I'll be watching for another Ed's stem when they are ready, black wood would be my preferred choice. Hope you are doing well Ed 
**I sacrificed my original wood solo stem to use with the HI, did a bang up job altering it, but it works, and looks ok, nothing worth really bragging about. I rarely use the Solo dry anymore, but still want to have a wood stem around for times when I might need to, and don't want to take glass along, not to mention just how nice those stems hit, and look on the solo.

Good morning, thanks for the inquiry Curious and Jam, I had hoped to have had these available by now but had to finish up on LB Stems. I have almost finished turning all the granadillo I will need for these and am about to start turning the Blackwood and Cocobolo. I should have these available in a couple more weeks. I am gonna finish turning all the wood this coming week and then they will be off for the pin install the following week. I really apologize for not getting these done sooner but have been overwhelmed with all the work lately. This is a good thing, just hate to keep everyone waiting. Pls hang in there with me just a little longer. These are all gonna be special pieces, the wood I have turned is some of the best and has finished really well!

no worries on my end, I probably won't really need to use a wood stem until summer when taking my portables out to festivals and what not... glad you are keeping busy!

Iv'e been thinking about that too. Not to derail the thread but how do you recharge your portables at fests Jam? I have been trying to find something just for this purpose. I would love to have my Pax for being at music and my Solo for camp sessions at festivals.

So far I have been using our car (sometimes have to hike to the parking area) to keep my stuff charged, or I just take every portable I own, along with all the batteries, so if one dies, I have another to work with while I figure out the charging. One fest we had a generator and a strip plug, so that was handy. I too would like to find a reliable portable battery that isn't too big/heavy, but will charge a few times to make it worth having, do those exist?
To get this back on track, I am enjoying using the wood solo stem on my HI, it's nice for a few dry hits. I bet I could still use it in the Solo, I would just have a micro-bowl, a few hits at most. I inserted a SS tube from another one of the stems that came with the HI I got. It's a bit rough, cracked the wood a little, but the outer SS sleeve had to be pounded back on, and covers most of the cracked part. I could have gone slower, and done it right, I just tend to become a little impatient sometimes, and didn't really have the right tools to do the job properly. It does work great though

Hello and thank you for your inquiry as well as the kind words. I did make stems that were used with the CRZ but worked really well with the PD also. I have since quit making them due to having so many other things to keep up with. The demand for them just wasnt enough to justify the time. I have a couple left and once they are gone thats it for em. I did see an order come in for one of them this morning, so maybe that was you. If not you better grab the last one! I hope all is well and thank you again.

I will let you know the day I receive the stems. Thank you for the timely shipping. To be honest, I feel bad just ordering $15 of product with free shipping. I'll be sure to order something more worth while in the future.

Good morning, been keeping busy, havent gotten as much done as I would like but am awful close to having all the wood turned for the solo stems. I should have em all turned in the next couple of days and then they are off to have the pin installed. Should only be a week or two now from being completely done. Heres a couple picks to show I havent been screwing off!

I was wondering if anyone who has used the Toke n Tubes before had a good method for cleaning them when the screen inevitably gets clogged from use...

The insert can be submerged and soaked in ISO, this will work to clean up the screen from time to time. The wooden tube itself should never ever be submerged. You can use a cotton swab dipped in ISO and squeeze out the excess to swab out the inside of the tube when it gets gunky. Remember a little maintenance and cleaning goes a long way to the life of the piece. Give this a try and it should perform really well.
Alright Solo stems are off for the pin install today and should be ready in a week, so hang in there with me everyone, wont be much longer.
Just wanna let everyone know solo stems will be back in stock in the morning my time. The blackwood is freaking stunning since I just buttered em, super sleek with an ultra fine finish, these are the best of the best! Granadillo is gonna go up in price, this last shipment was more expensive than the one before it. Couldnt get any cocobolo due to lumber prices which have doubled since the last time I purchased it. Wont have any Bog Oak this batch either. Will only have granadillo and blackwood. I hope you all understand and will get in on em while you can on this run.

I have to do some web work and changes to my shopping cart and wont have that done til the morning so nothing will be for sale until bout 8am central time US.
I got you a sweet piece picked out Jam, has a couple small distinct burl eyes in the center on the wood. I think its the best of the bunch just for you!
