Firewood Vaporizer

I just got my Firewood 3 today. It's on the charger right now. I'm looking at the actual practical portability of it and it seems like it needs a few things....

Caps for the mouthpiece/capsule.

I've seen a AA battery case suggested and lip balm cap. Any other ideas or things you use to hold the mouthpiece/capsule while fully loaded as a spare?

Also, a case for the Firewood seems like a good idea. Preferably something that keeps the odor in. I have seen a funkfighter pocket bag but not sure if it is big enough? Anyone have this? http://www.funkfighterbags.com/pocket.html
I saw it suggested to use the 7" Dime Bags pouch and they look nice but don't appear to help with odor?

Any other suggestions for cases and caps that are easily obtained?

I'd like to take this thing around with me and stay as discreet as possible. Thanks!

As for the caps try looking for he arizer Air stem caps. Fit perfectly!

Awww no caps for carrying around???? I was hopping for true portability like the haze 3
No top cap but there is a double screen that will keep the vast majority in. I mean it's not going to all spill out.

it has caps to carry around... look at the mouthpiece
The mouthpiece has a double screen but no cap. A cap ensures that the material stays in. A cap helps keep things like dirt and lint from getting into the mouthpiece as well as helping to block some odor.

I tried out the Firewood last night and this morning. Pretty cool. It's really good for micro-dosing. Doesn't hit as hard as the Nano so far but it took me several tries to dial in the E-Nano so it will probably be the same for the Firewood. I'm digging it so far!

Do you have to set the temp every time you turn it on? I thought it would remember the last setting but just now, the Firewood kept shutting off after I did the first quick draw to start the heater. After doing this a few times, I set the the temp level before the quick draw and it worked fine....

Just received my new microbubblers from Fasttech. Decided to go for the bulbier ones as they're able to hold more water. Haven't tried 'em out yet - but thought I'd share some pics :)
All in all about 8$ or something, shipping included.
Just attach it to the mp with some short piece of silicone tube and there you go. :)

Hope everyone is enjoying their woods :D
:peace:

Finally ordered a walnut, after almost a month of deliberation. Thought I'd ask a question now that's been bugging me. I know you have to set the temperature each time you turn it on, but I was wondering if you also have to enter the 8 click/5 click temperature shift each time you turn the device on? (assuming you want shifted temp, most people seem to)

I'm officially a Delighted FW3 Owner.

I wasn't even expecting it till the 22nd, so I was ecstatic to see the package in my mailbox.

@PuffItUp and @PlanetVape .. And I think @VaporNation all carry caps for the Arizer Solo and Air stems...
These happen to fit the mouthpiece perfectly. Battery caps fit well also (MFLB)

Did you happen to get the Mouthpiece Caddy?
It's really nice to have that addition, holds two extra mouthpieces with capsule attached.

So far, I'm loving the FW3!!

Love
the simplicity and how stealthy this Vaporizer is, easily passes as a box mod.

Love the form factor, smaller than most phones nowadays.
Got a lot more testing to do before I can give a proper review.

As for now, getting great taste, decent clouds, that are slowly getting bigger and bigger as I dial in the correct draw speed.

No annoying lights, I'm really impressed so far.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks now, and still feels like the "honey moon phase."

I can put a little pinch in a cuplsule and set it to 3-4 and kill it in 3-4 hits and get very medicated.
Still hard for me to finish a fully packed capsule because I'm feeling crazy medicated about halfway through. So I save the rest and get about 5-7 hits later on when I come back to it.

Generally staying on the 3rd temp range and 4th to finish. Sometimes will vape on 2 for flavor (and still procuces nice clouds for me.)
Another thing I love is that I can absolutely rip this thing. Once the heater is glowing you can pretty much rip it really hard and the heater will keep up with you. Something I can't really do with my other vapes.

I vaped the other night with my arizer air and really it's no comparison for me. Will be using this thing for my daily driver.
Best portable I've tried to date.

