Thanks, one is from Ed's wood collection and the the other 2 are from Snappo's wood and i honestly can't remember. Some kind of Burl's Pretty Burls
@Ratchett! It was an absolute pleasure working this through to the beautiful end with you - or new beginning, I should say, with your newborn Nano - a most stunning one-of-a-kind heirloom quality E-Nano that will last for generations! It truly is a sight to behold! ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY!!! ...and THANK YOU!!!Phew! Finally a nice day to take some pictures after work (It's been raining the past few days)!
I wanted to share my recent experience with @Snappo and the final product with ya'll
About 6 weeks ago I started a PM with Snappo regarding some exotic wood for another project - quickly the conversation turned to some exotic wood for the Nano. I wasn't really sure what the name of the classic burl design I wanted, so I showed him reference pictures from google images - he was able to easily identify what I was liked (He suggested Afzelia or Amboyna Burl).
He was very helpful answering my questions and making me aware of the colors and how I probably wouldn't find the rich red hues I wanted because they use toxic pigments to add color. He told me he was waiting on the kiln to finish drying and would give me first pick of the next batch.
He made good on his promise by messaging me sooner than I expected (I was thinking we would START around the end of July). I've learned from the past that when opportunity comes knocking, don't wait around too long to answer! Seeing how busy @ACE OF VAPE has gotten with the surge in Nano's popularity, I wanted to order this custom Nano before he has a long wait list!
Snappo was awesome with communication and very prompt to respond to every message. The day I ordered my custom nano and had an order number from EpicVape, I sent it to Snappo along and a paypal transaction. Within 4 hours of purchase (on a Friday), my wood was shipped out and delivered to Andy on Monday. That's what I call service!!
I left Andy alone to work his magic and only made one special request to make my nano 0.25 to 0.5 inches taller if possible. Only once did I check back a week later with Andy to confirm he had my wood and see how it was going. He responded that it was looking good and would be shipping it Friday.
Sure enough the log was shipped on Friday and delivered Monday - exactly 14 days from the date Andy received my wood.
Overall, I'm one happy camper, and LOVING the piece. Though to be honest, I've had her for over 48 hours and I still have YET to run one session with her (I was waiting to get some nice pictures for ya'll before I put my dirty hands all over her!).
@Snappo - Nice work! This will certainly not be my last purchase from you!

You can purchase a wood butter..eds tnt sells his bomb ass butter on his site and i think underdogs have a butter for sale too..just heat up unit and rub it in and buff it out... i dont buff mine i just apply it and leave it alone.
you think like 10 years down the road or whatever it's gonna be some normal stuff i could go anywhere that sells fancy wood stuff and get some stuff to keep it looking okay? or is the stuff eds and underdogs sell a special made thing?
It's literally mineral oil and beeswax mixed together. If you want something local, go to the store and buy unscented mineral oil. Heat and buff as needed.
Source: wood turning friend - turns functional art (food safe salad bowls), and turns art bowls (for galleries). He uses standard unscented mineral oil exclusively to finish all of his functional food-safe bowls.
Thanks! You'd know it, since your 'dog is from the same wood! ha ha ha I'm loving how dense this wood is! Been enjoying the past few sessions just staring at the intricacies of the grain patternYour Nano is fucking gorgeous Ratchett
My good FC friends! I've been a bit behind with my picture taking duties planned for yesterday and today because my Comcast internet & phone service was interrupted for some unknown technical reason beyond my control. Called Comcast yesterday when my connection first dropped, intermittently, then permanently. Got them on my cell phone and got diagnostics underway when we got disconnected (hung up on?) and had to start all over 3X - pathetic! Finally gave up on diagnostics and a good cell connection without the now-expected disconnect, so made an appointment for a repair tech to come to the house and start from scratch - and that's where the real fun started - I was working with the tech for better than 5 hours today until finally back up and running. Needless to say the whole day was shot and best photo light was history. Will cross my fingers for a good photo shoot tomorrow. Can't wait for you all to see what the Snap has cooking in the kitchen! I deeply appreciate your patience and understanding, but have no fear - dinner will be served!!!Can't wait to see the pics! In the mean time, what's in that shipment?
