Dr Dabber Switch 2

Just got a Switch 2 a few days ago.

I'm new to dabbing (I normally vape flower using an Anvil WPA, sometimes add a little rosin for some extra kick), so I have a few dumb questions.

First off, what's a good heat for rosin in the Switch 2? Right now I'm using the default temp (480, descend), and I'm not white-walling the glass as much as I'd expected seeing the footage you all put up (granted I'm not using large amounts of rosin, about the size of a grain of rice).

Second: with the stock carb cap, are you supposed to leave the hole on the "joystick" uncovered, or let your finger feather it between uncovered/partially covered, etc.? Also, are you just supposed to spin it around, or is there a method to it, like staying stationary for some time, then rotating, etc.?

Third, it seems like the heat cycle ends fairly quickly on the stock setting; is that about how long one would normally do it, or will going longer allow the concentrate to get more completely used up?

And finally, I bought it from VGoodiez, and got the bundle they offer, which includes a ruby terp pearl. I tried it once, and it just sat there, stuck to one side, and didn't spin around the chamber as expected. Was this, again, due to my not using a large amount of rosin?

Thanks!

flavor will be found more in the sub 500 range 500+ you'll get denser/throatier vapor in my experiences... try turning it up and up the time.. experiment and you'll get your answers right.

Great questions. I am also a rookie and just guessed, although I think I went with ~440 for rosin the first couple of times. And I was using about half of a grain of rice - out of an abundance of caution!

I'm using the app. for custom setting. I pretty much only do rosin and I've settled at 455F Descent at 40 seconds for the smallish dabs I do.

Stock joy stick uncovered, swirl while hitting and lift off magnet to clear glass.

If you are going for thicker smoke, I’d try a bit higher temp. I like 500-510 on descent mode. You can also try steady temperature but I found the dab tasted just slightly burned toward the end.

With the carb cap, I like to either point it at one of the sides of the chamber or move it in a circular motion. It’s up to you whether you leave the carb hole uncovered or use it to feather in air.
What I did with the hole in the center is put a piece of tape over half of it. That way it restricts the air flow, which I found helps me to cough less. That’s a personal preference thing, though.

Just keep playing with the temperature settings and you’ll find what you like. Try all different temps, and try all the hearing modes - ascent mode + decent mode + steady heating. Each offers a different experience.

Also, one of the first things I did was change the hold time from 30 seconds to about 55 seconds. I find that works much better. 30 seconds wasn’t long enough to burn up the whole dab for me.

If you aren’t using the app yet, definitely download it and start using it. It offers so much more customization.

Thanks for your tips, all, I'll futz around w/ the app to see what gives me the best results.

Any ideas why the terp pearl I got w/ my VGoodiez bundle wasn't spinning in the chamber when I tried it out? Will it not do that w/ the stock carb cap? Not a deal breaker, just curious.