I'd try to get used to the stock setting TBH. I had no need at all to change these settings - you can regulate heat by changing draw speed, doing a primer, take a longer draw etc. with pretty dry material I even managed to char on 2! personally, I never go higher than 3, even with a bubbler... To me it's all about draw speed and I think Marc has adjusted this thing pretty perfectly. Just my 2c

Space is the Place
I know I could only get a few light hits on 4 before the instructions for raising the temp were posted and had mine packed up to send back to Marc, since then the FW is an awesome vapor producing Beast on all four temp settings.

Gonna post you my adapter's specs - Marc sent me a fitting one, I'd thought I'd need to get an adapter... But he's a smart and caring guy and put it in.

Input:
AC 100~240V 0.15A
47~63 Hz

Output:
DC 0.4A 9.5V
for 3-5 NiMH cells

Have a great weekend everyone!

I got a plug from marc with my fw3
input ac 100-240 V
outputdc 400mA

so am I right as the specs say input 100-240 V that I do not have to use a converter from 110V to 240V
but only an adapter fot the different plugs from us and eu
input ac 100-240 VP
input ac 100-240 V
input ac 100-240 V

@perennialflare , Once you do the Overdrive thing you don't have to reset it each time.

Though I had a rocky start with it I'm lovin' my FW3 enough that it's my daily driver these days.

thanks, good to know!

I plan to, but from the sheer volume of people who shift the temperature range at least a couple notches, I assumed that after I've gotten the hang of things, it's likely I'd want to try experimenting with higher temps. This is going to be my first vape, so I don't really know what my temperature preferences will be. I do know that it will probably take a fair few attempts to figure out what I'm doing (heck, the only vape I've ever tried so far was the pax2 and even that took me a good 4 or so puffs to figure it out) and it makes the most sense to stick with stock temps as I'm learning.

Yep. You should be good to go with just a plug adapter.

thanks, good to know!

Yeah, pax2 is a different animal. It's conduction and constantly cooking at a certain pre set temp. The fw3 is convection and has a target temp range, which is determined by various factors. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. Try, learn, enjoy - if necessary, adjust. :)

@Spocks_Katra : what happened to your device?

heho!

not long after i got the unit i got sick of the capsule system and the inability to pack a new load in the hot capsule...

i took out the bottom screen of the capsule and placed a fitting screen within the firewood above the heater (you can get it out again but its not the easiest task). now i load the capsule by sucking up herb or pushing it into some ground material, similar to a solo/air stem.

i have never to touch the capsule itself again. the herbs stay in the capsule when upside down,no problem, worst case they fall onto the screen above the heater and get suckedinto the capsule at the next hit.

i highly recommend this method!

the dark thing in the first pic is a ultra fine ss mesh screen i added to the mouthpiece

Thanks! I certainly plan to! I don't combust often to begin with, so even if it takes time to get where I want, it's not like I'll be itching to give up and grab my pipe instead. I just mentioned the pax 2 because it's a very very simple operation and yet I still took some time to learn how to actually get vapour (in my defense though, I was warned it was in extreme cleaning need, and I did manage to enjoy long draws and decent sized clouds at the end)

Looking forward to becoming very acquainted with my Firewood soon, at any rate!

Also, is there anyone watching this thread from Canada who has a FW? I'm wondering how likely it is for this to get taxed at the border (should be no duty since it's American made, but legally it should be charged HST at the border I think? But I've also heard these things slip through without being taxed.) I'm fully preparing myself to endure the HST, just wondering if there's some hope to get out of it.

Has anyone found a charging solution for a car? I noticed that Marc said 5v would work so what about something like this?

I was thinking about taking it camping for a week... Looking for practical solutions to charging without having to swap out batteries.

I love the microbubbler on the right! Can I get a link to it on fasttech?

Also, I took my FW3 on a field test around Boston last night, and I loved it! It worked great! I'll post again later with all the photos and detailed results though.
