Yes sir...
Is it ok to use it plugged in with batteries removed? And what about a battery pack? Is that ok with batteries inserted or removed? Thanks in advance.Do

Seriously it will cause problems. It was addressed earlier in the thread it will impact your batteries and possibly the Firewood Adversely.

Thank you very much for the information miss. Carrotwarrior was the sir I was referring to however..Ma'am actually. Though at my age Miss is perhaps more appropriate.
Anyway to address your questions, I don't believe it's possible for the device to operate without the batteries in the unit. So that means never while plugged in as its either impossible or bad for the batteries depending.
For the battery pack likewise it's impossible to use the Firewood without batteries iirc. And something about how battery packs work make it so that it's not bad for the batteries to use a battery pack.
I hope this was intelligible enough. I just had my evening Indica before bed and I'm really close to sleeping.
I blame my misreading on the Firewood for getting me so well medicated on the way to bedThank you very much for the information miss. Carrotwarrior was the sir I was referring to however..
so ive been warming up to my firewood after using it a bit more, as I wasnt impressed when I first received it, I currently have it bumped up +2 and vape at level 2 and 3, does anyone have any helpful draw tips or tips on cooling the air as well? I find my hits are a little underwhelming, and when I do get a good one, the heat burns my throat, looking to see if anyone has found a fix to this.
Also saw a post using an eds tnt stem, Im thinking about doing that as well
how are you guys hitting your FW3?
also wanted to mention a small problem I had with mine, I pressed the bottom button without it being on and it starting vibrating really loudly for 5 or so secs, but I turned it on and off a few times and it seems to be fixed
The batteries have a more effective discharge rate the more charged they are. That means the heater will be relatively hotter toward the beginning of your battery life. Iirc this type of battery doesn't like being run down all the way and the FW actually shuts off automatically before the batteries get critically low. For both of these reason I try to put it on the charger after I've used it. Ymmv and if you go back in this thread a bit people were discussing battery hygiene earlier and most of what I'm telling you is based on my memory of reading that. Going directly to the source is always a good idea in researchGot mine!! Came late but looks wonderful!
Question time!
Should you use it till dead and then charge, or is charging before dead and more often better for these batteries?
First test on setting 3 I could not see the coil glowing, setting 4 I seen it glow for a second...
Took a few slow even draws on heat setting 4, got a little vapor but mostly hot air it seemed. Bumped it up to heat hack 4 and got similar results... Bumped it up to heat hack 7 and got some nice hits and finally got some dark ABV.... Most importantly I was feeling wonderful.
Even with the slowest draw there was no chance of combustion. But at this level I'm able to get some great hits. More experimenting will be done for sure
I'll upload a couple pics tomorrow also... I'm sleepy now lol
Finally got a pic uploaded, here it is!!
A few observations...
If you own a Lily, the capsule from the FW3 fits in perfectly with the screen towards the Lily's heat intake.
AA battery holders make great carry cases for multiple mouthpiece/capsules.
If you own an Air, the caps that cover those stems also cover the tops of the mouthpieces for the FW3. This may of been mentioned already i think though....
More fun times ahead!!
Sorry to hear that, fella.@paytonpenn
can you remember if you did combust at the 4th and 5th hit in this video (starts at 1:26)... because that seem to be huge clouds!
my fw3 is "held in customs" what ever this means since 4 days... hope will get it soon!
carrier is usps and country swissSorry to hear that, fella.
What country? What carrier?
ABV was shown right after the 5th hit to confirm nothing was combusted, if I accidentally combusted I'm not recording it and showing it...@paytonpenn

You're good.sorry I did not want to offened you...
starting to get real good results on my fw3, I found that packing it a little tigher works better for me, as Im used to the draw on the AIR. did one capsule maybe .1 today and was medicated for 3-4 hours, cant complain
Glad your finding your sweet spot, which also reminds me I'm long overdue for a t-break ..
It's just way too easy with the fw3 to get blasted
As for how I pack the capsule I'm finding 1/2 or 3/4 with a little room to tumble is perfect.
I have yet to get good consistent results with a full cap.. What usually happens is the bottom ends up getting over cooked and the top gets undercooked .
also I feel like the harshness is adding up and/or I'm not hydrating enough lately throats getting raspy. Definitely time to take it easy after almost a month of everyday firewooding
Like you even need to ask, show us what you got! I always admire the quality of your videos. One of these days I would love to get myself setup with my go pro and a clean area with solid backgrounds to make a decent video or two.Would you guys be interested in a big bowl video? I'm not sure who'd even need a big bowl on this device, I'd actually like a smaller capsule...
