Hey Vape Dr. thanks for all the info.

How is the size? Because looking at the pictures I get the idea it's pretty big, wich portable vaporizer or familiar item compares in size with the vapormax V?

I think davinci is similar in size based on the videos :)
60mm*22*mm*106mm(vmax) vs 5.8*2.5*10.2mm (davinci)

It's exactly 4 1/16" tall x 2 5/16" wide x 13/16" deep
Or 103.188mm tall x 52.3875mm wide x 20.6375mm deep

Smaller the original davinci, but very comparable, close though without the whip. The DaVinci feels a lot thicker for some reason.

Hey guys I've got some good news and some bad news. Good news is my package has been received and signed for. Bad news I wasn't there to do the signing as had already left the office for the day. I took a gamble that office was going to be better than home as the courier service they use requires a signature. Honestly though that is pretty great. For $60 I ordered and received a vaporizer the next day. Alright, alright, alright.

For anyone interested here is the link to the seller I used;
http://www.dhgate.com/product/1pc-lot-new-vaporization-flowermate-vapormax/185607596.html#ctabBox

Mods I hope it is okay for me to be posting that link. This is not a counterfeit product so I see this as no different to posting a link to buy any other kind of product shared on FC.

I'm yet to open my package but based on communication skills and them actually doing exactly what they said, I highly recommed this seller. Testing to do before getting carried away but this is very promising. If you look at @Vape Dr. 's signature you can see he is an experienced vaporist. I'm very confident this is going to be a nice little surprise :)

If it is as vape dr. describes, then this unit is mostly conduction with some convection and radiation mixed in. The PNP was billed as a convection vape because it had a heating element below the bullet chamber, but the reality was that the heating element wasn't powerful enough to handle a decent draw speed. The result was less convection than desired and a lot more conduction through the heated walls of the bullet chamber. After sitting for a little bit and heating the walls the radiation effects start to kick in.

I would imagine this unit to be very similar, with even less convection going on than the PNP. No matter what anyone says, the proof is in the pudding, and it all comes down to how the vape performs with different draw speeds. If it gets overwhelmed easily and hits better with little puffs spaced out, then it is mostly a conduction vape. A true convection vape excels at heating the air before it gets to the herb without heating up the chamber as well.

@Vape Dr. -- when you take one apart, I would pay special attention to the construction of the heating element (if there is one below the chamber) and the air path after being heated. How much, if any, plastic is in the heated air path?

This is old heating technology and is very simple. Since the Pax was a monster hit there will be many conduction knock offs of different shapes, sizes and quality. It shouldn't cost much at all to connect batteries to the walls of an herb chamber and put a mouthpiece on it. I envision gas station vapes with the lighters and such that are less than $75 and vape by conduction. Most of these will suck, but a couple will get it right and become cult hits. Hopefully this is one of the hits. The price certainly is right on point. The only things I would concern myself with on a vape like this is cost, form, battery and air path. If it looks cool to you and the price is right, then all you need to know is that the battery will last and that the materials involved won't hurt you. When Vape Dr. takes his apart we can get someone in here (@CentiZen ) who knows batteries to tell us if they are worth a shit. We will also know what is in the air path to see if it is safe. I'm pretty stoked to see that we may already have a legitimate cheapo portable for introducing vaporization to the masses. Why pay $200+ for the same heating technology?

I am considering this the BIC lighters of portable vaporizers. It's cheap, works great, you can throw it away and buy a new one when it dies!
@stickstones you are probably correct in it being more conduction than convection, the only time the heat would be transferring "through" the herb is when you are drawing air when inhaling it.
The important thing is it works, it's convenient, and cheap enough for first timers to afford and not be pissed at the money they spent.
The price went up $7 in 2 Weeks so they must be flying of the shelf!
I am looking forward to other members thoughts and opinions on this unit very much.

IMO Radiant heat is mostly what is going on w/ most of these battery powered portables, and conduction only where the herb is actually touching the heated walls.. IMO it seems that there is such a small amount of convection going on in most of these that it's hard to say how little, and almost not even worth mentioning.. Anything w/ an herb "oven" is vaping w/ mostly radiant heat IMO.. Radiant heat works great for vapor production and thorough extraction, but it's not convection.. The way I look at it is, Conduction is like cooking on a skillet, Convection is like cooking w/ a hot air flow, and radiant heat is like baking inside of an oven..

As for this vape, If you were able to fully vape herb that was sitting just Outside of the heat zone, then I would call it convection.. but IMO battery powered portables do best by using radiant heat, especially the ones w/ good battery life.. IMO you have a ratio of these 3 aspects, and different ratios seem to give different effects, and it seems to play into that "vape signature" thing.

Very well put @Buildozer. Thank you for the post. With that logic (being most logical) I would have to call it a conduction with (very slight) convection, (but only as your drawing from it, because of the air holes on the bottom of the chamber).
But since the vapor temperature never gets overly hot, the "convection" side would be very minimal.
So as per input from the very informative FC crew, I would consider it a conduction vaporizer that has slight characteristics of a convection, but very minimal.
That is why I compared it to the PnP. It basically works the same way without the use of bullets.
With that being cleared up (I sincerely thank all of you for your input), it has been a wonderful, inexpensive, portable conduction vaporizer.

