I have the Tubo and FW3(very similar, but apparently not quite as powerful or fast as the fw4 to vapor, from what i read on here)
Thanks! This is not an easy comparison and you seem to have homed in on the basic differences already (ie their respective strengths ) but i will see if i can add anything.
Vapor quality. Difficult. Both are great. Both produce similar type of vapor which i describe as 'nano like'. That is, more uplifting type of vapor.
the tubo with it's wide open airpath has virtually no restriction and because of the evic, has total control on temperature AND volume of vapor. That is, if you draw harder, it instantly compensates and so keeps pumping out vapor and lots of it. Very hard to overwhelm the heater.
the FW has a much more restricted airpath so has draw restriction. This is part of the design, so as long as you keep 'within spec' you will get quality vapor, but not as much per draw. I have no problems getting awesome clouds (and effects) though.
Harshness- I'd say the FW tends to be harsher, especially at higher temps. That short vapor path has it's limits, although the Fw mates with 14mm water connection AND 510 ecig mouthpieces right out of the box, so extending the path is easy.
Tubo, i bought an 18-14 wpa from them with my purchase so it also mates with water.
I haven't tried tubo with the short stem though. Only the bent stem and via a hydro tube.
Ease of use-depends on the situation, but both are easy And I have used both when vaping with beginners.
Fw is for me top dog portable. Sleek design fits in the pocket like a phone and no lights and haptic feedback means it just seems like you are getting a few texts if anyone notices the sounds.
it's also a completely self contained unit. Load the capsule and put it in your pocket. Good to go. No extra parts, stems etc to think about (unless you take a 510 ecig mouthpiece, which i often do, but this is optional-and tha fw4 has an extra mouthpiece integrated to extend the path)
Easy to use-once turned on (hold button, then 1-4 presses to set temp) everything is automatic with the draw sensor. You can get extra capsules for easy swapping, but i find refilling on the go pretty simple too.
Tubo has a seperate stem system. Very easy, but seperate components to carry as you couldn't leave them in on the go (safely ), however you can use 2 different spots in the stem for different size loads (and effects?), and both are designed to use a second screen to hold the load, so material doesn't fall out.
I Wouldn't use tubo as a portable out of the house. Too big and odd shape and seperate parts, but it can be. I didn't buy it for this purpose, though, so have never tried.
easy to use. Set temp. Press button. Draw. No technique required. Probably even easier in cruise mode (haven't bothered to try cruise yet...)
I could go on, but have already written an essay, so will stop...soon
You can't go wrong with either, but if I had to choose, for me it would be the firewood as the effects produced are just perfect for me (I am firmly in the camp of 'vape signature' compatibility being a very big part of why some people love vapes that others find meh) although the tubo is no slouch here either.
I think how you intend to use it should be the deciding factor.
I hope i have helped, but i probably haven't really... Good luck.
