Dr Dabber Switch (Induction Vaporizer)

I'm just blown away by the switch with oil.

In my honest, albeit bias opinion, I love the Switch in oil mode as well.

My personal preference for Crystal/Quartz mode is in between 5 Blue and 2 Cyan, depending on the concentrates I am using (Cold Loading & 20 second hold time). Great flavor and milky clouds in this range. Little to no waste, but still leaves a slight residue on the cup. Cotton swab after. I will usually clean the Ti cup and Quartz insert with an ISO bath for about 15 minutes each weekend, Sundays are my cleaning day.

I also like to use the included silicone concentrate container to place warm nails in when removing them from the device.

We would love to hear more about the temperature ranges each user prefers.

Thank you for the all the feedback so far!!!

Please, reach out to our support team by emailing info@drdabber.com. We are happy to help you out with this.
Thanks, I just emailed. To be honest, I wasn't sure I wanted to get it replaced. I'm put off by the ceramic coating to begin with, and the fact that it shattered like that just from normal use is disconcerting. Is there any kind of timeframe for when we can expect to see a real ceramic cup?

edit: Took less than 10 min for Dr. Dabber support to reply saying they'd send a replacement. Great customer service!

Your picture isn't showing up for me on my laptop or cell, the coating just chipped off? I am really weirded out by the ceramic coating and really cant figure out why they went that route instead of a ceramic cup in a metal dish like the quartz.
Speaking of the quartz why the hell is it not included in the steep price of the switch? Really should have been included even if it was as a 'thank you gift' for purchasing so the customer feels like they are getting more for their 400 bucks...Especially since they are releasing fancier (and I assume more expensive) inserts for dabbing soon, the quartz should come standard like it did with their last device.

If it had a screen with temperature readout people probably would let you hear, Arizer had colored leds for temperature on he original Air but soon found out a lot of people are colour blind so the interface was useless to many. They managed a full interface screen on the latest Arizer Air so it is weird that you didn`t on the Switch seeing how big it is.

With the colored lights for heating up, cool downs cycle and 25 different light settings for standby lights. They musta felt it's a major selling point. Honestly I thought it was hokey at first, but it's really grown on me. Really love the turns green when ready, then standby color when done heating.

Think this mighta been more was a choice of the theme look they where going for. There's a lot of vapes on the market, this one has eye-catching looks and led colored lights. They add a nice visual effect along with be a useful feature when using.

I see this appealing to the younger crowd. Currently 20-30 years olds are the largest age group usage. If they only designed vaporizer for vapor enthusiast like most of us, they be out business. They value fc feedback but to be profitable also need more of a mainstream market. I feel they mostly nailed it with the switch.

A bluetooth app would have been a great help for colorblind people and firmware upgrades. Along appealing to younger crowd. I imagine thou it woulda driven up the cost add and to design apps.

At $399.00 it's already at I feel it's a fair price value ratio.
Customer gets a great device. Along with great customer service.
There reps here to answer questions there's value in that.
Company makes enough to stay business to offer support. Love my elevape 2 but it's days are numbered, since warranty support is nothing if company isn't in business.

I really don't know what to tell you if you honestly believe a few flashing lights make it a cool device that appeals to young people. Flashing lights is literally a euphemism people use to describe something that tries to distract you from its deficiencies. Look, you can like how the Switch performs without being sycophantic about it. Induction is an innovative, efficient, forward-thinking way to cook your dabs. When you distill the appeal of this device, it comes down to convenience and modernity. These tiny lights are neither modern nor convenient. In my opinion, Dr. Dabber undercut the appeal of the Switch by handicapping it with an incredibly basic user interface. This thing was released halfway through 2018, when screens and haptic technology and connectivity are ubiquitous. If the lights had complemented a screen and/or a buzz and/or an app, they'd be great, because they'd be adding dimension and a "fun factor." As is, they just feel inadequate.

Guess I see you're point and agree with you there, being older I mighta assumed wrong. Can only express my thoughts and experience's here. My niece and here husband who are in there 20's felt it was cool. They where impressed with the lights. So wasn't meant to diss or anything on young people just based on my limited experience.

On being sycophantic sorry you feel that way. Did you read some of my other posts of like's and dislikes of this device? I totally agree with you on controls and just offered my thoughts on maybe why. Maybe it's just my style of writing? I think if you compare post here to my other post. You would find it's just the way I express my feelings / thoughts on the vaporizers I own.

