ecapple iV-1

No separate thread yet, not sure if it needs one as the iv-1s is an upgraded model rather than a totally new design?

Wow guys, forget about it!
I ordered from ecapple direct.
What I got is a Tlaloc wax burner, a revised iv1 mouthpiece (very similar to Tlaloc) and fucking ANOTHER iv1 vape, not iv-1S.
And they are also partying hard until February the 14th for the Chinese new year holidays.
:)
No doubt it will be a nice gift but fuck it! :)
They fucked up my shipment or else they are trying to say that basically the iv-1S model is an iv-1 with a Tlaloc mouthpiece on top of it.

the iv-1s should have an updated firmware and a slightly different case design that you'd be hard pressed to spot on the promo photos.

The case is slightly different but should be stamped with iv1s logo at least. Instead I have yet another iv1(no S) logo.

I tried to have a bowl but it died on me twice. Very probably it's faulty too. Shouldn't be a battery issue cause when I tried it had 2 bars. After pushing the button 3 seconds it started heating but the screen booted again like it had been shut. I tried to press the button 3 seconds, then again it started to heat but very soon it reset itself.
Now I'm loading the battery full before trying again or with another battery. But it's pretty clear some internal mechanism is messed up, not the battery imho.

Unit seems not faulty. After charging the new battery full, the unit works and is now performing the initial burn off.
Temp can be adjusted on the go and in Celsius degrees too.
The body of the unit reads iv1, not iv-1s, but I can adjust temp while vaping so there's some update going on here, other than the nice glass mouthpiece.
Unit is black and not black+red like the pic showed. Here's the reason of my disappointment.
I feel sorry for having posted too early.

you should also be able to change the displayed temp from C to F, I expect that will be in the sub menu when you hold the up/down buttons at the same time for a few seconds. I would love to know if they changed the hardware design internally or not, would love to try the new firmware :D

Of course you can! I also tried to switch to medium heating but I didn't get at all.
You can select F or C on the options menu.
Also the fonts on the menu is changed here and therr, the numbers font is bigger for example.

Yes, I tried once on medium and didn't get good hits. It could have been the strain. Anything.
I prefer fast, and I think my only complaint would be it's a little colder than my one month old iv-1. That if my test confirms my first impression.

I think you adjust the s/m/f settings to your air flow, temp is your upper limit, s/m/f are heatup time and I think that would also apply to recovery time (the time it takes for it to recover to top temp after you've started breathing in).

I dont remember I will see as soon as I can.
Do you confirm I have the S version with a iv-1 body or it could be a later revision of iv-1?
Changing temps on the go make it quite a Mighty contender, on the paper.
The fact is I actually bought a Mighty today and turning on any other vape is out of question for the time being. XD
@MadDawg I mailed info@ecapple and started a conversation with the sales manager.
I bought the tlaloc wax burner (7,5€) (like a wax pen with 510 thread and no included battery), and a replacement (4€)for my iv-1 mouthpiece that was of the un-screwable sort. I mailed only with the intention to buy a better iv1 mouthpiece, asked if I could have an S model and the guy sorted me out! Very friendly unfortunately the unit is marked iv1(no S) and I'm waiting for a response after 2.14 when chinese new year festivities will be over. 14 days out in place of er.. One. I want to celebrate chinese festivities too.
:)

Still here Still
My replacement iv 1 MP cracked along the bottom after three weeks, on the fourth it came apart when removing the bubbler, IMO its a heat related issue the polycarbon MP cracked at the hottest point (by expansion) and then spread as cracks do leading to failure.

I have Emailed info@ecapple.com explaining my problem with pic's of the piece two days ago and await a reply,

Yeh @lookhigh Not soon enough for me it would seem but I have no doubt they will correct the fault in due course, as @ReggieB pointed out they watch and listen to what's goin on, if they did'nt they would'nt be in business long and secondly they want our feedback for a reason so they can refine the product and so produce better performance, more reliablity, enhanced features, safety ect.

I am waiting to see what the reviews say about the latest version but Ive got to be honest and say I am 50% sold on the new revision so far, once the reviews start appearing I shall read with further intrest.

In the meantime I await word from ecapple,

Indeed, however for myself, it's not the plastic that's failed in the mouthpiece, the plastic is fine, the metal thread etc. is all fine, it's the method used to secure those 2 pieces together that has failed. It seems to me they probably need to look at making the mouthpiece longer and as much metal and glass as necessary, in as few pieces as possible with sufficient length that you won't toast your lips.

Whatever they do with the mouthpiece, they need to resolve it quickly as this has really been going on too long now, this is the 3rd revision and they're still breaking.

All the firmware updates are all welcome, functionally it's the same as the last unit with a couple of enhancements, so if you liked the last unit, this one will be better. Unfortunately I am not in the market for a new vape but I would happily look at the ecapple iv-1s with the wax chamber.

My unit seems actually faulty at the end, lol.
Whenever the battery is as low as 30-40% remaining charge.

M iv-1s
(or whichever revision with iv1 body and adjustable temp on the go I got)
resets to ecapple welcome screen in the middle of heating itself and loops it. Heats from room temp to 75°C and then displays home screen forgetting to reach vaping temp at all. Codename of my unit or worse, batch of units, could be "crafty" ecapple, since this (firmware?) bug basically means my battery life is halved. :D

@ReggieB Could'nt agree more the MP needs resolving quickly,my spare mp left the bottom half of itself in the unit when I unscrewed it,I thought it was a bit stiff coming out but it had unscrewed itself off the bottom piece leaving that bit (with the screen)in the unit, I could'nt see any fixative and surfaces were clean so I just screwed it back on and heated the chamber for a few mins and it came out no problem

@justcametomind My ist unit done a similar thing, it would stop heating then shut down to standby on a fully charged battery for no apparent reason, it also done a power of clicking when in fast or medium heating modes but seldom got anywhere near the prescribed temp, and like yours it ate batteries 3 five min sessions that's it new battery required, However I have had a wee tinker with it and while it won't perform as it should in fast or medium heat setting (regardless of time) it will function properly in slow heating mode, worth checking.
