Received mine today. Came with 3 ELBs with caps.

It arrived packed very well, and completely clean. No odd smells during burn in.

Works perfectly so far. I'll be giving it a good workout for the next couple of weeks, then when my EVO arrives this one will become a backup in case the EVO ever needs to go in for a fix.

I bugged him about if I had a tracking number but he put it up right away. He's been selling one every couple hours from the looks of it though. Maybe a lot of FCers are picking them up, at least I hope so, so people who know the story and won't know to blame VXC for any faults are getting them at least :)

I think I'll give mine a couple goes before I try dismantling it and doing the epoxy thing ;) it should be here friday!

couldnt resist any longer!!!! i jumped on and bought one too. like i said earlier.... with my limited funds... this will be the ONLY way i will ever own a cloud. i do know someone who is willing to let me test his EVO the next time i visit, so i look forward to that for a comparison as well as a comparison to my DBV that i own and use daily

Mine just arrived, came super quick.
Packed well and everything visually looks perfect, only one elb though, but better than none.

Once it warms up a little ill turn it on and report back

I think I got my tracking number the next day.

It definitly works :nod::smug:

I turned it to 12, and only gave it like 10 minutes to heat up. Filled my elb about 3/4 full, not packing it down, fine grind.

Super tasty vapor, and it appears to have done its job if you know what I mean. Not as thick and lung busting clouds as I expected, which honestly for me is a good thing. If I draw really hard I can get really thick hits. I haven't tried turning it any further than 12, the hits I was getting are perfect for me. No irritation.

A little engine-like smell for like the first 15 seconds after turning it on if I put my nose up to it. Seems gone now.

Anyway... I was headed out the door when it arrived, so I better get my ass off here.

Ill definitely be back later for more testing

tldr; so far soo good, hope the same for all of you :peace:

edit: should mention I used the dry mouthpiece and it was still really smooth for me, which was both unexpected and unusual for me.

edit2: hell the mouthpiece alone is worth $50 minimum. Nice and thick.
yep this thing works

So, after one night and one morning with this thing, here's my comparison to the OG:

Look,

-has a silver knob, OG has a black one. Silver one is nice looking, but harder to see the mark on. (mine is not aligned right. The spot where the knob stops at "noon" and you can feel the knob get into a notch, on my unit is actually around 12:30/1pm  So, my 7 am, is actually around 7:30/8 on the dial, etc. Just takes a little getting used to, but really where the temps are so different on the plus vs my OG, it's a learning experience again either way!)

-Power switch on the Plus has the typical I and O on each end, of on and off...the OG didn't.

-The LED is noticeably brighter than in my OG. My bamboo is spotless on my OG, so it's not discoloration, etc. I can see the green LED in a well lit room with this new + unit, my OG however was not so visible. Also, when making adjustments on my OG, the led would flash a pattern every time I made an initial movement on the knob, and then go red while I continued to adjust the temp. The + just goes red as soon as I start moving the knob. The OG also flashed a pattern when being turned on, this + does not...straight to red!

-Non flared bamboo VS flared on the OG.

-This should fall into look and function...The power cord; It's shorter, and still stiff as a mofo!

Function,

-No matter what temp I set it too (tested max last night when I got home, and low temp this morning), from a completely cold start (7 hours turned off) it take 57/58 seconds to go green. This is obviously not accurate...but IIRC some (or all??) cloud + models had a very "early" green light, that really wasn't super accurate. I could be totally wrong on this, possibly @t-dub could clarify? Either way, my light goes green in just under a minute from cold, and makes temp changes in around 11/12 + seconds...sometimes a little longer. My OG takes 7-10 minutes (I can't recall exactly) to go green, depending on temp. low temps, less time, high temps, more time...accurate IMO. However, the OG still benefits from time to stabilize, and have the whole unit come up to temp. It (OG) performs at it's all time best, heat retention-wise, when hot to the touch.

-The outside of the unit definitely stays cooler to the touch, until you leave the unit running for at least one full hour or more...then, temperature dependent, the heat seems to make it out to the shell in a similar manner to the OG.

-The bamboo (airpath) is noticeably more restricted than the OG. Both visibly noticeable, and while hitting it. I also ripped on the bamboo of both the OG and + while cold, and I could tell very easily. The OG is easy to inhale fast through, with the +, I can't even inhale as fast as I need to to make the OG whistle (when off, cold, and inhaling straight through the glass, no mouthpiece, etc.) However, this still doesn't seem to be a huge detractor. I have noticed that I can't get the bubbles to stack quite as high in my GBD FC bubblers, and the pull is a bit restricted feeling with the HT if really ripping on it. For me, not a deal breaker...still gonna shelf my OG and let it take a break, and use this thing daily until it dies, or the EVO arrives

I think that is pretty much it, as far as things to compare between the two. I haven't set a timer to see if the auto shut off is at ~58 minutes, or closer to 90...but I did see it shut off automatically, and it totally does just "go lights out" with no pattern, etc. when the time is up, as @t-dub mentioned earlier!

Here is a shot of my new addition, next to its predecessor...Kind of funny how I stripped the paint from my OG, and this new one came with a silver knob...they look "yin-yang-like" lol.

Edit* if you're observant like I am, and notice that the male joint on my OG is in fact dirty looking compared to the + , that is right! However, I cleaned the bamboo on the OG after this photoshoot, and then did the color/brightness comparison  I've been neglecting cleaning this thing this week lol

I think you just have to accept the fact that the temp lights have no real meaning. I know of no Cloud+ models that have what we would call "proper" functioning temp lights, and I think the fact that you guys are receiving units just like mine is evidence that they were never constructed.

Off timer should be close to 90 minutes.

 I KNEW someone would not only catch that, but really like it lol...but I did't even think about that when I was taking the pics last night lol! When I saw the pics on my mac today though, in full size...I realized that Charlie had photo-bombed 2 of the pictures, and dennis managed to creep into another...it made my morning! :D So, thanks for liking my post, for that reason, and any other reason!

I wasn't really complaining, just noting differences, etc...for others so they have a guide line to go by, for how these things (should? lol) work...But, I didn't want to blindly say all Cloud + models were like this, having never owned one prior. But, I was pretty sure lol. I definitely just go by time, and eye ball it, until I'll eventually get used to the average real heat up times at different temps...No biggie! Thanks for the clarification though!

And, 90 minutes...right you are! I didn't time it with my stopwatch, but it's been about an hour and a half, and as I was typing the above, it turned off ;) Time to power cycle and get back to it!