I see so many folks that trash a product for being bad cause it doesn't suit there needs. I try give my feedback as I see it.

Sorry man, didn't intend to come at you like that. No hard feelings at all.

Not at all. Even learned a new word :) Had to goggle sycophantic.

Make's sense I didn't think of it that way. Others than controls function wise and issue with the cup.
How are you liking device?

I see you have a puffco peak how's that compare to the switch?

I don`t think I would cost that much, Vivant Alternate has a screen and is firmware upgradable and they are cheap (being made from hardened plasticine is probably why they are so cheap )

I'd recommend either one to an enthusiast with extra money who was looking for a new gadget to play with, but neither to someone who was looking for a daily driver. The Switch wins on oil performance overall - probably more so once it introduces better ceramic/sapphire cups. The current ones are meh. The addition of a flower mode is nice for those who like it, but I suspect most won't. I'm glad Dr. Dabber is working on a variety of different accessories for the Switch, in contrast with Puffco, who doesn't even offer replacement glass for the Peak. The Peak wins on aesthetics for sure - conversation piece is the expression that comes to mind. It performs well when it actually works, but it's a device you're guaranteed to have hardware issues with due to poor engineering. At their respective price points, they both require numerous improvements.

Hi everyone!

I just finished the 30 pages of this thread and wanted to thank you all for all your useful/helpful - not to mention entertaining - information!

In particular, thank you @stickstones, @DabberChase, @Dr.Dabber, and @Stu (for minimizing the shipping messages as well as the unnecessary and unhelpful negativity.)

I currently vape flower almost exclusively using an E-Nano, and concentrates using an Errlectric Concentration station with their quartz nail - both flower and concentrates always filtered through one of my Eric Ross bubblers. All in all, I consider myself quite fortunate to have access to methods that consistently and reliably produce results that are efficient and tasty. Yay!

The Switch seems intriguing thanks to its impressively rapid heating time and minimizing heat related dangers - not to mention the freedom an impressively efficient battery powered product provides! For me, the Switch could be a lot more attractive proposition if it had a 50mm tube adapter option rather than the proprietary glass I would prefer to avoid. Well, that and a modern user interface. While the lights are entertaining, they seem wholly inadequate when compared to the basic, yet thoroughly useful, screen on the Mighty. That seems like the absolute minimum UI bar for what otherwise appears to be a top tier product.

However, that has not prevented me from ordering one. Yay! With that in mind, I would gratefully appreciate your taking a moment to share your favorite time/temperature/???/etc. settings for both flower and concentrates (EDIT: and any other advice, tips, etc. you wish you knew when you got yours, or think a new user might benefit from) . Not only will that be enormously helpful for me as well (EDIT: changed "ass" to "as") as other new Switch users, but with a little luck, you more experienced Switch users will also pick up a useful tip or two. Yeah?

Oh and FWIW, I did order the quartz insert.

Thank you all again!

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a hard time getting all the material off the dabber when taking a normal dab? It seems like the depth of the cup + the size of the dabber causes a lot of oil to cling to the tip, no matter how much dipping and scraping I do. Cold loading is definitely the way to go with the Switch.

I never hot load it. One of the big appeals to me is the relaxing dab. Dabs have always been a stressful race against waste for me until the Switch.

A Bluetooth app and screen control would be nice. But keep in mind the induction coil that fucks with things like frequencies. I'm sure all these challenges will be conquered eventually, but this is the first of its kind. It's radical today but will hopefully look basic a few years from now...

Same.
I actually switched to using a titanium dabber. The titanium dabber tip heats up via induction as well so it comes out VERY clean :)

Please elaborate if you dont mind.
Well, I usually use my flowerpot if I'm gonna hit a dab but I always disliked not being able to cold load. With the switch I can cold load it and just wait a few seconds compared to minuets and be done. I do however wish the glass dabber they gave you wasnt as blunt as it is, it's kinda hard to get anything on it. Maybe I should use my ti dabber but I'm afraid it'll mess up the switch.

Back a few posts another member tried the same exact thing with great success.

I dropped my dabber like 2 inches and it broke, first piece of glass I've ever broke too. Really disappointed.
