor was terpenes being artificially put back into the concentrate making this flavor, but I have no basis in that. Just a thought.

I don't think I've experienced that candy-like flavor with other Live concentrates, but maybe I'm just not looking for the right smells and you'd maybe be able to easily identify it in my recent concentrates as well.

Ya I agree, mostly just something for me to obsess over when I need something to peruse. Variables kill me. Talking it out helps organize it for me. Unfortunately (fortunately) my only friend knowledgeable in concentrates stopped consuming, and right as Florida started to get some of the fun goodies. So I force it on you guys instead

It doesn't help that each dispensary has outrageous variances in quality and pricing. Rosin from HT at $40 discounted often, or Rosin from SS at $90 standard.
I think for most people realistically, it goes dispensary by dispensary.

If HT was having a discount of $40 rosin, but Sunnyside dropped their top tier Rosin from $90 to $60 in a discount, I bet the SS at $60 would get more recognition from people and would blow up reddit.

People are very partial to their dispensaries with concentrates; their flavors/extraction, their strains, consistencies, etc. I think more so than flower.

You are doing fantastic, I haven't second guessed any of your deals. This is a learning process for all of us. We're thrown into a huge world of products, with barely any direction from the doctors, the state, or the dispensaries themselves.

I feel so bad for anyone who is brand new to cannabis and walks into a dispensary. I just feel their anxiety.
I would love for Florida to start a noobs program and just hold classes to help get people familiar with the world of cannabis.

I think we just start somewhere, which we already have, and as we notice more deals, price drops, what stands out, etc. and make more and more notes, things will fall into place and we adjust.

When someone comments about a deal repeatedly, you just start to get an idea of if it's a good one or not. Or someone mentioning those Tikkun midnight carts, which I would've never known about. We look at curaleaf, and at this point, just know their deals aren't anything to get excited about.

I think it's just an ongoing process and there isn't an absolute or objective number that we can stick with. $60 rosin (Jam?) from sunnyside is a solid deal to many. $60 from HT isn't :shrug:

Unfortunately (fortunately) my only friend knowledgeable in concentrates stopped consuming, and right as Florida started to get some of the fun goodies. So I force it on you guys instead

It doesn't help that each dispensary has outrageous variances in quality and pricing. Rosin from HT at $40 discounted often, or Rosin from SS at $90 standard.
I think for most people realistically, it goes dispensary by dispensary.

If HT was having a discount of $40 rosin, but Sunnyside dropped their top tier Rosin from $90 to $60 in a discount, I bet the SS at $60 would get more recognition from people and would blow up reddit.

People are very partial to their dispensaries with concentrates; their flavors/extraction, their strains, consistencies, etc. I think more so than flower.

There are times where I do deviate from the rules we're defining due to past experience .... for example, I don't highlight Curaleaf or VidaCann flower unless they're giving it away because it totally sucked when I sampled a bunch of it but the same flower price at Trulieve, Surterra, MUV, etc. would get highlighted. I'm definitely open to changing my view on Curaleaf and VidaCann flower if someone pointed out a good flower experience. Unitl then .... I'm not buying their flower or recommending their flower. Maybe in the future we'll have the same knowledge and approach with concentrates.

Never heard of Cookies or MedMen. Maybe its because I'm in North Florida. I'd also have to defer to others on which dispo in the south has the highest quality. I have found that the best quality is not set in stone from one day to the next depending on batches coming in. I am currently steering clear of VidaCann and Curaleaf flower after a bad sampling but I'm also open to changing my view if someone gets some decent flower from them that is competitively priced.

I would have said "The Flowery" has the best quality based on the one and only time I've sampled them but I recently treated myself to a $58 Trulieve 8th on sale which was some of the best I'd had in awhile. Then a miracle happened where I bought some Trulieve "Roll One $20" when it was first announced and it kicked ass. Each dispo has their Fire Strain - GrowHealthy has Queso Perro, Rise has Animal Face, etc.

Test results are a debatable topic but I personally like to use the red highlighted items on the sales list and then check their test results for batch date, THC% and CBD% - its getting more and more common to find $15 to $20 8ths where the THC% is above 18 the CBD% is upwards of 2 and the batch date is within a month or two - when I'm looking to purchase and I find this trifecta for me its YAHTZEE!

I'm always updating the sales list so I'll take a look at "Cookies and Medmen" for an addtion. Anyone else want to suggest another dispo?