.....But since the vapor temperature never gets overly hot, the "convection" side would be very minimal.....
IMO I imagine the convection would probably be negligible, if even hot enough to do anything..
The reason I see it that way is because the walls of the chamber are only a certain temp, so how is it possible to get the incoming air to get even almost as hot as that, in the short time it's exposed to the those temps during the draw?? Especially when the temperature of that isn't hot enough to even cause charring or combustion.. Yeah, air is flowing by the herb, and the air is even being heated up minimally, but IMO not up to usable vaping temps.. The herb is packed into a hot environment that encourages vaporization, the air just seems to be a means of transporting the vapor in this case IMO.. That's why it helps when you give it a sec between hits to let the oven temp build back up a little, and also why you have to keep hitting it unless you want it to vape your herb w/o you... Since the herb has to be inside of the heat zone, or oven, to vape, makes me feel that it's not a matter of convection..

I agree, it seems like a great deal.. It seems like it works well too.. Have you tried to rig it up to a bubbler yet? I would love to see a milk shot..

I'm sitting here looking at mine right now. Very interesting. It is very solid. It isn't all that small either. Its pocketable but the width is more like 2 Pax together. I have pre-ground .2 Tangerine Dream to try at lunch time. Unfortunately I don't have an adapter to charge it. Fortunately it seems pre-charged so I will give it a go anyway. Will report back later.

Oh and by the way, with the seller I mentioned earlier I was also getting the can't ship to my location message. We just did it privately through Paypal. No problem.

@Buildozer
Yes sir, I already agreed with you.
We will call it a combustion vaporizer.
I feel like I hit a nerve and apologize for that.
I'm not trying to make something out to be something its not.
I did a review on this vaporizer as a guinea pig for fellow FCrs hoping this might be a good entry level vaporizer for newbies. In doing my review I tried to be as thorough as possible, I felt an obligation to state all the facts including the bottom of the chamber had holes in it and a screen above (convection type properties). I was just trying to be thorough.
Hopefully others that purchased the unit will post and you can compare their reviews as well!

@Buildozer No Sir I have not hooked up a bubbler, but the F-bomb fits and hits like a champ! I will however be trying that this weekend (I'm running this vape through its courses to test battery life and unit longevity, so far so good) I'll be sure to let you know how it is with a bubbler!
Thanks for taking the time to read my review and posts, and give me your in depth honest feedback of my review, that's what I'm looking for! I'm always looking for honest feedback!
You can never be too informed.

@Mr. Gweilo 420 I am looking forward to your synopsis of this vaporizer!

Nah man, you didn't strike any nerve.. Sorry if it felt that way.. It had nothing to do w/ you personally.. It's just that it's all too common to hear a portable like that one touted as a convection portable.. It's just something that has been on my mind for a little while, and this was just an opportunity to talk about it a little bit.. No need to agree w/ me, or call it a "combustion vape??".. What I said before^^ is just the way it looks to me, regarding most of the battery powered "convection" vapes I have used.. I am no scientist though.. This is just speculation based on my personal experience and observations, and some discussions I've had.. I don't really know what I am talking about anyways, or I would have started a thread.. Just an IMO type thing.. I feel like This is a dialogue worth having at some point; it can wait though.. It just seemed like a good time to bring it up a little, since others seemed to be hinting at the same thing before I jumped in.. I would really like to hear some thoughts from some one who really knows about this type of thing.. If anybody does, it would be worth starting the thread IMO, since I really don't know what I'm talking about.. I probably forgot to mention that, :D but I was forced to use a lot of IMO's haha.. More than I have in quite some time.

Psych
Can you tell if there is constant vapor production when idle like with most conduction vapes? Does the vapor come out in small puffs or in streams like convection vapes? I can only find it on ebay for 90 is it worth that?

No worries, I'm always one to listen to others advice. Better listen and learn, than learning the hard way! I'm grateful for you input and interest in my posts. I know plenty enough about all different vaporizers (I'm a little obsessed), but I will never turn down advice or knowledge. That is the only way to learn more. I never have nor will claim to know everything about vaporizers, but I do know plenty enough to be dangerous!:evil:That's for sure.
I love learning so I will never be offended if someone has a difference of opinion than me.
Hopefully, someone will chime in and give us both some knowledge on this vape neither of us knew/knows!!

You're in my boat, wait for a break down of the thing to see whats in it, how pure the pathway is, etc...

Sorry for the short post guys. I was on the go and in the middle of a session :)

First thing I just want to say that I pretty much agree with everything that Vape.Dr has said. These are my initial thoughts only based on using it once.

Flavour - nice. I've been using my E-Nano pretty exclusively for the past month (with a bubbler) and I was satisfied with the flavor. It didn't diminish much at all from start to finish either. I used .2 Tangerine Dream and I could absolutely enjoy the taste profile of the strain.
Vapor Production - don't try to compare it to a desktop or similar. However, the vapor production is most satisfactory. It is cool and comparable to a Pax. Definitely some nice little clouds.
Effects: I am nicely medicated but not overly so.
Do I need to remind you all that I paid $60 for this? This is a no-brainer. Go and buy it now before the price goes up. I would not compare it to a Solo necessarily but I would compare it to a Pax. Based on the fact that it looks unlikely to require much cleaning I say it beats the $250 Pax in my very humble opinion.

I don't know what else to say really that has not already been said but if I can answer any questions please ask :)

Edit: Sorry almost forgot - that is my spent AVB. Many hits (lost count) and not even a hint of combustion. I would say it is impossible to reach combustion with this vaporizer.
