I wouldn't worry too much about the small amount of activity.

Personally my FW5 is pretty much become a daily driver alongside my iHeat. I don't post a lot in the thread because there's not a lot to report. It just works, and works really well, every time. There's no learning curve or much technique to learn, so nothing to comment on there either.

Fw5 is here and absolutely beautiful. I went with the new body style and love it . Have to zero in on the tuning of the heating temps to my liking and then I'm golden. The only thing I need to get is a funnel for loading. I like the 5 bowl clip, def a game changer with about a vc sized bowl. After I do some fiddling I'll give more thoughts. But smooth thick vapor that just kinda creeps up on you when you exhale and realize the size of the cloud. I threw some beeswax on it when I got it and let it sit for a couple hours. When I came back to it, it looked great now a nice finished look to it. Will get some pics up when I can

Can clear a bowl in 1 large hit or can take several hits and go up in levels to finish the bowl. No matter what level i have i seem to be spitting out great vapor. Fine grind tight pack but not too tight. Having 5 bowls is amazing as well. Cant say I have any desire to find another convection portable. May even grab a 2nd one of these. Itd be cool to see a bigger device that had a bigger bowl This will do though dont have to waste time reloading when I have 4 more ready after my first bowl. Havent had to do much cleaning yet other than screens but looks simple and I like that This device is a slam dunk and every one should get one

Try and be a BIT more positive Zow c'mon. Interesting, I will have to keep this in mind for some probing when I get seriouus about finding a decent portable which I would like to do but has been sidelined for health and not being overly drawn to anything except the Tubo (long wait time this summer).

Got mine today and she's a beaut!

Initial impression: I know it's been mentioned, but it's surprisingly small and fits well in the hand. Great build quality, heating mode selection, haptic feedback, draw sensor, etc. are all somewhat unexpected (as I've never owned a Firewood) but welcome additions. I flipped it to the medium setting and have only ran a small pinch of herb through it but I'm impressed so far. Can't wait to get some more testing in!

This, Firewood thread has always been quiet and low-drama, a lot to do w how accessible and consistent Marc runs things.

The hype for FW5 deserves to be stepped up, tho. Firewood’s have always been reliable w a huge amount of design work for the money, and excellent extractors. But FW5 leapt forward on speed and ease-of-use, that combined w the best/simplest interface and all-in-one form factor make it, for my use, the single best convection portable. I thought my Splinter would be my at-home heavy-hitter, but instead it’s been relegated to backup vape, I haven’t thought of anything other than FW5 since it arrived.

I hate to be the voice of discord when everyone seems obviously to be loving this vape... but it's the first Firewood iteration that I don't find sexy. From a pure design / aesthetics point of view that is. But we all have different tastes of course and I'm all for diversity.

I have not been registered long here, but I remember the firewood 2. I remember the beginnings of FW.

Customer service has been stellar, in my opinion, no matter what I contact Marc about- from initial inquiry, to troubleshooting the issues I referred to above. He does travel, so sometimes there is a delay, but he will respond.

I drove my FW2 very much into the ground- I had some issues at the very beginning that Marc addressed- they were not uncommon for the model- I've already contacted him regarding trade-in value towards my FW5. We may be a quiet bunch, but there are those of us who love FW.

@KeroZen...I actually agree with you- I do fully appreciate that is still a wood vape-my aesthetics appreciate that continuity- but that said, is definitely not my favorite design in the family visually. I'm heartbroken that I missed the dovetail for 4-but it would've been just as well I would heartbroken if that failed and I wouldn't be able to continue with that shell.

I definitely agree that it doesn't have visual sex appeal, but IMO it makes up for that in function. No other small convection vape I have has 5 bowls to load, this long of an airpath, vapor this smooth, regulation, battery level indicator, etc, etc etc.

The thing is so smooth is sneaks up on me, I often don't realize how big of a hit I've taken until I'm exhaling.

I agree, I think FW3 has been the best looking so far, I’m biased towards simple. I liked that FW4 kept the rectangle shape and all the extra bits were balanced. FW5 is the first asymmetrical design and has the biggest curves, it took me a little time to love the look.

It makes more sense when it’s in your hand, the ergonomics are really nice and walnut-enhanced tactile, and in multiple positions, too.

The stepped option has that cleaner look, and a fully symmetrical version would even better conform to modern expectations, but I think the curves have the most function.

In that sense, the design is symmetrical, as in either hand can use all the positions. I imagine the stepped version only feels a little more angular in use, and maybe a little bit smaller, too. I don’t think there’s a bad choice.

I’ll post pics of mine in hand later. Maybe someone w a stepped version can do the same?

I put a dv spinning mp on the end of the glass mp and it's a perfect fit! Then I threw the wpa on for the vc and boom!!! Game changer having a mp over the glass. Mitigates Any heat the may soak into the glass. Love when an idea like that pops in my head on my way to work. Then thought an xl condenser would work but no it's just slightly too short. So close. Love this fuckin thing

Well I just bought a walnut version I'm glad I saw it because when I looked at the site I saw sold out luckily I scrolled down and saw a walnut fw5 with my name on it. The only other convection vaporizer I have used is the mistvape touch how would you say the firewood 5 compares.

Returned my MV-1 Ghost. Too many bad units and issues. Appreciate the customer service.

As a rebound vape, I have pulled the trigger, and purchased the Firewood 5. The lack of negative comments sold me. Just want a rock of a vape not a stepping stone.

@Brewervapesalot im using a Samsung 25r, not sure those will work. After being a ghost owner myself, I feel this thing works as the ghost should have. And plus you have 5 loaded bows opposed to dealing with the crucibles system. You will be very happy! No gimmicks no bs! It just works. Also today I got some rosin from some ice water hash. Fuckkkkk put a tiny bit in with some herb and holy shot huge dab like hits

So those batteries say they are not "protected." Website says needs protected battery. Assume this matters. Having a hard time finding 20 amp continuous in protected version. Any advice? Links?

I'm even more confused because the firewood website recommends says use a protected battery, but then sells what appears to be an unprotected LG battery:

I'm unsure they even exist to be honest. 20A button tops yes, but they lack the protection circuit. I searched for coin-type protection circuits in the past, and I couldn't find any above 10A continuous.
