Wow Snappo, really digging your wood, working it has been a blast also! Ahhh LOL probably wasnt the best way to word my first sentence but what the hell, I know what I mean! The above pieces look like the shit! I just hope we get to see what these wonderful blocks of wood turn out to be. It oughta be mandatory that when someone buys a piece from ya that they have to come back and post after pics. You should make em sign a contract man! No pics, no buy! Very well done hunting my friend very well done. I know these pieces arent just out there laying around waiting for you to pick em up, you are doing a fine job sourcing them. Keep it up my man, keep it up!

I agree! I've been happy so far with my purchase from @Snappo - I showed him online pictures of the style of wood I liked, he knew exactly what I wanted and said he was waiting on the wood to finish drying in the Kiln. He contacted me as soon as it was available and gave me first pick. He's answered every question and was fast to ship my wood to @ACE OF VAPE to make into a custom Nano (same day shipping, went out on Friday, was delivered to Andy on Monday).

It'll be exciting to see how my piece compares since according to Snappo they're from the same log!

I can't wait to see the finished product. @Ed's TnT - I'll be sending you a PM soon for a nice fully custom 14mm and 19mm WONG (Start thinking about what type of wood and inlays you think would compliment this Afzelia Burl)

I can't wait to see your new & unique custom E-Nano!!! It's going to be a masterpiece, of that I'm sure!!! The Afzelia Burl piece you picked was from my 2nd batch of the same block of Afzelia, which measured about 30" x 8". My supplier provided me with a picture of all sides of the block and then allowed me to choose the richest most burly swirly colorful sections for cutting to my specs, and then off to be kilned. I am lucky to have found him! Stem blanks from the same block are currently being kilned and should be ready in about 3 weeks. I am thoroughly enjoying my exotic woods experience along with my fellow FC members - your satisfaction is my ultimate reward!

They'll look like brothers :lol: ,it really is a beautiful piece of wood :tup: can't wait to see yours :clap: I think some lapis lazuli would look good - @Ed's TnT do you have any of that?

@flotntoke - I currently have in stock 5 Afzelia Burls, 1 Golden Amboyna Burl, and 2 Olive wood Nano sized blanks that are kiln-dried. In about 3-4 weeks I will have 6 more Afzelia Burls and 6 Amboyna Burls, kiln-dried. Andy did recently clarify in a post that he would also make our custom exotic wood E-Nano's from very well seasoned (air-dried) wood, which I do have in stock, such as the Redwood Burls you will find a few pages back. The seasoned wood blanks that I carry are air-dried to a 6-11% moisture level - same as the kiln-dried. These have been seasoned for at least 3-5 years, and some as long as 15 years! All woods that I very carefully select are dimensionally stable, and of the highest grades available. The 2 Amboyna Burls that I featured in the recent post above are not E-Nano sized, but the Amboyna Burls due in a few weeks will be perfect for a newborn Nano!

@VaporsVaporizer Thing is for most inlay, it calls for using CA glue, its a super freaking adhesive that bonds almost immediately and holds super strong but is very toxic. I have used it to do inlay in dugouts before where it works great, it works so well that I have seen it release vapors when applied to some woods, toxic take your breath away vapors. I would never ever wanna use it on a vapor stem where it would come into contact with hot air and then into ones lungs. I use a non toxic glue that works well for the turquoise and other softer materials. It doesnt have nearly the bond that the CA glue does but also isnt toxic at all. Lapis is super hard, I mean hard, the adhesive I use is not strong enough to hold the stone in place and allow me to apply enough pressure to sand and smooth it. I have given it several tries and each time I take it a little slower which doesnt seem to take any of the rough edges off or even begin to smooth it, so I apply a little more pressure then the stones come flying off the stem. All the time I took to place the pieces and the dry time is lost. It sucks, the lapis looks beautiful and the work I have seen others do with it is amazing but its just not a good candidate for my application. I have looked a few times for other such gems or stones I could use but havent settled on any one yet.

Very interesting! Just a thought here - is it absolutely necessary to make the inlayed stones perfectly flat at the surface? I think a little roughness at the fingertip could actually enhance the finger grip, and still look great - rustic & refined all-in-one - recess the groove a tiny bit deeper & use the good non-tox glue!
